Hizli bir artis gosteren nufus, ekonomik, sosyal ve teknolojik gelismeler; kentlerde bazi olumsuz etkiler gostermektedir. Kirsal alanlardan kentlere yasanan gocler sonucunda; artan nufus ve plansiz kentlesme, iklim degisikligine neden olarak fiziksel cevreyi ve insan yasamini tehdit etmektedir. Bu olumsuz etkilerin ortadan kaldirilmasi icin gelecege yonelik surdurulebilir yaklasimlar benimsenmistir. Bu yaklasimlardan birini olusturan yesil is parklari, fiziksel cevrenin daha surdurulebilir olmasini saglayarak saglikli ve sosyal yasamlar sunmaktadir. Calismada, yesil is parklarinin ne oldugu aciklanmis, bu parklarin insan ve toplum sagligi uzerindeki faydalarina deginilerek dunyadaki orneklerine yer verilmistir. In educational life, students visualize their educative background, skills and expertise through portfolio documents (Goldsby & Fazal, 2001: 607-616; DiMarco, 2005). The main hypothesis of the qualitative research can be explained as, 'Portfolio documents may allow the explanation of individual vision and skill sets due to education centered differences of designers'. The results of the portfolio design course carried out by the author in different institutions and Industrial Design, Interior Architecture and Ship and Yacht Design departments are presented and are evaluated in order to determine the differences and similarities according to the established literature criteria. There are many elements under the theme of livable cities, and one of the cornerstones of these elements is biodiversity. Biodiversity refers to the diversity and abundance of plant and animal species in an area. Thanks to their heterogeneous structure, cities can be transformed into living spaces that support and protect biodiversity with the right approach and practices. Within the scope of this study, Atatürk Botanic Park located in the Keçiören district of Ankara province was investigated to give examples of design applications supporting biodiversity in urban areas and to create alternative designs that can support biodiversity. Observations and photographs regarding the structural and vegetative applications in the park were made. While applications that contribute to biodiversity in the field were given directly, alternative applications designed to increase biodiversity were visualized with the Photoshop CC program.
