A methodology of deformation prediction is based on a deterministic method using Finite Element Method (FEM). The FEM solution is based on the knowledge of the geomechanical properties of the various geological formations, tectonic faults, types of mining systems, and the complexity of the behaviour of the rock mass. The analysis gave the stress and displacement fields in the rock mass. Results of the analysis will allow for design of an optimal mining system. The analysis is illustrated by an example of the shaft R-VIII Rudna Mine KGHM Polish Copper SA.","PeriodicalId":43629,"journal":{"name":"Mining Science","volume":"22 1","pages":"23-32"},"PeriodicalIF":1.3,"publicationDate":"2015-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"91312317","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Phenomena are considered in terms of a non-Newtonian fluid, taking into account anomalies for small scales. Experiment on reviewing the movements that have a direct correlation with the deformation (strain) and stress. In the study, the maximum observed values were measured: the incremental displacement vector and finite displacement vector. These indicators together with the deformations can give us full information about the stress of the rock mass. Results of studies in relation to the larger scale could provide consistent information on the salt layer rheology and resistance or susceptibility to deformation of the underlying layers of the above. This would be important information during the construction of mines (for example: oil rig, pithead,mineshaft), drift mining and strip mining.","PeriodicalId":43629,"journal":{"name":"Mining Science","volume":"123 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.3,"publicationDate":"2015-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"74238962","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For location of one synthetic microseismic event, two methods of acquisition were applied: surface and downhole monitoring array. Downhole microseismic monitoring is a technique of recording induced seismicity using receivers placed in the monitoring well near to the treatment well. In case of surface monitoring receivers are placed at the surface. For determination of hypocenter location probability density function was used. Based on provided analysis it is concluded that for polish conditions it is better to use downhole microseismic monitoring. Event located with usage of this technique was located correctly and uncertainty of this location was lower.","PeriodicalId":43629,"journal":{"name":"Mining Science","volume":"22 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.3,"publicationDate":"2015-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"85585607","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Joints are the weakest element of the belt and should be taken aimed at eliminating the errors made that may be caused by multiple factors. Every breakdown generates additional costs in the company so this is important to decrease their number. All analyzed joints were made using belts with steel cords. The results were obtained from the Conveyor Transport Laboratory at the Wroclaw University of Technology. The assessment showed a significant impact of the working defects on joint strength. Also the trend analysis performed on the samples of regenerated belts showed a linear decrease in strength along with the degree of regeneration.","PeriodicalId":43629,"journal":{"name":"Mining Science","volume":"35 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.3,"publicationDate":"2015-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"79351416","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
