It poses a significant burden worldwide, requiring urgent control measures and research for effective reduction especially in Indonesia.Objective: Investigating the effects of literacy, population density, and access to improved sanitation on TB incidence can provide insights into the relationship between these factors.Methods: This study was conducted in Jakarta, Indonesia from June to July 2023, using secondary data from 2005 to 2021. It employed a quantitative cross-sectional design to examine the relationship between variables. Data were collected from the ASEAN database and analyzed using descriptive and path analysis techniques to determine variable effects and significance. The study found that the incidence of tuberculosis in Indonesia initially decreased from 2005 to 2020 but significantly increased in 2021.Results: Population density, adult literacy rate, and access to improved sanitation all showed positive trends. Significant direct effects were observed among most variables, and indirect effects of population density on tuberculosis incidence were also identified through literacy and sanitation. The final model showed that higher population density correlated with increased access to sanitation and literacy rate, while access to improved sanitation was associated with reduced tuberculosis incidence. Overall, the model had a very good fit based on the indicators.Conclusion: Priority investments in sanitation infrastructure, especially in densely populated areas, along with improved access to sanitation facilities, combined with targeted health education campaigns and collaboration across defense, health, and education sectors, are recommended to enhance tuberculosis prevention and control","PeriodicalId":426927,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Kedokteran Diponegoro (Diponegoro Medical Journal)","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125582692","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Most Omicron mutations are located in the spike protein, which plays a pivotal role in virus infection. The mutated spike protein in the Omicron variant increases virus transmissibility and potentially threatens the effectiveness of COVID-19 vaccines and antibody therapies. Herbal plants, such as Indian Ayurveda, African herbal plants, and Traditional Chinese Medicines (TCM), have been studied as SARS-CoV-2 potential therapy in several countries.Objective: This review explores potential phytochemical herbals that target spike protein omicron based on the available molecular docking studies.Methods: We collected research articles on the molecular docking of phytochemicals that target spike protein omicron. Combination of several keywords: in silico OR molecular docking AND spike omicron, were used as input for Google search. Out of 83 articles from Google search, eight articles matched the inclusion criteria and were selected in this review.Result: Protodioscin from Carica papaya and Landomycin A from Aloe vera are the most potential phytochemical inhibitors against spike protein with the free binding energy of -10.77 kcal/mol and -10kcal/mol, respectively. Disruption of the immune system causes the risk of infectious diseases, such as pneumonia and lung abscess.Case Presentation:We report a female patient with a history of type 2 diabetes mellitus, complaining of dyspnea, cough with sputum, high fever, and headache. On chest examination showed left chest movement in the right lung, increased stem fremitus in all right lung fields, dullness in the right upper lung field, and amphoric sound, coarse and wet crackles heard in the right upper lung. In 2020 the worldwide burden of cervical cancer is significant, there are an estimated 604,000 new infections and 342,000 deaths in 2020. Based on Riskesdas data, the prevalence of tumor/cancer, especially cervical cancer, in Indonesia ranks second with 36,633 cases, accounting for 9.2% of all cancer cases. Effective interventions at various life stages could significantly reduce global mortality from cervical cancer. Objective: This study was conducted to examine the impact of cervical cancer counseling on cervical cancer prevention behavior in women of reproductive age. Methods: Conducting a literature review of previous journal articles related to the effects of cervical cancer counseling on cervical cancer prevention behavior in women of childbearing age. Results: The results of this study indicate that cervical cancer is a significant reproductive health issue in Indonesia due to low screening coverage and lack of knowledge, resulting in late diagnosis. However, education and counseling can play a vital role in increasing awareness and promoting preventive behavior towards cervical cancer. Conclusion: Education and counseling interventions can effectively increase awareness and promote preventive behavior, this promotive and preventive behavior greatly reduces the burden of cervical cancer. The kidneys are often the target organs in leptospirosis. The outer membrane of Leptospira Sp contains antigenic components and toxins that stimulate the inflammatory process in the kidneys. The neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) is used as a marker of the inflammatory process, while urea creatinine is a sign of kidney damage. Objective: To prove the correlation between NLR and serum urea and creatinine levels in leptospirosis patients. Methods: This study was carried out retrospectively on the medical records of patients with confirmed leptospirosis by Microscopic Agglutination Test (MAT) at Dr. Kariadi Semarang between January 2020 and July 2022. NLR examination was obtained by dividing the number of neutrophils by the number of lymphocytes in the leukocyte count, urea, and creatinine levels from the patient's medical record. Statistical analysis using the Spearman correlation test, with a significance level of p <0.05. Results: From 33 samples, the median NLR was 10.75 (2.19-47,5), the median urea level was 131.0 mg/dL (15–467 mg/dL) creatinine 2.0 mg/dL (0.7-11.9 mg/dL). The correlation between NLR with urea (p=0.001 and r=0.561) and creatinine (p=0.003 and r=0.501). Increased NLR, urea, and creatinine were found in leptospirosis patients.
