With some overlapping and contradicting results a number of studies have demonstrated that there is an interrelation between colors and emotions. Some studies conclude that colors and other aesthetic effects are strong emotion triggers inducing affective reaction when interacting with interfaces or webpages. Our study tests color-emotion mappings in interface environments within a modified framework of Ou et al. (2004a, b, c) applying a rating task in an in-group quasi-experimental setting for colors selected from a typical color scheme (MS Paint 7 Palette) used in digital environments. We have characterized and grouped the tested colors with respect to evaluation tendencies regarding emotion association pairs - polar adjectives used in the rating task. Correlations between colors that are evaluated similarly with respect to emotion association pairs as well as emotion association pairs evaluated similarly with respect to the tested colors have also been detected and discussed in the study. The study contributes to the interrelated areas of interface usability and design analysis, usability improvement, and interface color categorization. Plant disease, such as apple and pear scab, control is a crucial issue of fruit-growing. Apple and pear are among the most widely grown (approximately 43% of all fruit tree area) and economically important fruit crops worldwide and in Latvia. Research projects have produced research data covering various aspects of plant-pathogen interactions, but there is no internal linkage analysis, as well as implementation of other types of data (such as environmental and meteorological data, etc.). Establishing such a data integration system would allow the identification of new regularities in plant-pathogen interactions, and provide mechanisms for disease control decisions. In this study an expert system was developed aimed to help professional fruit-growers evaluate the possible impact of apple and pear scab to the plant health and yield quality. The aim of this study was to analyse the information security awareness of librarians in the three Baltic countries – Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania – in seven focus areas, which were password management, use of email, use of the Internet, use of social media, use of devices, handling of information and incident prevention and handling. The study was conducted among librarians in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. A total of 1,217 librarians from the public, special, school and research libraries of the three Baltic countries responded to the survey. Pearson correlation, average scores and descriptive statistics were used to achieve the research objective. The results revealed that Estonian librarians are more cyber-aware than their Latvian and Lithuanian colleagues, but everyone has their weaknesses. Flipped learning is one of the types of blended learning in which technology combines with traditional education. Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) and active learning methods are vital components of flipped learning. Both of them significantly impact the learning environment. In the flipped learning approach, the teacher uses technologies to prepare tasks that students do outside the classroom as homework and organizes an active learning process, provides feedback, and formative assessment during in-class work. Flipped learning is a widespread approach globally, and there are numerous studies focused on flipped learning in upper-secondary and higher education in different subject areas. Unfortunately, little research supports the incorporation of flipped learning in the elementary classroom and ICT tools appropriate for elementary school students. Therefore, the aim of the study is to analyse conditions that have been considered to select ICT tools for flipped learning, video publishing and collaboration in the lesson, and to evaluate elementary school students' ability to use ICT tools. There are many practical tools available to enable teachers to create a collaborative environment. Even though the technology is constantly changing, the tools presented here will give teachers an insight into incorporating and using technology when developing students-paced learning process at home and an active, collaborative learning environment in the classroom.
