The referenced articles were published between 2010-2021 in English or Indonesian. The search was performed using PubMed and PMC database with keywords “(((Evaluation) AND (Presurgical)) AND (Dental Implant)) AND (Radiograph)) AND (Panoramic)” and Science Direct with keywords "presurgical evaluation dental implant in panoramic radiograph". Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-analysis Scoping Review (PRISMA-Scr) was utilized to perform the article finding process. It is found that the height of alveolar bone after being assessed by panoramic radiograph is between 7.95-23.42 mm while the alveolar bone width is between 7.04-10.41 mm. \u0000Conclusion: Panoramic radiograph can be performed to evaluate bone height and width before the dental implant placement procedure.

The patient was experiencing continuous bleeding. Systemic and allergic history was denied. Extraoral examination showed bruising with no facial asymmetry. Intraoral examination revealed a vertical gap between teeth 42 and 43, the jaw within the site was mobile, and active bleeding especially from lingual lacerations. After consulting with Dental Surgery Specialist, the emergency room doctor gave interdental wiring. After 2 months post wiring, a CBCT photo evaluation was carried out. \u0000Conclusion: The mandibular fracture in this case report was well identified by clinical examination and supported by panoramic radiography. The CBCT result demonstrated a large radiolucent lesion at the periapical of tooth 37 with a mostly diffuse border that extended posteriorly to the ramus. There was a cortical thinning on the lingual side alveolar bone. Long-term usage of highly active antiretroviral medication results in decreased bone quality in HIV patients (HAART). Digital panoramic images are useful for radiomorphometric analysis of the mandibular macrostructure. Mandibular bone is a bone quality analysis that is often performed. \u0000Materials and Methods: This study comprised 86 digital panoramic radiographs of pediatric HIV patients and healthy persons. Secondary data in the form of digitized conventional panoramic radiographs of 43 pediatric HIV patients and 43 healthy individuals without clinical symptoms of HIV disease were utilized as a reference. \u0000Results: Mandibular morphometry values by sex in children with HIV and healthy adults showed (MCI) p-value 0.009, (GMI) p-value 0.934, (GI) p-value 0.584, (Go-Co) p-value 0.090, and (Co-M) p-value 0.919. Meanwhile, the results of the study with mandibular morphometric values between children with HIV and healthy individuals index based on age revealed (MCI) p-value 0.490, (GMI) p-value 0.657, (GI) p-value 0.080, (Go-Co) p-value 0.147, (Co-M) p-value 0.158 \u0000Conclusion: Mandibular morphology differed between HIV-infected children and healthy persons as measured by digital panoramic radiographs, with changes in mandibular resorption thickness, mandibular bone width, and mandibular bone thickness. The inclusion criteria were original article, case report, and textbook written in English and Bahasa Indonesia, published within 2011-2021. The exclusion criteria were articles that the full text could not be accessed, research article that did not provide the methods used, and duplication articles. In this narrative review, a total of 33 literatures consisting of 30 articles and three textbooks reviewed, including four original articles on CNN for caries detection. \u0000Conclusion: Results of the review reveal that GoogLeNet produces the best detection compared to Fully Convolutional Network (FCN) and U-Net for caries detection in bitewing and periapical radiographs. Nonetheless, the positive predictive value (PPV), recall, negative predictive value (NPV), specificity, F1-score, and accuracy values in these architectures indicate good performance. The differences of each CNN’s performances to detect caries are determined by the number of trained datasets, the architecture’s layers, and the complexity of the CNN architectures. The conclusion of this review is CNN can be used as an alternative to detect caries, increasing the diagnostic accuracy and time efficiency as well as preventing errors due to dentist fatigue. Yet the CNN is not able to substitute the expertise of a radiologist. Therefore, it is need to be revalidated by the radiologist to avoid diagnostic errors.
