Since the energy spectrum of the vacuum fluctuations depends on distances between (and geometries of) physical bodies, the quantum vacuum exerts a small but experimentally detectable force on neutral objects. Usually, the associated Casimir energy is calculated for free or weakly coupled quantum fields. We review recent studies of the Casimir effect in field-theoretical models which mimic features of non-perturbative QCD such as chiral or deconfining phase transitions. We discuss ${{mathbb C}P}^{,N-1}$ sigma model and chiral Gross-Neveu model in (1+1) dimensions as well as compact U(1) gauge theory and Yang-Mills theory in (2+1) dimensions.","PeriodicalId":441384,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of XIII Quark Confinement and the Hadron Spectrum — PoS(Confinement2018)","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126620943","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To this end, we utilize lattice QCD data for the vector current for two mass-degenerate quark flavours and extract all longitudinal and transverse form factors of the underlying vertex for two off-shell kinematics. The momentum dependence of the form factors is compared to the solution of the inhomogeneous Bethe-Salpeter equation for the vertex in the rainbow-ladder approximation. Differences but also similarities are seen between our lattice and the truncated continuum results.","PeriodicalId":441384,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of XIII Quark Confinement and the Hadron Spectrum — PoS(Confinement2018)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132960911","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

How to identify gluonium states using QCD counting rules 如何使用QCD计数规则识别gluonium态

{"title":"How to identify gluonium states using QCD counting rules","authors":"F. Llanes-Estrada, S. Brodsky","doi":"10.22323/1.336.0262","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.22323/1.336.0262","url":null,"abstract":"Verifying the existence of bound states of gluons and distinguishing them from conventional quark-antiquark, hybrid or tetraquark states has remained a key problem in QCD. We show that QCD counting rules for the power-law fall-off of production cross sections at high momentum transfer can be used to distinguish gluonium states from conventional hadrons. The valence two-gluon contribution to a 0^+ gluonium bound state has L=0 and thus twist (dimension minus spin of their minimum interpolating operators) tau=2. The competing twist assignments for scalar f_0 mesons have twist tau = 3 for the valence |q qbar > configuration or |qqbar g> in an s-wave, and tau >= 4 for |q qbar qbar q > tetraquarks, etc. Thus, the production cross section for mesons with quark-containing valence wavefunctions relative to glueball production should be suppressed by at least a power of momentum transfer. Distinguishing these processes is feasible in exclusive e^-e^+ --> phi f_0 reactions at 9 and 11 GeV center of mass energy at Belle-II. In the case of single-particle inclusive hadroproduction A B --> C X, the cross section for scalar gluonium production at high transverse momentum p_T and fixed x_T = 2 p_T/sqrt(s) will dominate meson or tetraquark production by at least two powers of p_T.","PeriodicalId":441384,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of XIII Quark Confinement and the Hadron Spectrum — PoS(Confinement2018)","volume":"40 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115486456","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For simplicity, we study the SU(2) NAH theory with the Higgs triplet in a constant strong magnetic field $vec B$, where the lowest-Landau-level (LLL) approximation can be used. Without magnetic fields, charged vector fields $A_mu^pm$ have a large mass $M$ due to Higgs condensation, while the photon field $A_mu$ remains to be massless. In a strong constant magnetic field near and below the critical value $eB_c equiv M^2$, the charged vector fields $A_mu^pm$ behave as 1+1-dimensional quasi-massless fields, and give a strong correlation along the magnetic-field direction between off-diagonal charges coupled with $A_mu^pm$. This may lead a new type of confinement caused by charged vector fields $A_mu^pm$.","PeriodicalId":441384,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of XIII Quark Confinement and the Hadron Spectrum — PoS(Confinement2018)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129163847","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Algorithmic and theoretical progress in lattice calculations has enabled reliable numerical investigation of the spectrum below the strong decay threshold, while the study of charmonium resonances remains an open challenge. The main difficulty to overcome is the presence of many open decay channels which are coupled together, resulting in a complex finite volume quantization condition. We report on our recent progress towards the determination of single-channel and coupled-channel scattering matrices in the scalar and vector channels on CLS ensembles. We also present an update concerning the study of the charmonium spectrum in moving frames.","PeriodicalId":441384,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of XIII Quark Confinement and the Hadron Spectrum — PoS(Confinement2018)","volume":"55 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127041065","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

First, we report on the $sigma$ self-energy in the LSM, which is used as a benchmark in order to test the hypotheses carried out. The relation of that thermal pole with the scalar susceptibility is studied within a scalar saturation approach, which yields results complying with lattice data. The robustness and predictability of this method are studied in terms of the low-energy constants involved and the unitarization method. Our analysis highlights the importance of this thermal state to describe the main qualitative features of the scalar susceptibility around the chiral transition.","PeriodicalId":441384,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of XIII Quark Confinement and the Hadron Spectrum — PoS(Confinement2018)","volume":"474 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114489993","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
