Such a platform constitutes a digital infrastructure bringing together various groups of users, whereas the platform owner provides facilities for establishing multi-sided relationships and interactions through the platform both within and between such groups. The platform generates the formation of a network of interactions between users and the operator of the business model seeks methods for and ways of monetising such interactions and data by organising the processing of data and the use of interactions. It has stimulated the spectacular development of the GAFAM corporations, the global IT giants and leaders. The paper aims to examine the process of the internationalisation of corporations relying on platformisation and to determine whether platformisation influence the internationalisation of economic activities. As demonstrated by the research carried out, despite their global operations, the digital corporations in question, GAFAM, have not internationalised as the process is traditionally understood; instead, they have been able to effectively operate on a global scale without expanding their foreign assets or foreign employment. It has created entirely new drivers towards decelerating globalisation as businesses relying on platforms and digitisation continue to grow.","PeriodicalId":442029,"journal":{"name":"Central European Review of Economics & Finance","volume":"23 4","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"138948404","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The key indicators of the banking sector have been analyzed, in particular, the number of banking institutions and the dynamics of assets and liabilities. The key financial results of the banking sector, namely net profit and loss, return on assets and capital have been analyzed. It is revealed that maintenance of operational efficiency and effective measures taken by the National Bank of Ukraine allowed the banking sector to adapt to the crisis conditions and make a profit under martial law.","PeriodicalId":442029,"journal":{"name":"Central European Review of Economics & Finance","volume":"14 11","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"138952860","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The article aims to identify and describe the most pressing challenges to the EU customs system in the context of the customs handling of supply chain actors. The hypothesis for verification is that the EU system is not static in the face of the volatility, uncertainty and ambiguity of the environment; instead, it responds to all challenges arising, so as to ensure guarantee professional customs handling to participants in supply chains. The article is composed of two parts followed by a summary. The first part addresses the role of customs in supply chains; the second part presents the most important challenges to the EU’s customs system directly related to the customs handling of participants in international supply chains. The summary concludes the issues raised in the investigation. The study relies on traditional research methods: deductive reasoning and comparative analysis.","PeriodicalId":442029,"journal":{"name":"Central European Review of Economics & Finance","volume":"63 7","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"138950652","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the paper it was used data from 2019 taking into consideration the last year of the UK's full membership in the European Union and a year before COVID-19 pandemic which also has influenced EU finance. In addition, the current operating balances of the member states are presented based on the latest data from 2022 referring to the author’s modified algorithm for calculating operating budgetary balances according to the guidelines of the European Commission. Findings resulting from the conducted research are as follows: referring to the formulated hypotheses it should be stated that there are no grounds to reject them. Correction mechanisms on the revenue side of the European Union budget affect the operating balance of a given country, although they do not have to cause a change in the operating balance from negative to positive or vice versa. In addition operating budgetary balances do not provide a true picture of the benefits and costs of European integration. Providing the value of budget balances for member states in relation to the EU budget should be considered a strictly accounting procedure. The wider use of operating budgetary balances can be considered a denial of the essence of European added value, because they refer to the idea of \"fair return\" as the expectation of a certain adequacy between the amounts paid and the funds received from the budget.","PeriodicalId":442029,"journal":{"name":"Central European Review of Economics & Finance","volume":"47 10","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"138948998","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is crucial to consider the scale of destruction and degradation of urban tissue, as well as the migration which occurred in the wake of the military operations. As a result, it is necessary to devise a specific programme of revitalisation which would use innovative organisational and guarantee instruments on a macro-, meso-, and microeconomic levels. The paper considers the factors which determine the aims of the municipal revitalisation policies, as well as their models, which include an analysis of degradation of urban areas as a step in the development of cities. The paper includes an examination of demographic factors, as well as those, which are associated with depopulation. In addition, the importance of urban infrastructure was highlighted in the process of revitalisation. Furthermore, the paper covers the analysis of literature regarding experiences in terms of using revitalisation clusters in degraded areas. The development of chosen clusters in cities in Western Europe was examined, having identified and evaluated basic conditioning factors of their use in revitalisation processes. Moreover, the importance of clusters was discussed, together with their possible use by establishing ‘Key National Cluster’ and, within its confines, ‘Regional Key Clusters’ in chosen oblasts in Ukraine according to their division into international areas of reconstruction. The scale of destruction and degradation of given areas of Ukraine was evaluated in terms of particular elements of revitalisation, together with the costs associated with reconstruction. This analysis covers the losses Ukraine experienced between July and December 2022.","PeriodicalId":442029,"journal":{"name":"Central European Review of Economics & Finance","volume":"113 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139253288","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Their operations focus mainly on organizing brokerage events, business mission conferences, etc. These events are to facilitate networking, learning about new industry trends, or exchanging experiences. The global COVID-19 pandemic has significantly curbed the effectiveness of innovation networks, forcing them to look for new forms of contact. Entrepreneurs from the energy industry who have so far actively participated in events organized by the EEN have also been affected. The article analyzes the impact of EEN pandemic on the activities of the EEN and its effectiveness, focusing mainly on the quantitative aspect of the impact of the crisis. In particular, it shows how the number of events organized, their structure and the effectiveness of EEN’s activities have changed, which is reflected in the number of cooperation contracts between entrepreneurs participating in the events. The paper compares the impact of the pandemic on the organization of all types of promotional events for companies in the energy industry. Furthermore, based on a case study, the article discusses the problems faced by innovation networks during the pandemic and those faced by companies in the energy industry. The results of the study clearly show a decrease in the number of events organized by innovation networks in times of crisis, but the decrease in energy-related events is not as significant as in events related to other industries. At the same time, the effectiveness of organized events increased.","PeriodicalId":442029,"journal":{"name":"Central European Review of Economics & Finance","volume":"15 3","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139253578","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The few articles defining what business pre-incubation is describe it as a service that enables an entrepreneur to test his or her business idea in real market conditions. The aim of this article will be to try to define and structure the concept of pre-incubation by pointing out its basic features, as well as to identify good practices for corporations that would decide to create a corporate incubator along the lines of the one described below. The objectives of the article will be achieved through an analysis of a pre-incubation project carried out at the end of 2021 and the beginning of 2022. The analysis will be carried out from the point of view of its participant, and through information from the organisers of this project in order to maintain a multi-faceted and broad view of the problematic of the concept of pre-incubation. By analysing existing definitions, listing the basic characteristics of pre-incubation and placing them in a real-life example, the conceptual and theoretical gap that exists in the science of about innovation, and the practical features of such a model of cooperation from the point of view of enterprises will be indicated.","PeriodicalId":442029,"journal":{"name":"Central European Review of Economics & Finance","volume":"87 8","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139252706","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The research concerned the analysis of changes in the structure of the loan portfolio in terms of sectors relevant to climate change (CPRS) broken down by groups (green, black, brown, dirty), industries (fossil fuels, utility-electricity, production, manufacturing, transportation, agriculture), and types of activity divided into sections. The CPRS methodology was applied (Battiston), which is used in EiOPA, ECB, EBA. The share of green exposures of the entire banking sector in 2013-2022 increased (to 49%) and the share of dirty exposures decreased (to 51%). Due to the link between the sections, the three pillars of industries with the greatest risk to transformation among the CPRS were: buildings, transportation and manufacturing.","PeriodicalId":442029,"journal":{"name":"Central European Review of Economics & Finance","volume":"63 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139252269","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
