Cities that once functioned as dominant industrial centers have faced severe population loss and subsequent social and environmental challenges during the process of economic restructuring. This study aims to identify the common patterns of industrial transition and demographic changes at the city level to determine the factors of growth and decline of industrial cities from a global comparative perspective. Statistical data on industry and population from 1950 to 2010 in the US, Japan, and Koreaare collected at the city level. Cities are classified according to industrial characteristics (dominance, type, and composition of industries) and demographic change patterns (continued increase, peak, recent decline, continued decline, slowdown, recovery, and steady); a comparative analysis is conducted in each classified group. The results of the study suggest relevant issues between Japan and Korea industrial cities to prepare strategies for imminent industrial transition and management of urban areas with the cooperation of local stakeholders. This should enable past and present industrial cities to achieve sustainable development for future transformation.","PeriodicalId":433092,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Social Transformation and Regional Development","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116832924","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The recent emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic has increased societal stress levels through disruptions in daily work routines, adoption of new norms, low viral predictability, loss of source of income, death of loved ones, long-covid symptom, and subsequently being pushed to cope with a global economic crisis. It is believed that an endemic crisis will have a grave impact on everyone. Therefore, preparedness for disasters at individual, community and organisational levels are important to reduce disaster risk and minimising their impacts. The existing evidence on the application of behavioural coping models on disaster and emergency preparedness is predominantly from developed countries. The purpose of this study is to provide an overview of the existing behavioural models on the subject, and also to present cross cultural issues that may contribute to ways of understanding the community’s coping behaviour during a disaster. Following a discussion of their utility in developing countries such as Malaysia, this paper first discusses how cultural characteristics influence a community’s behaviour to cope with the unprecedented events. It then reviews how behavioural model can be applied to reduce risk-or to cope with the stress of a natural disaster. Future research on behavioural model addressing preparedness needs to focused on developing countries where there is a high probabilityof lacked coping capacity.","PeriodicalId":433092,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Social Transformation and Regional Development","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126891797","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The status of villages is very disadvantaged, (2), underdeveloped villages (3), developing villages (4), advanced villages and (5), independent villages. The villages in the border areas are really cause for concern. Based on the size of the Village Development Index (IDM) 2020, the number of villages on theborder that have underdeveloped status and are very disadvantaged is very dominant. Wirajaya village is the only village in Jasinga District that is included in the category of underdeveloped villages with an IDM in 2020 of 0.5819. Sampling was done by collecting data on all economic, social and environmental aspects. Each indicator has a score. The score was determined using the Analitycal Hierarchy Process (AHP) method. The calculation of the index on each dimension is carried out using the scoring method which is then transformed into an index. The social resilience index consists of 4 indicators: health, education, social capital, and housing. Health indicators have the lowest contribution of 0.57. The economic resilience index consists of 6 indicators,namely, indicators of diversity in production, trade, distribution access, access to credit, economic institutions, regional openness. Of the six indicators, the lowest contribution is the logistic distribution access indicator, which is 0.00. The environmental resilience index consists of 3 indicators, namely, environmental quality indicators, disaster-prone potential and disaster response. Of the three indicators, the lowest contribution is the disaster-prone potential indicator of 0.00.","PeriodicalId":433092,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Social Transformation and Regional Development","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133412022","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study uses an appropriate literature review method so that the results of the study are in the form of an overview based on a critical analysis of the subject matter of the benefits of prescriptive analytics in the field of Islamic education management. The main issues discussed in this study include a prescriptive analytics approach as an educational policy analysis approach, a prescriptive approach model in education policy analysis, and the advantages and disadvantages of a prescriptive approach in education policy analysis. This study finds that a project manager must undertake prescriptive analytics today and in the Industry 4.0 era. However, managers have a weakness in skills in this area because the future of data analysis is prescriptive, despite the impact of the obligation to change management. Research advises educationmanagers to realize that prescriptive analytics is not always correct. Prescriptive analytics products can only be applied to one educational institution. However, the domino effect of prescriptive analytics has many benefits for educational institutions,both tangible and intangible.","PeriodicalId":433092,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Social Transformation and Regional Development","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123276511","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The education system changed from a conventional landscape to online one for fulfil sustainability of the education system. Even so, there are weaknesses and deficiencies including smooth interaction and communication involving lecturers and students. This study examines three main objectives which are to identify the level of interaction between students and lecturers, to identify the level of interaction between students and students and to study the distribution of changes in action research interventions. This study uses a quantitative approach using questionnaire instruments. The findings ofthe study were analysed descriptively by viewing at the mean value, frequency and percentage. A total of 45 students from one section of the Malaysian Nationality and Development Introductory Course for the entry of the special semester of 2021. The results of the study showed that student interaction experienced positive changes based on the pre-and post-test findings. The distribution of action research findings also presented a decent improvement between the pre-and post-test. This evidently proves that interventions that emphasize the aspect of flexibility are effective and change the perception of student interaction satisfaction while learning online.","PeriodicalId":433092,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Social Transformation and Regional Development","volume":"95 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128724231","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

People and governments may now effectively integrate formerly unsurmountable gaps in their relationships thanks to advances in digital and information technologies. \"Smart City\" technologies are not a new term in today's urbanizationdevelopment field; however, this \"Smart City\" technologies term is likely unfamiliar with the rural area, as the rural area is sometimes assumed to perform poorly in the development of innovative city initiatives, which are mostly being pioneered by the local government authority with a focus on a city or urban region. Citizens can now participate in decision-making and policy-making due to the smart city project initiative, which cannot be disregarded entirely; unfortunately, rural population participation remains limited. This conceptual research aims to examine smart city project aspirations for the rural community public participation framework. The author comprehends the importance of including significant public participation in all parts of the planning process. The methodology behind this researchis based on a detailed study of the scholarly literature that has already been done. The conclusions of the research were derived from a number of different reading materials, such as books, journals, and other sources on smart city programsfor public participation in rural areas.","PeriodicalId":433092,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Social Transformation and Regional Development","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126109032","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The changes have resulted in dynamics and shifts in several fields, such as spatial, social, economic, and cultural fields. This paper tries to see the changes in society due to globalization with the entry of Foreign Manufacturing Companies (FMC) in Indonesia. These changes occurred in several fields, suchas economic, social, and cultural. This research was conducted on the people of Jepara, who started the arrival of FMC within a decade. By using qualitative research and an ethnographic approach by conducting in-depth observations and interviews with the community around the factory and local leaders. The results show that the entry of FMC around 2013 brought changes in spatial planning, with much land being converted. In addition, a significant change for the people of Jepara is the absorption of many productive workers, ultimately increasing their economy. However, the existence of the FMC also provides a lifestyle change, namely by changing the culture of the community, especially in socializing with the surrounding environment, hedonism, and disorder indriving. The above changes should be a serious concern from the relevant agencies or institutions so that Jepara becomes a conducive and adaptive area as an industrial area without losing the local wisdom of its people, namely a society that is always simple, religious, and optimistic.","PeriodicalId":433092,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Social Transformation and Regional Development","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117048508","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
