{"title":"The Influence of User’s Pains, Gains, and Jobs in the Context of e-Health vVlue Proposition Design for Visually impaired Young Adults in Romania","authors":"Doris Ignat","doi":"10.2478/saec-2023-0012","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.2478/saec-2023-0012","url":null,"abstract":"Abstract With the internet being the backbone of e-commerce, the number of e-Health solutions is becoming more prevalent around the world. However, they are not always developed in accordance with the needs of individuals with disabilities. In the past years, the challenge of inclusiveness gained significant attention, with differences among social groups and geographical regions being at the forefront of the debate. Thus, this study chose to focus on visually impaired young adults in Romania and their experience with e-Health solutions. Using the Value Proposition Canvas framework created by Osterwalder and Pigneur (2004), the study attempts to address the jobs, pains, and gains of this specific target group, with a focus on the social aspects. Qualitative research is carried out and 8 semi-structured interviews with visually impaired people are conducted. The overall results indicate dissatisfaction with the healthcare system and the medical services. Although the concept of e-Health is still developing in Romania, most participants appeared to have some experience with it, which overall was deemed unsatisfactory. The data gathered shows that this particular social group wants to carry out fundamental tasks like scheduling appointments, renewing prescriptions, and gaining access to reliable information. It was indicated that proximity to medical facilities, documents inaccessibility and interaction with medical staff are the biggest challenges. Participants experienced different treatment, either positive or negative, which affects their sense of self-sufficiency and level of independence. Solutions such as ePrescriptions, digital forms and personnel training are proposed for further research as they can address functional, social, and emotional problems of visually impaired people. Overall, this study contends that the design of a value proposition in the healthcare industry is directly influenced by the pains, gains, and jobs of the user. The collections of anthropomorphic figurines of the Badari and Naqada cultures offer the possibility of comparative anthropometric measurements, which highlight the evolution and diffusion process, as well as of new meanings for the archetypal corporeality that made figurines possible. Phonetic, morphological, syntactical and etymological aspects led to the establishment of a system of rules in the Romanian writing language that can be easily learned and applied. Last year appeared the third edition of the orthographic dictionary regulating current writing. The Orthographic, Orthoepic and Morphological Dictionary of the Romanian Language (DOOM) adapts the writing of Romanian to current requirements, even if some double variants and also linguistic uncertainties are still present. It reviews the literature dedicated to the concept of “collective” memory and its operationalization. The discusssion on the operationalization of this concept reveals the importance of the “infrastructure of memory” that political and cultural elites (“the critical community”) set up in order to keep the memory alive. A crucial moment was the May Fourth Revolution, a cultural and anti-imperialist movement initiated by Beijing university students who challenged the poor representation of China’s national interests at the 1919 Treaty of Versailles. This treaty ceded Shandong province, which had been under German control, to Japan. His novel entitled God Was Born in Exile, published in 1960, explores the meanings of human uprooting under tragic circumstances and discusses exile (of the character and also of the author) as a tragic characteristic of mankind. The descent of the Soul in the world, common to monotheist religions and to spiritual traditions from the East, is also the origin of the European philosophical tradition of idealism. This is briefly expressed as the Soul created the world by moving from Eternity to Time, meaning that one should not seek to explain time separated from the soul. The opinion or belief means the assignment of a truth value to a proposition, and the attitude represents the assignment of a practical value to a fact. Opinions and attitudes lead to the acceptation or rejection of propositions or facts, generating emotions. The emotions can be consonant, if the constitutive opinion and attitude have the same quality, and dissonant if their quality is different. A reasonable subject prefers the consonant emotions and rejects the dissonant ones.
