The\u0000 finite element model of S&R analysis of the interior assembly is built, and\u0000 the time-domain vibration characteristics of the contact points between the\u0000 interior panels are analyzed by applying external forced excitation. The\u0000 interaction force between contact points is obtained according to the contact\u0000 equivalent model between interior materials. The external excitation and\u0000 internal interaction force are analyzed as the total excitation to obtain the\u0000 response results. Through experimental verification, compared with the S&R\u0000 performance division method, the analysis results are consistent with the test\u0000 results. Based on this model, S&R risk optimization is carried out, and the\u0000 risk level is significantly reduced. The research shows that the level of\u0000 S&R performance can be accurately predicted by considering the nonlinear\u0000 contact problem of the contact point in the S&R analysis of interior\u0000 assembly, which has important guiding significance for the forward development\u0000 and optimization design of automobile S&R performance.

Zhang
With higher customer expectations and advances in vehicular technology,\u0000 automotive functions and operations are becoming more intelligent. Electric\u0000 self-priming door locks fulfil the automatic closing and locking of side doors,\u0000 hatchback doors, sliding doors, liftgates, decklids, etc. They are widely\u0000 implemented into high-end models for the elegance of soft closing. In the list\u0000 of perceived vehicle qualities, door-closing sound quality has been one of the\u0000 important customer concerns in the market. In comparison to conventional door\u0000 locks, electric self-priming door locks add another dimension to the development\u0000 of sound quality for noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) efforts. In this\u0000 article, the characteristics of door-closing sound involving self-priming door\u0000 lock mechanisms are analyzed and illustrated. Human perception of different\u0000 sounds from the self-priming door lock working process is ranked by subjective\u0000 evaluations. For typical door closing sounds associated with the self-priming\u0000 lock mechanisms, i.e., the motor sound and rebound sound, real-case examples are\u0000 discussed. A case of the buzzing noise issue due to the self-priming lock on a\u0000 hatchback door is also presented. In these cases, the correlation between the\u0000 sounds and the structure of the self-priming door locks is investigated and the\u0000 root causes of the encountered issues are identified. The door closing sound\u0000 quality associated with the self-priming door locks is improved in each case to\u0000 meet the program requirements. In the particular cases presented in this work,\u0000 the analysis involves psychoacoustic metrics for sound quality study originally.\u0000 It is found later that sound pressure level can address the encountered issues,\u0000 and thus only sound pressure level results are included.

Especially now,\u0000 as manufacturers move towards electrification, vehicle sounds are fundamentally\u0000 changing. By improving the quality of the interior sounds of a vehicle,\u0000 consumers’ subjective evaluation of it can be increased. Therefore, the field of\u0000 psychoacoustics, which is the study of human perception of sound, is broadly\u0000 applicable here. In fact, the perceived quality of a sound signal is influenced\u0000 by several psychoacoustic indicators, including loudness, sharpness, and\u0000 roughness. Of particular utility is identifying in advance how to distribute\u0000 audible frequency content in a way that optimizes psychoacoustic metrics as this\u0000 can help automotive engineers obtain specific design targets that optimize\u0000 vehicle noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH).\u0000\u0000 \u0000In this article, a novel modified gradient-based optimization technique (MGOT) is\u0000 developed to optimize psychoacoustic loudness and sharpness. The new technique\u0000 is applied to identify targeted adjustments to a measured vehicle interior sound\u0000 signal that keep the signal energy constant but reduce loudness and/or\u0000 sharpness. The MGOT numerically approximates the objective function gradient for\u0000 small changes in the signal power distribution for which constant overall signal\u0000 power is maintained. These gradient calculations identify power spectrum\u0000 one-third octave band trades that minimize a sound signal metric that is a\u0000 weighted sum of loudness and sharpness while conserving the total signal power.\u0000 A trade consists of a reduction of power content from a one-third octave band\u0000 designated as a source together with a simultaneous addition of that power to\u0000 another receiver one-third octave band. In the MGOT, a one-third octave band\u0000 that is at any time identified as a source can never later become a receiver of\u0000 power. The MGOT results and execution times are compared with two widely\u0000 available general-purpose optimization routines (a standard gradient-based\u0000 optimizer and a “genetic,” non-gradient optimizer) are used to achieve identical\u0000 optimization objectives. In comparison to existing optimization techniques, MGOT\u0000 is found to identify spectrum modifications that produce a superior minimization\u0000 of the objective function for comparable or even reduced execution times. The\u0000 resultant sound spectrum modifications can guide vehicle structural or\u0000 calibration design recommendations that realize a preferred frequency\u0000 distribution for enhancing the vehicle driving experience.
