The samples were analyzed for thirty one elements, out of which major elements were K and Ca. Al, Fe, Ni, Mg, Mn, Sb, Sn and Zn were observed to be present in the smaller quantities. Nonmetals such as S, P and Si were detected in almost all the samples. The samples also showed presence of rare earth metals like W, Zr, Y, Ag, Sr, Rb, Nb and Mo. Toxic metals like Hg and As were not detected in any of the samples, while traces of Cd and Pb were found to be present in four samples each. With the absence of toxic elements coffee can be considered a safe beverage. Detection of radioactive elements U and Th in the coffee samples is an important finding of this research work. Results of elemental analysis of the analyzed coffee samples were correlated to the soil analysis data of their geographical origins. There have been good correlations between elements reported in the soil and those detected in the coffee samples. The motive of the research work is to bring out the goodness of coffee in terms of their elemental composition and also their variation with regard to their geographical origin.","PeriodicalId":431351,"journal":{"name":"Madridge Journal of Analytical Sciences and Instrumentation","volume":"67 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-08-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123680655","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Water samples collected in three stations of Adriatic Sea (Vlora Bay, Port of Durres and Porto-Romano), two well-known Albanian lagoons (Karavasta and Patoku lagoons) and four rivers (Semani, Shkumbini, Erzeni and Mati rivers) were analyzed for following organic pollutants, Lindane and its isomers (a-HCH, b-HCH, Lindane, d-HCH and e-HCH), DDT and its metabolites (DDE, DDD and DDT), polychlorinated biphenyls (7 PCB markers), polyaromatic hydrocarbons (13 PAH based on EPA 525) and BTEX(Benzene, Toluene, o-, mand p-Xylenes).The data has been collected for a two year period, March 2014 to April 2016. The results of the chemical analysis show that the samples of Semani River, Adriatic Sea and Shkumbini River have the highest concentrations of organochlorine pesticides (HCHs and DDTs). The cause of HCHs and DDTs presenceincludes their previous agricultural use, new incomes from erosion process and their degradation processes. Higher concentration values of volatile PCBs are related with their atmospheric deposition origin. Relatively high concentrations of Benzene, Toluene and volatile PAH compounds were detected in water samples of Port of Durres and Porto-Romano. The presence of hydrocarbonesis influenced by ships transport, discharges of wastesfrom the ships, local automobilist transport, etc. Also, higher concentration hydrocarbons were found in Semani River and Karavasta lagoon, because of extracting and processing of oil factories which operate in this area.","PeriodicalId":431351,"journal":{"name":"Madridge Journal of Analytical Sciences and Instrumentation","volume":"76 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-06-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134213496","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These minerals are processed appropriately prior to its use. Such products may also be used in combination with herbs. These products are often a blend of trace elements. The various procedures are mentioned in Ayurvedic text for the manufacture of the same preparation. In the present study nine preparations of Jasad Bhasma along with zinc oxide were analyzed for their trace element composition using Am241 radioisotope source induced X-ray Fluorescence. Jasad Bhasma preparations prepared using different processes showed significant levels of Zn (22% to 48% respectively. The other trace elements were also detected at significant level in these preparations. It is concluded that a uniform procedure need to be adopted to bring uniformity in the quality of Ayurvedic drugs.","PeriodicalId":431351,"journal":{"name":"Madridge Journal of Analytical Sciences and Instrumentation","volume":"60 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-06-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134502951","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is found that the best analytical characteristics of electrodes are based on 3,4,5-tris-dodecyloxybenzyl) tetraoxyethyltrimethyl ammonium in chloride form (5% w/w) with the addition in membranes of the solvating additive (neutral carrier) − p-heptyl ester 4-trifluoroacetylbenzoic acid (TFABAHE, 20% w/w). Their analytical characteristics: low detection limits (1·10−6mol/l); logarithm selectivity coefficients relative to interfering chloride -1,-4, sulfate -0.8, bromide -0.7, tungstate -0.9 ions; working range of pH (8.5−9.5); slope of the electrode function (24.4 mV/decade) are determined. Sodium molybdate aqueous solutions has been studied with FT-IR spectrometry method at various pH. In sodium molybdate solutions at pH greater than 8.0‒8.5 hydrolytic processes are mild. However, using a molybdate-selective electrodes is better to use freshly prepared solutions. This increases the reproducibility of the experimental results. The proposed electrode was employed to determine of molybdate ions of model water samples using the calibration plot method.","PeriodicalId":431351,"journal":{"name":"Madridge Journal of Analytical Sciences and Instrumentation","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-05-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126507028","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
