Several studies have shown the importance of appropriate perturbation signal for the nonlinear system applications. This study focuses on a nonlinear modelling for steam temperature using Pseudo Random Binary Signal (PRBS) and Multi-level Pseudo Random Sequence (MPRS) perturbation signals. A Binary Particle Swarm Optimisation (BPSO) algorithm was utilised in the model structure selection for polynomial Nonlinear Auto-Regressive with eXogenous (NARX) input for Steam Distillation Pilot Plant (SDPP). Three model’s selection criteria were examined; Akaike Information Criterion (AIC), Model Descriptor Length (MDL), and Final Prediction Error (FPE). The performance analysis included output model analysis and model validation of the nonlinear model. The results demonstrated fewer number of input and output lags and lesser amount of output model parameter using MPRS perturbation signal compared with PRBS. Model validation showed high R-squared and low MSE for both signals’ application.","PeriodicalId":432464,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE Conference on Systems, Process and Control (ICSPC)","volume":"140 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126633044","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The evaluations of MAs which are normally in form of extrinsic feedback (EF) such as existence of the technique patterns, speed of accomplishing the techniques and level of confidence however are still focusing on conventional method due to there is a few research on EF for MAs evaluation using advanced technologies. Even Frame-Based Rules Ranges (FBRR) approach using motion capture technology have been implemented to measure the sequence of steps in MA techniques, the remaining rules in the sequence are diverse which make it difficult to determine the existence of steps and to produce EF. Therefore, a standardised minimal value for each rule (MinRule) of FBRR has been proposed in this paper to become as a main reference for measuring the existence of steps in the sequence. TEN MA performers have been involved to test MinRule by executing FOUR selected techniques in SSCM. The MinRule for the FOUR techniques have been successfully produced, evaluated and compared. Using FBRR approach with the produced MinRule, its’ accuracy has achieved very high result, thus can be used to measure the sequence of steps as well as to produce EF for MA.","PeriodicalId":432464,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE Conference on Systems, Process and Control (ICSPC)","volume":"94 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133513569","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this study, 20 participants of different arch types volunteered. The participants were required to run on the treadmill at three different speed with the FSR sensors placed under the sole of the shoes. Two sensors used, one at forefoot and one at rear foot. Only left foot was examined through this study. The data were analysed to compare the foot pressure of individuals during running and to analyze the effect of speed on the voltage measured with different arch types. The rear foot showed higher pressure value compared to the fore foot.","PeriodicalId":432464,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE Conference on Systems, Process and Control (ICSPC)","volume":"2 ","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114091058","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The AE signal were obtained from faulty control valve that experienced three stages of leakage; minor, critical and damaged. Analysis using Wavelet Packet Transform is expected to reveal AE characteristics at different leakages. The selection criteria for mother wavelet to be used in WPT is based on Energy to Shannon entropy ratio. Four mother wavelets were used for selection: Daubechies, Symlet, Biorthogonal and Coiflet. Mother wavelet with the highest Energy to Shannon entropy ratio is chosen for further analysis.","PeriodicalId":432464,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE Conference on Systems, Process and Control (ICSPC)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114977599","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, an early stage fire detection algorithm has been introduced using Fuzzy k- Nearest Neighbour (FkNN). The tests were made on normally available seven fire sources and three building structure resources. All the test samples were scorched in a vacuum oven at various temperature points, pushed out using vacuum pumps to be sniffed by the electronic nose. The experiments were done in a confined room with monitored temperature and humidity level. Time domain data were sampled. Prior to be given to the classifier, the smellprints were normalised and the features were extracted. Experimental classification results show that the integration of fuzzy logic into conventional kNN has enhanced the accuracy of the classifier and gave excellent consistency, nonetheless of humidity and temperature disparity, baseline sensor errors, the diverse emission concentration range and varied scorching temperature levels. The average classification precision for the classification system is 96.15%.","PeriodicalId":432464,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE Conference on Systems, Process and Control (ICSPC)","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132720566","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Its first and foremost target is to attack the human respiratory system and to disturb its normal functioning by affecting most specific part of the respiratory system i.e. lungs. It becomes difficult to breathe properly with the affected lungs and if not timely treated, the severity of the disease can increase and it can lead to death. According to the recent reports, millions of lives are compromised due to tuberculosis every year especially in the less developed areas of the world. Due to less medical awareness and facilities in such areas, the timely diagnostic and treatment of tuberculosis are also less likely. Developed countries have better medical awareness and facilities thus the prevalence of the disease is controlled by timely diagnosis and treatment. To improve the figures in countries having the highest tuberculosis reported cases and less medical facilities timely diagnosis is the key. Chest x-rays are found to be the most economical and widely used technique to detect the presence of tuberculosis even in areas with very few medical facilities. CAD-based tuberculosis diagnostic system using chest x-rays can really help in improving the number of timely diagnosed and treated patients every year. An overview of CAD-based tuberculosis diagnostic systems is presented in this research article.","PeriodicalId":432464,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE Conference on Systems, Process and Control (ICSPC)","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128001826","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
