Over the course of time, scholars and professionals have increasingly recognized the significance of emotional regulation in the workplace and developed a deeper appreciation for its associated advantages. The growth and development of service businesses are contingent upon the proficient administration of emotional labour. The necessity to have a comprehensive understanding of the factors that contribute to the well-being of employees especially the academics is increasing. Given the considerable impact of work on individuals’ lives, it is imperative to acquire knowledge on strategies for maintaining and improving overall well-being within the professional setting. It is on this basis the current theoretical paper x-ray opinions underpinned by scholars on issues surrounding emotional labor and authenticity. The paper revealed that employees have the option to utilize three distinct acting mechanisms, namely surface acting, deep acting, and genuine acting to effectively engage in emotional labour. The study also indicated that there was a significant impact of emotional labour on the concept of academic authenticity. The practical implications of the current research therefore, encompass the need for educational institutions’ management to consider the incorporation of genuine emotions within the framework of emotional labour as well as the possible advantages of stress management training in understanding and predicting job-related outcomes.","PeriodicalId":433477,"journal":{"name":"AKSU Journal of Management Sciences","volume":"110 5","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139273173","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study brings to needs the nexus between demographics diversity management and employees performance, using Leadway Assurance Company Limited, Lagos State, Nigeria. Review of different literatures was made, and the study methodology is descriptive research design. Questionnaire from two hundred and nine (209) participants using taro-yamane statistical module form the sample size determination through simple random sampling. The population of study comprises of four hundred and forty -one (441) employees using Chi-square as Statistical tool of analysis. The findings revealed that demographics diversity is multi-faceted; the results show that the null hypotheses (HO) in hypothesis one and two were significantly rejected due to the reason that, the computed Chi-square value for both hypotheses are higher than the chi square table value at 5% level of significance (179.48 > 9.49 and 103.54 >9.49 respectively), with no exception of hypothesis three (experience qualification) that show positive relationship, because computed value of Chi-square(119.37) is higher than the table value of Chi-square(9.49). The conclusion establish is that, not only employee’s experiences qualification impact positively on performance, but, other examined variables in the study does establish nexus between demographics diversity management and employee’s performance. The study in specific terms model’s stock price fluctuations against economic growth and insecurity, exchange rate, interest rate, inflation rate, stock price movement against GDPGR in Nigeria. To achieve the above objectives, the study employs the ex-post facto research design. Quarterly time series data were obtained from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) statistical Bulletins using already available data from 1985 - 2019. The data were analyzed via the aids of econometric techniques such as the descriptive statistics test, the Augmented Dickey-fuller (ADF) unit root test, Correlation matrix and Heteroskedasticity ARCH effect, granger causality, the GARCH (1,1) model and ARDL model for estimations. Findings from the analysis shows price fluctuations had positive and significant effect on growth of the Nigerian Economy. Also, it was opined that insecurity, interest rate, inflation rate, exchange rate, and GDPGR have long-run significant effects on share price volatilities in Nigeria. Finally, it was revealed insecurity, interest rate, inflation, exchange rate and GDPGR have a long-run significant effects on share price fluctuations in Nigeria. On the bases of this finding studies recommended that Authority through its agencies should formulate working document that would stabilize macroeconomic variables and by extension reduce the fluctuation of the stock price as this is required to enhance confidence amongst investors in the market. Also, that the CBN should design and implement policy instruments that would stabilize interest rate to promote significant short run investments and sustain the long run benefits of investments in Nigeria. Government should expedite efforts to reduce the rate of inflations and stabilize the price of goods and services as this promises greater savings and encourages investments which will translate into economic growth.
