The experimentation set provides separately voltage and current generation, each one with any waveform involving up to fifty-first harmonic components, identically compared with acquisitions obtained from utility. The experimental accuracy is guaranteed by a class A power analyzer, according to IEC61000-4-30 standard. Some current and voltage combination profiles are presented and confronted with two different references of reactive/non-active calculation methodologies; instantaneous power theory and IEEE 1459-2010. It is used the droop voltage control to manage the active and reactive power. Through this control a sinusoidal voltage reference is generated to be tracked by voltage loop and this loop generates the current reference for the current loop. The proposed control introduces feed-forward states improving the control performance in order to obtain high quality for the current injected to the grid. The controllers were obtained through the linear matrix inequalities (LMI) using the D-stability analysis to allocate the closed-loop controller poles. Therefore, the results show quick transient response with low oscillations. In this context is presented a multipulse rectifier with generalized Delta-differential autotransformer topology, which can provide any level of DC output voltage for any level of three-phase AC input voltage. This paper presents all the possible configurations for Delta topology in order to choose, through graphics, one configuration that presents reduced weight and volume. The average voltage on the DC bus must be compatible with the DC voltage in the six pulse rectifier used in commercial ASDs. Therefore, it is possible to apply the retrofit technique to replace the conventional bridge rectifier by the proposed multipulse rectifier. Based on mathematic models and simulation results, an 18-pulse rectifier with Delta topology, 220 V of line voltage, 315 V of DC output, and rating 2.5 kW of power was designed, implemented and applied for three different commercial ASDs. A new improved version of the J<sub>1</sub>...J<sub>4</sub> method for optical phase measurements, named J<sub>1</sub>...J<sub>5</sub> method, is presented, which is of easier implementation than the original one. This is a passive phase detection scheme, unaffected by signal fading, source instabilities and changes in visibility. Experimental results using this improvement were compared with those obtained by using the J<sub>1</sub>...J<sub>4</sub>, J<sub>1</sub>...J<sub>6</sub>(pos) and J<sub>1</sub>...J<sub>6</sub>(neg) methods, concluding that the dynamic range is increased while maintaining the sensitivity. In particular, two simple IM models proposed in the literature, which take into account the additional losses, are compared. With this aim, model parameters are adjusted from experimental tests performed on a 4 kW IM. Then, obtained results from both models at different operating points are compared. Even when the estimation errors are similar using both models, one of them is chosen because of its simplicity. Finally, a simple application of this model is proposed, which consists in use the model for obtaining a complete efficiency map of the IM, without need further essays. Variable loads are used for experimental data acquisition of I-V power supply characteristics in a way that several operating points can be easily obtained. Laboratory load current tests using ordinary power resistors are not an easy solution due to their size, cost and overall weight. To resolve that it is proposed in this paper that the current through electronically varying loads can give better resolution to the I-V characteristics of FC and PV sources. The interleaved operation of the chopper converter ensures an input high frequency current ripple, reducing so the input LC filters size and converter volume. The converter transfer function is analyzed and controllers are designed to obtain a fast dynamic response and insure good stability in steady state operation. It is presented the converter operating principles, operating states and design.
