The survey aimed to obtain responses from all sectors, however most responses were received from academic libraries. The research examined their knowledge of national and international copyright issues as well as copyright policies at an institutional level. The survey also explored the need for copyright education for new and existing professionals and suggested topics for inclusion in training activities. The findings suggest that levels of knowledge amongst UK professionals are higher than those in other countries who participated in the first phase of the project. UK institutions are also more likely to have a copyright policy and an individual with responsibility for copyright. The results should be of interest to library managers, library educators and those with responsibility for staff training.

In addition, a regression analysis was conducted to study the influences of demographics, library characteristics and human capital variables on the approaches used. Data were collected from an online survey and descriptive and inferential statistics were used to analyze the collected data. The findings reveal that the frame-related issues in academic libraries and director managerial actions coincided with and confirmed the Bolman and Deal model. Results demonstrate that directors actually used multiple approaches as well as single and dual approaches to manage change. Demographic variables such as age and library characteristics such as library type and library size were significant predictors of the approaches used, but this study indicates that human capital variables and number of library branches made no difference. The results are helpful to better understand directors’ attitudes and behaviours, and the factors that influence approaches to change management.

This study aims to explore these experiences, providing a framework and context for their experiences and finding parallels in the existing literature on information literacy. \u0000Methodology \u0000This is a qualitative study consisting of five in-depth interviews with families. The findings were analysed using a grounded, interpretive approach. \u0000Results and conclusion \u0000The findings suggested that digital aspects of information literacy were significant for these families and that communities of practices were a useful way to understand their information literacy. The importance of reflection for information literacy was also demonstrated. There was some evidence that the information literacy of home educating families could be seen as challenging the orthodoxy of more formal educational models.

As in other disciplines, academics in agriculture are dependent on articles in electronic journals to obtain recent information and to build upon their own research. Empirical evidence is needed to select specific databases, to justify subscriptions, and to meet the research needs of academics. This article presents findings from an electronic journal availability study, which was used to determine the extent to which electronic journal collections met teaching and research needs at the University of Zimbabwe. The study took place between September 2013 and February 2014. A core journal titles list, simulating faculty’s research needs, was retrieved from a library’s electronic journals databases to establish the electronic journals availability rate: a measurement of the availability of the journals from the library’s electronic collections. This study showed an 85.5% availability rate across local collections, with the following results for the donated journal schemes: 63% in Access to Global Research in Africa (AGORA); 47% in Access to Research for Development (ARDI); 51% in Health Internet Access to Research Initiative (HINARI), and 53.5% in Online Access to Research in the Environment (OARE). This electronic journal availability study demonstrates that librarians need continuously to evaluate their collections and to assess whether these meet the needs of their users.
