Analog circuit design represents a multi-objective optimization challenge, where designers must properly balance various performance factors such as input and output impedance, power dissipation, area, unity-gain bandwidth, slew rate, and open-loop DC gain. Traditional design equations provide a sizing of differential amplifier MOS transistors, further optimization can be achieved through the application of meta-heuristic search techniques. Meta-heuristic search techniques can be used as local optimizers in a smaller search area to improve the optimization of design parameters. The differential amplifier circuit with current mirror load is optimized through the application of the Dung Beetle Optimization (DBO) algorithm. By using an evolutionary algorithm called DBO, all the required parameters were achieved with the least amount of transistor area and power dissipation when compared to the results of the Seeker Optimization Algorithm (SOA), Opposition based Harmony Search Algorithm (OHS), craziness-based particle swarm optimization (CRPSO), and Cuckoo Search (CS) algorithms.","PeriodicalId":44451,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Electrical Systems","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.5,"publicationDate":"2024-07-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141837962","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The performance of the SAPF is evaluated under three loading scenarios: steady-state, transient, and unbalanced conditions. These evaluations focus on the SAPF's effectiveness in reducing the total harmonic distortion (THD) in the source current. The simulations are conducted using PSIM software, which includes a special dynamic link library (DLL) block. A fast Fourier transform (FFT) algorithm is utilized to generate the harmonic current components as a reference signal. The compensating current injected by the SAPF is controlled by gate pulses applied to the switching devices of each leg, determined by the logic behind the novel space vector-based HCC scheme.","PeriodicalId":44451,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Electrical Systems","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.5,"publicationDate":"2024-07-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141837969","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Automating the diagnosis of DR has the potential to greatly benefit patients by enabling early detection and intervention, thus reducing the risk of blindness. The primary objective of this research is to develop a robust approach for the classification of DR and to analyze its severity grading. By achieving this, we aim to provide an effective tool for accurate diagnosis and assessment of DR, contributing to improved patient care and outcomes. The current literature review analysis reported the importance of deep learning in computer vision based applications. Moreover, plenty of pre-trained models are also present which can be used for classification tasks. Therefore, we present a hybrid DL classification approach by combining Inception V3, VGG-19 and ResNet 50. The proposed architecture uses transfer learning, and feature fusion model to produce the weighted feature vector which is used for classification analysis. The proposed approach is experimented on publicly available datasets APTOS-2019 and Messidor. The performance is measured in terms of accuracy, precision, recall and F1-score. ","PeriodicalId":44451,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Electrical Systems","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.5,"publicationDate":"2024-07-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141680654","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Villages frequently encourage environmental stewardship and conservation initiatives, highlight cultural history, and promote local economies. By providing realistic practice environments and simulated games, we used virtual reality (VR) technology to improve rural sports and lessen the demand for substantial development infrastructure. A potential disadvantage of adopting VR technology for rural sports is the possibility of insufficient facilities and supplies available in remote areas. In this paper, we propose a novel World Cup Search-driven Quadratic Support Vector Machine (WCS-QSVM) method to enhance the performance of VR in rural sports. We use one of the Chisnese traditional games dragons boating. We employ an immersive setup that replicates the kinematic and sensory subtleties of dragon boating through the use of virtual reality. To allow users to participate in real-world paddling activities, such as moving iron rods on a boat with a reasonably replicated resistance to water, we use a controller-based approach. As a result, we evaluate the performance of our proposal. According to the findings, the use of VR can enhance the growth of sustainable development in rural sports.","PeriodicalId":44451,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Electrical Systems","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.5,"publicationDate":"2024-07-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141687197","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To study the transient characteristics of gravity grounding devices for offshore wind turbines under lightning strikes, a novel comprehensive model of offshore wind turbines was developed. This model integrates the Method of Moments (MoM) and Fourier transform, considering the complete path of lightning current from the wind turbine to the ground. The model includes blades, tower, and grounding device. The study examines the effects of varying seawater depths, silt layer soil resistivities, lightning current waveforms, and tower heights on the impulse characteristics of grounding devices during lightning strikes on wind turbine blades. The influence mechanism is analyzed using wave process theory. Calculations indicate that when the seawater depth is 0 m, the impulse grounding resistance significantly increases with the rise in soil resistivity of the silt layer. As the seawater depth increases, the influence of silt layer soil resistivity on impulse grounding resistance diminishes significantly. The shorter the lightning current wavefront time, the higher the potential rise of the grounding device. However, when the wavefront time of the lightning current is long, the oscillation attenuation of the grounding device's potential rise is not significant. The height of the wind turbine tower affects the oscillation frequency of the ground potential rise of the grounding device, with the oscillation frequency being inversely proportional to the tower height.  ","PeriodicalId":44451,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Electrical Systems","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.4,"publicationDate":"2024-06-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141360101","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A hybrid algorithm for modal parameter identification based on blind source separation is proposed in this work. In this paper, based on the detailed model of the wind-fire bundling of the double-fed fan, combined with the impedance analysis method, the principle of the system's sub-synchronous oscillation is analyzed, the detailed structural model and mathematical formula are established, and the strongly correlated variables are selected as the basis for the following research. Then, the algorithm of removing noise and harmonic interference is combined with the identification algorithm to analyze the sub-synchronous oscillation modes and related parameters in the grid-connected wind power system. Finally, this paper constructs the ideal model and the IEEE first model containing doubly-fed fan system simulation t, and the accuracy and effectiveness of the BSS-DMD method are proved. The frequency error can reach less than 1%, and the damping ratio error does not exceed 3%. This identification method with high accuracy can provide a new solution and basis for the power system stability problem caused by the sub-synchronous oscillation phenomenon of wind power connected to the grid.","PeriodicalId":44451,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Electrical Systems","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.4,"publicationDate":"2024-06-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141377808","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
