The reactive power markets, regardless the obvious importance, have not received significant research and development attention so far. Recent studies concern the characteristics of such markets focusing almost exclusively on the producers' viewpoint. In this paper we propose to study the effect of reactive power at the consumer side and the price that has to pay. Experiments exhibiting the interaction of the reactive and active energy markets are presented and analyzed through a simple IEEE bus configuration and a case study of a power grid with a total of approximately 30000 households with varying energy requirements and distributed energy producers.","PeriodicalId":433872,"journal":{"name":"2015 6th International Conference on Information, Intelligence, Systems and Applications (IISA)","volume":"20 5","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-07-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132398314","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In order to meet the increasing performance requirements of such systems, PostgreSQL OSS Community enforced PostgreSQL version 9.4 parallel execution framework introducing the Dynamic Shared Memory and the Dynamic Background Workers. However, the Dynamic Shared Memory does not guarantee that shared data are mapped to the same address space in the processes and thus data with pointers cannot be straightly shared without local copies. In this paper we propose a new shared memory framework called Shared MemoryContext that provides a shared memory mapped to the same address to all processes. It enables an efficient parallel processing in PostgreSQL by avoiding unnecessary data copies of inter-process shared data. The Shared MemoryContext interface is compatible with PostgreSQL's MemoryContext interface and thus existing PostgreSQL routines can be used for parallel processing without modification.","PeriodicalId":433872,"journal":{"name":"2015 6th International Conference on Information, Intelligence, Systems and Applications (IISA)","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-07-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123600880","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The goal of the MCHBAP is to minimize the total costs of waiting and handling, as well as earliness or tardiness of completion, for all vessels. It is well known that this kind of problem is NP hard. The main problem one faces when dealing with the MCHBAP is a large number of infeasible solutions. In order to overcome this problem, we propose an EA implementation adapted to the problem that involves four types of mutation operator and two additional improvement strategies, but no crossover operator. The proposed EA implementation is benchmarked on real life test instances. Our computational results show that the proposed EA method is able to find optimal solutions for real life test instances within relatively short running time, having in mind the nature of the considered problem.","PeriodicalId":433872,"journal":{"name":"2015 6th International Conference on Information, Intelligence, Systems and Applications (IISA)","volume":"60 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-07-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122287848","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The slog model introduces diagonal segments into orthogonal drawings and restricts crossings exclusively to these diagonal segments. Additionally, the traditional 90° bends of orthogonal drawings are replaced by so called half-bends. While the slog model is restricted to graphs of maximum vertex degree four, the Kandinsky model allows arbitrary vertex degree. By combining the two approaches we can profit from the advantages of both models, namely arbitrary vertex degree and increased readability. Since we seek drawings of non-planar graphs, we adopt the topology-shape-metrics (TSM) approach. Motivated by a recent complexity result that shows that the problem of minimizing the total number of bends is NP-hard even for plane graphs [1], we give an ILP formulation that results in Sloginsky drawings that are optimal in terms of the total number of bends. We also perform experiments and discuss properties of the new model.","PeriodicalId":433872,"journal":{"name":"2015 6th International Conference on Information, Intelligence, Systems and Applications (IISA)","volume":"86 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-07-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124754129","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Such training is of particular importance for teams that operate under tight time constraints in highly stressful conditions, such as that found in medicine. Here we describe our first steps towards developing a virtual learning environment (simulation) specifically aimed at ICCT for pediatric critical care teams. Our virtual learning environment employs a tabletop computing platform with novel image-based sensing technologies to enable collaboration and interaction amongst a group of trainees while promoting a learner-centric approach where the simulation is tailored specifically to the needs of each trainee.","PeriodicalId":433872,"journal":{"name":"2015 6th International Conference on Information, Intelligence, Systems and Applications (IISA)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-07-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130144208","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is necessary to maintain the quality of life, business and economical stability of the city. However, the development of the transport system or its radical transformation is a large-scale investment, which is not always easy to decide, especially in the face of uncertainty: lack of knowledge about the process and fluctuations in the economy. Deficient of transport services aspects study will inevitably lead to losses of life quality. Thereby the development of methods for optimizing the route network of public transport, which will link the demand and supply of transport services, is an urgent task. In this paper, we propose a new approach to the construction and refinement of the ontological model of knowledge representation about the city transport system using cognitive modeling.","PeriodicalId":433872,"journal":{"name":"2015 6th International Conference on Information, Intelligence, Systems and Applications (IISA)","volume":"50 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-07-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127254426","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
