To advance a deeper understanding of these issues, however, requires a more conciliatory and interdisciplinary approach. The article offers just such an integrated approach, using a multi-level heuristic framework that has direct parallels with ecological modeling. In addition, the approach expands the analytic focus to reflect different aspects of complex human behavior, which include: 1) the behavioral investment framework, or the bio-psychological reality of the human animal; 2) the socialization framework, or the social psychological aspects of human learning and development; 3) the justification framework, or the language, knowledge, and meaning systems that one acquires to facilitate interpersonal communication and to justify one’s actions; 4) the social location framework, or the social interactional dynamics of interpersonal relationships that animate one’s daily life as a member of various groups and social networks; and 5) the societal context framework, or the broader institutional forms and sociocultural conditions within which individuals and groups are situated. The current approach bridges human neurophysiology and psychology with sociology in a developmental, ecological context that examines each dimension of human behavior. While the five dimensions can be separated analytically, in practice these overlap to exert multiple influences. Such a conciliatory framing permits a more comprehensive analysis of human social animals as situated within their natural environments. The paper outlines how each of the five levels contributes to expressions of interpersonal aggression by elaborating on key mechanisms that operate across the different levels of informational complexity. Several examples of empirical research are cited to illustrate the core principles that operate within and across the five complementary frameworks. In this sense, the main empirical studies that analyse the existing correlation between Self-determination and Quality of Life are summarized, to highlight the relevance that these constructs occupy in the sectors of education, special education, and public health. Following this file rouge, the delineation of educational paths aimed at the aid of innovative models and practices is envisaged, starting from the drafting of Individualized Educational Plans (IEP), a key tool for the design of inclusive teaching paths, based on the construction of self-determined people, causal agents of Quality Lives. Whilst the concerns are no doubt genuinely held, the questions that need to be answered are: What are the issues of concern? Are they unique to the BRI, or do they apply to all International Financial Institutions (IFIs)? Developing countries desperately need funds to achieve the 17 Sustainable Development Goals. They largely depend on International Financial Institutions (IFIs) such as the World Bank Group, Asian Development Bank, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank. In addition, grants and loans can be provided by individual donor countries. Despite the number of IFIs, funds are limited, especially for major projects such as ports and airports. Examples from Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Thailand are provided to discuss the issues surrounding BRI projects in these jurisdictions. The most benefits to the country will come with the maximum level of involvement of all levels of society in the project. Nonetheless, China has made some miss-steps along the way. An increasing number of citizens have distanced themselves from politics and its party drift and have ceased to recognize themselves in it and in its institutional representatives. This process has pushed the subjects towards individualistic orientations and privatization of the experience. The increasingly low level of political culture of the citizens, both outcome and cause of the growing disaffection and deresponsibilization, exposes to the risk of an increasingly demagogic, populist and low democratic policy. The last decades, therefore, have undermined the conditions for the existence of a “critical citizen”, a priority objective to ensure fully democratic decision-making and government processes. The goal of a full and widespread democratic participation requires training courses of political culture, starting from a rethinking and a redesign of the times and spaces of training so that widespread conditions of learning knowledge and skills elicitation for a full voice are guaranteed Keywords: democracy, participation skills, third spaces, cities, complexity","PeriodicalId":436149,"journal":{"name":"Athens Journal of Social Sciences","volume":"66 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127239025","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Nurses’ exhaustion and decisions to change jobs are major challenges to the social and health care field. The purpose of this study was to chart home care employees’ experiences of collegial peer support during the pandemic. The study questions were what is employees’ collegial peer support like? And how could collegial peer support be developed? This study is part of a national project. The data were collected through themed group interviews conducted via the Teams platform. The participants were 15 nurses who work in the Pirkanmaa region. The data were analyzed through inductive content analysis. The home care nurses’ collegial peer support is based on trust and is visible as peer support that reinforces employee agency, multichannel communication and a customer-focused, organization-based approach. The respondents wished for supervisors’ support, official permission and training in experimenting with different forms of peer support. Through this study, collegial peer support in nursing has been made visible and modelled on a new conceptual level. The organization-based peer support that rose as part of the results offers an important perspective on the growing labor shortage in the social and health care field. The opportunities offered by collegial peer support between social and health care professionals require further study. The participants of the research were composed of the school administrators and teachers and joined voluntarily to the research. In the research, the purposeful sampling method has been used. The research groups were composed of 300 administrators and teachers. This research is a study in the relational screening (survey) model. The research is both descriptive and explanatory in terms of its purpose because in the theoretical framework learning organizations, communication skills, organizational support, and job satisfaction have been addressed in all their parts and tried to be defined concerning all the various perspectives and approaches. In the research, the data were collected with a scale. According to the results of the research, it was not found statistically meaningful that the learning organization practices had a relationship/regression on the job satisfaction perceptions, and the organizational support provided to the administrators and teachers and their communication skills did not mediate to the job satisfaction in the educational organizations. Many scholars were investigating those concepts, and attempted to define them and estimate whether they retain explanatory value in contemporary situations of accelerated evolution of international system. Within the system governed by anarchy, those two prepositions were considered partial resolution to destructive tendencies generated within the international environment. Albeit those resolutions, it seems similar, their application required different conditions in order to become effective. Every mentioned above system is a complex and adequate answer to challenge posed by different set of features and variables generated by particular iteration of international system. The question remains: preconditions to occurrence of which system will be generated by late-Westphalian and subsequent generation of international environment? Contemporary iteration projects many individual characteristics, with regard to complexity, globalization and historical acceleration. One of the possible solutions to this issue is the recently introduced concept of Hyperpower, which could be positioned as a system in between those mentioned above. However its creation embraces new quality of international relations not yet encountered during course of history. This paper will be dedicated to the investigation of this concept and its usefulness for scientific analysis of contemporary international relations. Hyperpower embraces geopolitics and transnational in equal measures. It is product of a so-called “virtualization of state” and encompasses tools for effective interaction in both spheres of international environment. It is a generally much more passive system than mentioned above. Its activation consumes astounding amount of resources. Therefore, its primary application is in most cases passive, strictly limited to the shaping of the perception of remaining elements of international system. This approach is characterized by the use of algorithms to extract knowledge from large and heterogeneous data sets. In this paper we will focus our attention on its possible applications in the social sciences and, in particular, on its potential in the data analysis procedures. In this regard, we will provide an example of application on sociological data to assess the impact of ML in the study of relationships between variables. The purpose of this qualitative study was to clarify how functional remote leadership works from the perspective of superiors and to gain new information on the functionality and development needs of remote leadership. The data consisted of the material collected via a group-based themed interview, memoranda written by members of the training groups and assignments submitted by the participants. The data were analyzed through material-driven content analysis. The results show that remote leadership is based on the same principles as good leadership in general: communality, trust, interaction and clear ground rules. When these sections are in order, remote leadership works. Positive sides of remote leadership that emerged include faster, real-time sharing of information and the decoupling of work from a specific place. Work was seen as more efficient and productive. The greatest challenges to remote leadership are problems related to technology, such as failing programs and devices, constant changes and a lack of guidance. Remote leadership was seen as increasing anonymity and distance within the workplace. Superiors felt that physical meetings were needed to support remote leadership. Central development proposals included familiarizing people with the culture of remote leadership and increasing knowledge and use of various programs and devices. There is also a need to clarify the ground rules, scheduling and practices of remote conferences and to constantly gather feedback on the functionality of remote leadership. Teaching about remote leadership as part of basic studies in the social and health care field would prepare future professionals to being led remotely.
