In this paper, we develop a new network coding transmission protocol, which can make all M pairs of source nodes accomplish information exchanging within two time slots. Particularly we focus on a scenario where all nodes are equipped with multiple antennas and the source nodes have less antennas than the relay. Outage probability and diversity-multiplexing tradeoff, which demonstrate that the proposed transmission protocol can achieve a larger multiplexing gain than the time sharing approach, are developed. Simulation results have been also provided to demonstrate the performance of the proposed network coding.","PeriodicalId":422191,"journal":{"name":"2010 5th International ICST Conference on Communications and Networking in China","volume":"84 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130437776","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The idea of ant colony optimization (ACO) has been used in design of routing algorithms for WSN. However, ant colony routing algorithms (ACRs) generally have a serious problem of slow routing discovery so far. In this paper, a feedback-enhanced ant colony routing algorithm (FACR) making use of timed-out forward ants and backward broadcasting ants is proposed to accelerate the routing process. This algorithm is simulated on NS2 and is compared to traditional ant colony routing algorithm (TACR). The results indicate that FACR achieves lower packet loss rate than TACR under the same experimental conditions. Moreover, FACR shows a shorter end to end delay and higher residual energy rate.","PeriodicalId":422191,"journal":{"name":"2010 5th International ICST Conference on Communications and Networking in China","volume":"40 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133576047","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper describes the spatial interpolation of meteorological observations (air temperature as an example) using a feed-forward back-propagation neural network based on the environment-affecting factors. These model independent estimators were (1) meteorological stations' longitude, latitude, altitude; (2) Normalized Difference Vegetation Index; (3) slope and aspect. This is a first to consider all the factors for are temperature spatial interpolation when interpolating using a neural network. Especially the study area covers large region of complex terrain, which includes only 241 national meteorological stations over almost half-total area of China. However, the simulated results show that the model could provide reliable spatial estimations of monthly mean air temperature. Goodness of fit of model was very high (R>0.95) and efficient.","PeriodicalId":422191,"journal":{"name":"2010 5th International ICST Conference on Communications and Networking in China","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133606472","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Reactive routing reduces control overhead as it finds routes on demand. On the other hand, it also prolongs data packet delivery delay compared to proactive routing protocols. To leverage this problem, route cache techniques are employed to balance control overhead and data packet delivery delay. In this paper, we propose a reactive location-based predictive caching scheme. The essence of this caching scheme lies in the neat integration of reactive location-based link availability prediction and time-based entry removal mechanism. The integration guarantees that the valid cached routes are never removed while stale routes are removed with the minimum cost of network resources. This caching scheme is embedded in the Reactive Zone-based Routing Protocol (RZRP) and evaluated by a simulation study. After accommodating social information from mobile end users, this mechanism can be well utilized in mobile social networks.","PeriodicalId":422191,"journal":{"name":"2010 5th International ICST Conference on Communications and Networking in China","volume":"88 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132656269","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper we consider the issue of filtering reflector based DoS attacks and of identifying attackers. For reflector based attacks, a Signature Conflict Triggered Filtering (SCTF) scheme based on Deterministic Edge Router Marking (DERM) was proposed. We suggest an enhancement to make the 3-way handshake in SCTF stateless and call it Fast-SCTF. We then propose a framework using BGP for a single-packet handshake. We demonstrate that our proposed scheme is space efficient, more secure, robust and it requires very little cooperation among autonomous systems.","PeriodicalId":422191,"journal":{"name":"2010 5th International ICST Conference on Communications and Networking in China","volume":"108 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115571358","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The precondition that PUs bear the coexistence of SUs is that the interference caused by SUs should be under a given threshold. Therefore the main challenge of CR is interference control or even interference cancellation. In this work we employ zero-forcing precoding at the base station of the secondary network to ensure no interference from SUs to PUs. On the other hand, to maximize the sum rate of the secondary network, optimal power allocation strategy is performed at the secondary base station. The uncoded bit error rate (BER) performance of the SUs and PUs with the optimal power allocation strategy are investigated and compared with that when employing average power assignment. Simulation results show that the proposed precoding scheme completely eliminates the interference from SUs to PUs and the optimal power allocation strategy enhances the sum rate of secondary network considerably.","PeriodicalId":422191,"journal":{"name":"2010 5th International ICST Conference on Communications and Networking in China","volume":"121 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116845597","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For downlink CoMP, most research work mainly focuses on joint processing/transmission (CoMP-JP) mode. However this mode needs the access points (AP) to share the UEs' data and channel state information (CSI) simultaneously, resulting in a high overhead on the network. Coordinated beamforming (CoMP-CBF), which can avoid the data information exchange is a better solution to reduce the overhead. In this paper, we propose a coordinated beamforming scheme in downlink CoMP transmission system. The proposed scheme exploits the signal leakage information to other cells to design the precoding vector to reduce the ICI. The simulation results indicate that the proposed scheme offers much higher performance gain compared with the CoMP-JP mode.","PeriodicalId":422191,"journal":{"name":"2010 5th International ICST Conference on Communications and Networking in China","volume":"288 8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124634937","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
