A good ISA for a particular application should be able to address the issues of programmability, implementability, and compatibility. An application specific instruction set processor (ASIP) is a processor designed for a particular application. ISA customization is the process of integrating application specific ISEs (Instruction Set Extensions) into an ASIP's instruction set architecture. ISA customization pose a major challenge in realizing deigns for application specific processors. This paper is an attempt to investigate contemporary instruction set architectures and to identify issues in ISA customization for application specific instruction set processors.","PeriodicalId":442000,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Pervasive Computing (ICPC)","volume":"53 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-04-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126753343","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Detection of cancer in the early phase can provide more treatment options, less invasive surgery and increases the survival rate. For lung cancer, if the disease is detected in time, the survival rate of patient increases from 14 to 49% in recent 5 years. It is the most dangerous and widespread disease in the world. The cancer cells present in lung causes lung cancer disease. This cells detection is very important issue for medical researchers. The chances of an effective treatment will significantly increases with early detection. The Computed Tomography (CT) images are used which are more efficient than X-ray. MATLAB is widely used software for the study of lung cancer detection from CT scan images. The process includes image pre-processing, image segmentation, feature extraction and classification technique. This present work proposes a method to detect the cancerous cells effectively from the lung CT scan images. It will minimize the detection error made by the physicians' naked eye.","PeriodicalId":442000,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Pervasive Computing (ICPC)","volume":"10 4","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-04-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120999689","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In relentless working regions most of the time human efforts may lead to fiasco, industrial environment may include hazardous operations. Thus to avoid any ill effects we came up with an idea of “Intelligent Object Sorting Insolent System (IOSiS)”. In this paper we have enlightened the use of image processing, incorporated with robotics to demonstrate an application. IOSiS main object is to highlight the use of robotics to manipulate human functionality to ease tedious operations. A mechanical arm and for visual sensors, a camera is embedded onto the system. For demonstration of this application, capabilities a scenario is created in which the robot captures the image of the object and in accordance to its configuration it detects it and using the maneuverable arm, it places the object to desired location. The paper tackles multiple problems to become robust, autonomous and accurate to its functionality. With complex algorithms from image processing the data is manipulated into fast processing embedded application which produces an output on a real-time basis. To further accompany the autonomous nature of the system on field, a data logging and monitoring from a remote location via internet is also shown to explain the efficiency of this application. An internet logging shows its capabilities in being a part of centralized operation in any industry.","PeriodicalId":442000,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Pervasive Computing (ICPC)","volume":"64 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-04-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116616801","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

WSNs are composed of a large number of sensor nodes which have limited energy. Energy conservation is a very critical issue to design energy efficient routing techniques in wireless sensor networks. The paper reviews the traditional energy efficient protocols to improve cluster head selection approach. The proposed algorithm considers the sensor nodes residual energy to select optimal cluster head for next round of cluster head selection algorithm. The algorithm guarantees the entire network stays alive for longer time than the other existing energy efficient techniques. The proposed technique thus improves the overall performance of wireless sensor networks in terms of increasing the lifetime of sensor nodes, reducing the bandwidth consumption and latency of WSNs. Also balancing energy distribution among all nodes of the network increases the round number at which the first node dies which reduces the energy holes in WSNs.","PeriodicalId":442000,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Pervasive Computing (ICPC)","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-04-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121809587","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, medical information transmissions over the Internet still have to face all kinds of problem such as network bandwidth, integrity of data, image quality and security. Normally Medical images are in DICOM (Digital Imagine in Communication and Medicine) format. The DICOM technology is suitable when sending images between different departments within hospitals or/and other hospitals, and consultant. However, the header file to DICOM image adds additional size to the image. We have proposed new techniques of transforming DICOM format in to BMP(Bitmap Image file) format and divide data into two parts and embedding a patient data in an image in odd, number memory location of image pixel values. Fix length Huffman compression is applied to get lossless compressed image. This investigation mainly focuses on computing the data hiding capacity, Compression Ratio, Mean Square Error (MSE) and Peak to Signal Noise Ratio (PSNR) of medical images.","PeriodicalId":442000,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Pervasive Computing (ICPC)","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-04-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131318795","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Spectrum sensing is an important functionality of cognitive radio by which the CR can sense the spectrum in nearly real time and provide knowledge of white spaces in the spectrum. It is desired in general to sense the primary signal at very low signal strength i.e. low Signal to Noise ratio (SNR) especially when the CR network (CRN) is to be operated on TV white spaces.
