We have devised some numerical results based on the real time simulation of the forward link and the reverse link under constraints imposed by the regular A WGN and REYLEIGH faded channels along with the mobile users imposed limitation. This simulation can also be used to deduce results for practical CDMA system designing. We have come up with graphical relationship between the BER (bit error rate) and SNR (signal to noise ratio).","PeriodicalId":447083,"journal":{"name":"2005 Student Conference on Engineering Sciences and Technology","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2005-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114241241","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The implications of these applications are vast; basically, the robot provides quarantine of the subjects and eliminates the contact of operators with the blood of subjects which is essential in some cases to prevent health hazards. It will also provide speed, accuracy and fully automatic procedures on a mass-scale which promise to be very cost effective. The concept of automatic vaccination can be easily extended to automatic sterility and medication. In epidemics, this arrangement can prove to be invaluable as it will save a lot of time and money and will eliminate health hazards to the workers. The project from its present crude form can be advanced by incorporating ideas of 3D imaging or 2D imaging of the site under target via software tools or image recognition or images having pathological importance.","PeriodicalId":447083,"journal":{"name":"2005 Student Conference on Engineering Sciences and Technology","volume":"50 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2005-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122043578","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, security is an alarming concern, as everything being transmitted is available \"in the air. \" Our work focuses on using existing protocols, standards, tools and technologies to implement a secure wireless LAN. Existing SCADA systems are divisible into two groups -cheap and inflexible control and expensive but flexible control. This project attempts to take a step towards the best of both worlds -cheap and flexible SCADA i.e. creating an extremely low cost device which can be adapted to many different SCADA applications via some very basic programming and plugging in relevant peripherals. Much of the price in some expensive SCADA applications is a result of using specialized communication infrastructure. By using existing infrastructure, in this case, the mobile GSM network, not only can price be kept down, but scalability and generic nature of the device is maintained. This project deals with the creation of an inexpensive, yet adaptable and easy to use SCADA device and infrastructure using mobile telephone network, in particular, the General Packet Radio Service (GPRS). The hardware components making up the device are relatively unsophisticated, yet the custom written software makes it re-programmable over the air, and able to provide a given SCADA application with the ability to send and receive control and data signals at any non predetermined time.","PeriodicalId":447083,"journal":{"name":"2005 Student Conference on Engineering Sciences and Technology","volume":"42 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2005-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128622291","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We have implemented the CDMA IS-95 based Wireless Transceiver System using Matlab Simulink v 7.0. The entire system is implemented using the Xilinx System Generator Block v6.3. Even though the CDMA IS-95 system is already implemented in Simulink and is provided as a demo, there is no way of converting it into real Hardware. Using Xilinx System Generator we have made our implementation capable of being translated into any of the HDL codes. This can be then mapped onto appropriate FPGA easily. We have used the hardware co-simulation feature of the Xilinx System generator to create a library of the basic building blocks of the IS-95 system. This library can be used for implementing to create the various channels that are the part of the CDMA system.","PeriodicalId":447083,"journal":{"name":"2005 Student Conference on Engineering Sciences and Technology","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2005-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130012010","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
