The Logistic-Sine-Cosine chaotic map and elite Reverse learning strategy are fused to initialize the population. It is experimentally demonstrated that this hybrid strategy outperforms the population after random initialization in reducing ineffective sparrow individuals. In the vigilante update stage, the spiral foraging behaviour of the manta ray population in the integrated manta ray optimization algorithm, the sparrows search around the best food source, which enhances the sparrow search algorithm's ability to explore the optimal solution. To enhance the stability of the algorithm to search for the optimum, a mixed Gaussian variational and logistic perturbation strategy is proposed to further improve the performance of the algorithm. Finally, using 12 commonly used benchmark test functions and the Wilcoxon rank sum test, MSSA was compared with other original algorithms and advanced improved algorithms, it is demonstrated that MSSA has higher accuracy and convergence performance, and the improved MSSA algorithm is applied to three types of engineering optimization problems with constraints, demonstrating its feasibility and effectiveness.","PeriodicalId":428785,"journal":{"name":"Systems Science & Control Engineering","volume":"471 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115945086","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To mitigate these issues, an online model-free reinforcement learning controller specifically designed to handle high variations in joints’ friction forces. To the best of our knowledge this is the first time where reinforcement learning controller is used to handle high friction variations in a robotic arm. Initially, the dynamic equations of the robotic arm are derived, verified and validated to ensure an accurate representation of real-world behaviour. The stability of the closed-loop system is analyzed using the Lyapunov second method. The performance of the proposed controller in terms of position tracking is compared against four commonly used controllers found in literature for similar applications: (i) nonlinear model-based computed torque controller, (ii) proportional-derivative controller, (iii) adaptive iterative learning controller and (iv) radial basis function neural network adaptive controller. Simulation results demonstrate that the reinforcement learning controller outperforms the other controllers in terms of tracking performance, even in the presence of significant variations in joint friction forces.","PeriodicalId":428785,"journal":{"name":"Systems Science & Control Engineering","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121420702","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The sensor saturation is taken into account to describe practical engineering better. The DCS is introduced to conserve energy by alternating sensor nodes between active and dormant states. The considered problem aims to design a collaboration-prediction-based recursive filtering algorithm for nonlinear systems with sensor saturation such that, under the sparse measurements due to DCS, satisfactory filtering performance is guaranteed. By solving a set of matrix difference equations, the upper bound on the filtering error covariance is first obtained, and then the gain matrix of the filter that minimizes the upper limit is calculated. In addition, the boundedness of the upper bound of the filtering error covariance is analyzed. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed collaboration-prediction-based recursive filtering algorithm is verified by the simulation example.","PeriodicalId":428785,"journal":{"name":"Systems Science & Control Engineering","volume":"90 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132163560","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In response to the difficulties encountered, a small object detection method in UAV images is proposed as an improved YOLOv5-based algorithm in this paper. First, the space-to-depth(SPD) conv module is introduced into the basic feature extraction network, to improve significant loss of image information during downsampling. Then, various attention mechanisms are added, to intensify the acquisition of regions of interest in UAV images. Finally, the multiscale detection module is improved, to enhance the network's ability to detect small objects in UAV images. By conducting experiments on the VisDrone-DET2019 dataset, the test results of the established model show. The improved algorithm achieved a Mean Average Precision (mAP) of 41.8%, which is 7.8% better than the baseline network. In addition, the detection performance is better than most current mainstream target detection algorithms and is of some practical value.","PeriodicalId":428785,"journal":{"name":"Systems Science & Control Engineering","volume":"92 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114308537","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The bone age assessment method based on deep learning generally uses the whole left wrist X-ray film or some regions of interest in the left wrist X-ray film. Based on the entire X-ray film, the intelligent evaluation process is simple, but the accuracy is low. Although intelligent evaluation based on regions of interest has high accuracy, it requires prior knowledge and the process is complex. To solve the above problems, this paper proposes a multi-region combined method for bone age assessment. A small number of regions of interest in wrist bone X-ray films are extracted, and then the whole X-ray film and these regions of interest were used to evaluate the bone age. The experiment uses the improved Inception-ResNet-V2 convolutional neural network. The results show that compared with other bone age assessment studies on the open data set published by the North American radiological Association, this method can obtain higher accuracy of bone age assessment, with an average absolute error of 7.11 months. This method improves the efficiency and accuracy of bone age assessment while simplifying the assessment process.","PeriodicalId":428785,"journal":{"name":"Systems Science & Control Engineering","volume":"48 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128949185","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

According to the characteristics of circular array calibration plate, a camera calibration method based on circular array calibration plate is proposed in this paper. Firstly, subpixel edge detection algorithm is used for image preprocessing. Then, according to cross ratio invariance and geometric constraints, the projection point position of the center point is obtained. Finally, the calibration experiment was carried out. Experimental results show that under any illumination conditions, the average reprojection error of the center coordinates obtained by the improved calibration algorithm is less than 0.12 pixels, which is better than the traditional camera calibration algorithm.","PeriodicalId":428785,"journal":{"name":"Systems Science & Control Engineering","volume":"47 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130892357","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

First, the mathematical model of the SOP and thermostatically controlled loads are constructed based on the flexibility of the SOP and the thermal storage characteristic of thermostatically controlled loads, respectively. Then, the mathematical model of the ADN considering the SOP and thermostatically controlled loads are further constructed. The optimal control of the ADN is realized by adjusting the transmission power of the SOP and the switching state of the electric water heater. Finally, the optimal operation analysis of the SOP and thermostatically controlled loads under various control methods is carried out, and the impact of the SOP and thermostatically controlled loads on the economic and secure operation of the ADN is further investigated. The results show that the proposed method taps the demand response potential of thermostatically controlled loads while satisfying the water consumption habits of different customers, and utilizes the network reconfiguration with the SOP to further improve the security and economy of the ADN operation.","PeriodicalId":428785,"journal":{"name":"Systems Science & Control Engineering","volume":"176 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114445681","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Considering the terms of parameter uncertainty and time-lag, the hydraulic turbine fractional order interval parameter time-delay system is established by using fractional calculus and identification technology. Through the edge theorem and D-decomposition method, the calculation process of controller parameter stability region is derived in every detail. Subsequently, the four different controllers including the PID, PID plus second order derivative (PID2D), fractional order PID (FOPID) and fractional order PID plus second order derivative (FOPID2D) controllers, are applied in the hydraulic turbine fractional order interval parameter time-delay system. According to the experimental results, the effect of the controller parameters kd , kd 2, α and λ on the stability region of the parameters kp and ki is analysed and the variable law of stability regions of the hydraulic turbine governing system is presented. Finally, the stability region of these four controllers is compared and the results validate the superiority of the FOPID2D controller over the other controllers.","PeriodicalId":428785,"journal":{"name":"Systems Science & Control Engineering","volume":"48 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130140691","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
