{"title":"The Structural Discords of the Homosexuality Controversy in Korean Society","authors":"Sung-Hoon Yuh","doi":"10.21130/tw.2019.9.96.183","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.21130/tw.2019.9.96.183","url":null,"abstract":"한국 사회에서 일어나고 있는 동성애 논쟁은 지나치게 배타적이며 공격적이다. 이 논문은 동성애 논쟁이 이렇게 공격적으로 이루어지게 되는 세 가지 원인에 주목한다. 하나는 동성애자들과 반동성애자들이 상반되게 가지고 있는 과거의 기억과 미래의 예측 사이의 충돌이다. 동성애자들은 자기들에게 행해졌던 과거의 가혹 행위를 공포와 분노로 기억한다. 반면에 반동성애자들은 동성애 허용이 차별금지법 같은 법적인 메커니즘으로 덧씌워지게 될 때 자기들이 겪을지 모르는 미래의 억압과 박해를 불안과 반감으로 예측한다. 한마디로 과거의 흑역사에 대한 기억과 미래의 흑역사에 대한 예측 간의 충돌이다. 다른 하나는 동성애 논쟁이 ‘사랑’이라는 보편적인 가치로써의 휴머니즘 운동이 아니라, 이데올로기 투쟁의 도구, 나아가 기존의 사회 체제를 전복하는데 필요한 세력 규합의 수단으로 인식되는 부분이다. 반동성애자들은 친동성애자들이 표면적으로는 동성애 문제를 인류의 보편적 가치인 사랑의 문제로 이야기하지만, 사실은 이 문제를 이데올로기투쟁의 도구로 삼고 있다는 의혹을 가지고 있다. 친동성애자 측과 반동성애자측이 서로에 대하여 가지고 있는 의혹과 불신의 문제다. 또 다른 하나의 원인은 동성애를 이야기할 때 언급되는 사랑에 대한 개념 이해가 존재론적인 것에 근거하고 있기 때문에 발생되는 논리상의 한계 문제이다. 다양한 현상으로 나타나는 사랑을 서로 분리되어 있는 여러 종류의 실재(reality)로 생각하지 않고 하나의 실재로 이해하기 때문에 생기는 문제이다. 이러한 존재론적인 사랑의 개념 이해는 흑역사의 문제나 이데올로기 문제보다 더 근원적인 것으로써 자기 측의 필요에 따라 사랑의 개념 적용을 임의로 조작하는 것을 가능하게 하는 개념 왜곡의 문제가 된다. 지금 열거한 이 충돌과 의혹과 논리의 문제들이 복합적으로 얽히면서 동성애 논쟁의 배타적 공격성과 파괴성은 더욱 악화되고 있다. 우리는 이 배타적인 공격성을 해소할 수 있는 단서를 찾아야 한다. 이에 따라 본론에서는 지금 언급한 세 가지 원인을 규명하고, 결론에서는 에필로그 성격의 글로 원론적인 수준이기는 하지만 이러한 난제를 해소할 수 있게 할 단서를 교육-영성적 측면에서 제안한다. 이 논의는 다양한 문헌들과 사회 정보망에서 발견되는 동성애에 대한 대화들을 해체, 재구성하는 방식으로 이루어질 것이며, 이 논의의 기여는 동성애 담론이 가지고 구조적인 파괴성의 원인을 규명하는 것과 이를 해소할 수 있는 전망을 교육학적인 측면에서 보게 하는 것이다.","PeriodicalId":423785,"journal":{"name":"Theology and the World","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131036304","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
