Berdnik","doi":"10.1109/ICATT.2011.6170740","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1109/ICATT.2011.6170740","url":null,"abstract":"The problem concerning the creation of the radiation field with circular polarization in the certain direction by turnstile antenna, consisting of the impedance vibrators, excited cophasedly, has been solved on the basis of the solution of the problem about radiation of the thin impedance vibrator over the perfectly conducting plane. The length and the value of the surface impedance of one vibrator are fixed at this, and the problem conditions are satisfied by fitting the length and the surface impedance of the other vibrator. The special case, when a perfectly conducting vibrator is used as a tuning radiator, has been considered. Frequency band expansion according to the criteria of a matching is achieved by applying a three-layered dielectric, resonator with a translucent wall and additional extra scatterers. 41% bandwidth is provided for the matching level VSWR < 2. These polarizers transform the dominant mode of input rectangular waveguide into an elliptically polarized wave of output square waveguide. The phase-shifting module is realized on the basis of one or two sections of a square waveguide having two diagonally placed square ridges. The dielectric layer is parallel to wide walls of a waveguide. It is shown that not resonant system of longitudinal slots in a waveguide with a dielectric layer is more wideband in comparison with that in a hollow waveguide. For not resonant system of transversal slots possibility of scanning without interference maxima occurrence is shown. The developed antenna has compact dimensions and operates in a wide frequency range that fully covers the WiFi (2.4–2.4835 GHz) range. The problem of excitation of the proposed quadrifilar spiral antenna is solved with the help of the balancing and matching device introduced in the report.
