The aim of the research was to analyze the changing exercising frequency, the well-being, the mental health, and the social relationships before and during the curfew of the COVID-19 first wave. Material and methods. The data collection was May-June in 2020 via an online questionnaire survey amongst the sportsmen and professionals in the sports sector. The descriptive and inferential statistical methods were used with the SPSS 27.0 software (Chi-square test, Wilcoxon, Mann-Whitney U and Kruskal-Wallis tests). Results. The respondents were 44.17% female and 55.83% male. The average age was 36.36 +/- 16.52 years. The sample was classified into four sectors: elite sportsmen (20.60%), recreational sportsmen (34.29%), sports professionals (28.21%) and multiple roles (16.90%). There was a significant difference at the exercising frequency before and during the curfew between the sectors (p<0.001). The well-being, the mental health and the social relations did not show any significant differences. Regarding physical activity, there were decreases in every category:-268.36 minutes weekly average in the elite sportsmen,-194.90 minutes weekly average in the recreational sportsmen and-250.33 minutes weekly average in the multiple roles' category (p<0.001). Conclusions. The curfew of the COVID-19 pandemic had a major impact on the exercising frequency and physical activity amongst the sportsmen and professionals in the sports sector.","PeriodicalId":41946,"journal":{"name":"Health Problems of Civilization","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.4,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"71120747","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As of April and June 2021, a descriptive, cross-sectional and relationship-seeking design study was completed with 203 participants who were in the menopausal period and who were between the ages of 40 and 65 and were living in the provinces of Gaziantep, Diyarbakir, ,Sanliurfa, Batman, Adiyaman, Siirt, Mardin, Kilis,,Sirnak in the Southeastern Anatolia region of Turkey. The data were collected using the descriptive information form prepared by the researchers, the Fear of Covid-19 Scale, the Menopause Symptoms Evaluation Scale and the Healthy Lifestyle Behaviors Scale-II. Descriptive statistical analyses, Mann Whitney U test, Kruskall Wallis H test and Spearman Correlation Analysis were used to analyze the data.Results. The mean age of the participants was 55.7 +/- 5.6 years (min: 40, max: 69), the highest scores in the Healthy Lifestyle Behaviors Scale-II were found in the sub-dimensions of \"spiritual development\" (23.4 +/- 3.2) and \"interpersonal relations\" (23.1 +/- 3.3). In the Menopause Symptoms Evaluation Scale total and sub-dimension scores, it was determined that the \"somatic complaints\" (10.4 +/- 2.6) and \"psychological complaints\" sub -dimensions (10.7 +/- 3.1) had the highest scores.Conclusions. A statistically significant positive correlation was found between the participants' Fear of Covid-19 Scale scores and Menopause Symptoms Evaluation Scale total and sub-dimension scores. There was a statistically significant positive correlation between the Menopause Symptoms Evaluation Scale and the Healthy Lifestyle Behaviors Scale-II and certain sub-dimensions.","PeriodicalId":41946,"journal":{"name":"Health Problems of Civilization","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.4,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"71120218","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
