Synthetic absorbent was prepared in laboratory using different processes, which have high adsorption capacities for effective removal of selected ions in a column chromatography. Chitosan-reduced graphene-SiO2 in a column was used as a potent adsorbent for this selected method and final results were compared with another approach using chitosan-SiO2 in a Photo Catalytic Reactor (PCR). PCR process is easier, but the removal efficiency is less when compared with the Fixed Bed Column (FBC). The removal percentage using fixed bed column with a potent adsorbent was greater than 60% whereas it is less than 35% using photocatalytic reactor. Adsorption of nitrate and phosphate from aqueous solutions on both photocatalytic reactor and continuous fixed-bed column are studied with effects of various parameters such as contact time, dosage of adsorbent and pH of the aqueous solutions. Absorbents were fabricated using sol-gel for nano silica, chitosan and thermal heating method for reduced graphene oxides. Out of these, fixed bed columns with chitosan-reduced graphene oxide - SiO2 performed better when compared with the chitosan-SiO2 in a photocatalytic reactor.","PeriodicalId":441295,"journal":{"name":"i-manager's Journal on Material Science","volume":"102 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132718636","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The synthesized materials were characterized by PXRD, FT-IR, and UV-visible analysis. The materials show better optical and structural properties, which are beneficial in the photocatalytic degradation studies. Under light, zinc oxide and graphite oxide were used to degrade the methyl orange solution. The prepared materials by sol-gel preparation showed enhanced catalytic activity in the photocatalytic activity of methyl orange. An optimal loading content of graphite oxide was investigated. The enhanced photocatalysis was studied in detail. The study provides a promising application for the photocatalytic degradation of organic pollutants in photocatalysis. In the present work, the authors included the new novel materials of ZnO. The ZnO is modified with the surface deposits of rGO. The combined materials of semiconductor materials show a better response to light for the degradation studies. The use of such a combination is a new study and the results reflect the modification of semiconductor materials in the p-block elements such as C, N, F, P and so on for the enhanced photocatalytic applications of semiconductor mediated materials, which are widely used in photocatalysis. The PXRD analysis of ZnO and rGO shows better crystallinity in the case of ZnO, whereas after the deposition of rGO, crystallinity is lost due to the overlap of the main base material semiconductors, which explains the new catalytic and recombination effects of the materials used.","PeriodicalId":441295,"journal":{"name":"i-manager's Journal on Material Science","volume":"127 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114645497","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

SrBaFexMo2-xO6 double perovskite was synthesized by sonochemical procedure at low temperature (9500C) under Ar/ H2 atmosphere. X-ray diffraction studies revealed a single phase with a cubic crystal structure for all the samples. The existence of all elements (Sr, Ba, Fe, Mo, O) contamination-free in the required percentage in SBFMO compound has been analyzed by Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (EDS). Goldschmidt Tolerance factor 't' has been used to quantitatively predict the stability 1 and closeness of A2BxB12-xO6. Density measurements for all samples of SrBaFexMo2-xO6 (x = 1.0, 1.1, 1.3 and 1.4) were done both theoretically and experimentally. Electron Spin Resonance (ESR) spectra of SrBaFexMo2-xO6 (x = 1.0, 1.1, 1.3 and 1.4) were studied to determine the iron state in the compound by varying magnetic field at a constant frequency (X-Band).","PeriodicalId":441295,"journal":{"name":"i-manager's Journal on Material Science","volume":"212 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114971758","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Enhancing these properties will increase the efficiency of drilling fluid and, hence, the wellbore damage will be controlled. Recent advancements show that the application of nanoparticles in drilling fluids will enhance their efficiency. This research investigates the influence of adding graphene nanoparticles on the performance of water-based drilling fluids. The main objective of this experiment was to investigate the effect of nanoparticles on water-based drilling mud with different concentrations of nanoparticles added to the mud.","PeriodicalId":441295,"journal":{"name":"i-manager's Journal on Material Science","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129889281","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The development of specialized polymer solutions optimizes the mobility ratio between the injected polymer solution and the oil or water bank being displaced in advance of the polymer. Because of its solid structure, lack of effect of salt on viscosity (unlike partially hydrolyzed polyacrylamide (HPAM), which has a salinity influence on viscosity), and lack of effect of high temperatures, xanthan gum, also known as polysaccharide biopolymer, is the most frequently utilized. This research investigates many properties of xanthan gum, as well as its effectiveness with other polymers and the modifications made to improve its performance.","PeriodicalId":441295,"journal":{"name":"i-manager's Journal on Material Science","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128196409","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
