Additionally, stress adversely affects human decision making abilities, therefore prompt, preferably real-time detection of fear is very important. Based on previous studies for non-portable multi-electrode electroencephalography (EEG) systems the ratio of the power of the slow waves to that of the fast waves increases when a person is relaxed and decreases when s/he is scared. In this study we test small portable EEG and develop algorithms for real time detection of the stressful condition - fear. During the experiment we compare EEG signals of subjects in relaxed state with those in stressed state while they are watching a scene from a scary movie. The ratio of the slow/fast wave powers was measured and the observed pattern was similar to one obtained using a multi-electrode system. We integrate stream-processing algorithms in the system to ensure real-time detection of any changes in mental condition and timely generate the alarm event.","PeriodicalId":418492,"journal":{"name":"2013 IEEE 14th International Conference on Information Reuse & Integration (IRI)","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-10-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115121744","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Each tenant essentially operates in an individual silo without interacting with other tenants. As cloud computing evolves we anticipate there will be increased need for tenants to collaborate across tenant boundaries. This will require cross-tenant trust models supported and enforced by the cloud service provider. Considering the on-demand self-service feature intrinsic to cloud computing, we propose a formal cross-tenant trust model (CTTM) and its role-based extension (RB-CTTM) integrating various types of trust relations into cross-tenant access control models which can be enforced by the multi-tenant authorization as a service (MTAaaS) platform in the cloud.","PeriodicalId":418492,"journal":{"name":"2013 IEEE 14th International Conference on Information Reuse & Integration (IRI)","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-10-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128884676","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Efficient spatial indexing techniques are one of the most effective optimization methods to improve the quality of services. Although a variety of spatial index structures like R-tree family and grid variant index structures have been proposed and deployed in real time location based service provisioning systems, they are known to perform poorly when there is high degree of the skewedness in both density distribution and spatial resolution of mobile objects. First, it is hard to decide the optimal resolution of the grid structure. Second, it is equally hard to build a balanced R-Tree like index structure that is effective in handling highly skewed distribution of mobile objects. With these issues in mind, we introduce the concept of spatial order sequences and propose a fast and compact index structure for moving objects by utilizing spatial order sequences through a number of density-conscious optimizations. First, we propose the concept of Ordered-Cell Group (OCG) and design a OCG based grid index structure. Second, we speed up the search efficiency of OCGs by effective compaction of identifiers of OCG cells to maximize the fan-out of index node and decrease the depth of the index. Finally, we develop an efficient query processing algorithm that can effectively utilize OCG cells to speed up the processing of spatial queries. Our experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of our approach compared to existing index techniques.","PeriodicalId":418492,"journal":{"name":"2013 IEEE 14th International Conference on Information Reuse & Integration (IRI)","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-10-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121903334","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This may cause the DSS components to show an unexpected behavior known as emergent behavior in the run time, which was not seen in their requirements and design. Emergent behaviors can have irreparable damages for companies. The savings in cost of detecting and fixing emergent behaviors in early phases is more than 20 times compared to fixing them after the deployment. The detecting methodologies usually utilize behavioral modeling which can face to state space explosion problem for large scale systems. Therefore, we approach this problem by detecting components that will not show emergent behavior and remove them from further analysis to help the scalability of these approaches. Previously, we have devised and implemented the algorithm for synchronous communications. In this paper, the extension of our method for detecting these components in the asynchronous communication style is presented which is closer to the real-world systems. The details of the technique and related algorithms are discussed.","PeriodicalId":418492,"journal":{"name":"2013 IEEE 14th International Conference on Information Reuse & Integration (IRI)","volume":"2008 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-10-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116939836","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Nevertheless the lack of component libraries is one of the major obstacles to widely use CBSE in the industry. To help filling this need, many approaches have been proposed to identify components from existing object-oriented software. These approaches identify components from singular software. Therefore the reusability of these components may be limited. In this paper, we propose an approach to mine reusable components from a set of similar object-oriented software, which were developed in the same domain, ideally by the same developers. Our goal is to enhance the reusability of mined components compared to those mined from single software. In order to validate our approach, we have applied it onto two open source Java applications of different sizes; small and large-scale ones. The results show that the components mined from the analysis of similar software are more reusable than those which are mined from single ones.","PeriodicalId":418492,"journal":{"name":"2013 IEEE 14th International Conference on Information Reuse & Integration (IRI)","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-10-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128300582","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Mobile smart phones provide an opportunity to easily manage cloud virtualization, creating new forms of interactions. iXMM enhances both the portability and the usability of XCP management over the existing management tools. New forms of interactions, such as touch interfaces, are expected to emerge. For example, system administrators can control XCP remotely using smart phones with minimum Internet connection (i.e. 2G mobile internet connection). The implementation installs iXMM client as a native mobile application (currently iOS application) and allows access to iXMM through mobile web browsers. The evaluation shows that iXMM is very efficient in terms of the required computational resources including processing, memory, and Internet connection bandwidth; this makes it suitable for mobile computing environments. Even though full functionalities have not been implemented, iXMM provides an opportunity to complete similar tasks using smart phones, a trend which is expected to benefit aged population with minimal mobility.","PeriodicalId":418492,"journal":{"name":"2013 IEEE 14th International Conference on Information Reuse & Integration (IRI)","volume":"103 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-10-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131640361","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The challenges involved in finding a suitable service include large time consumption, and difficulty of finding a perfect match according to the user specified search keywords. For instance, users may have privacy and security concerns, as the information involved with service selection and provisioning may be sensitive for both providers and users. In this paper, we define an approach to provide customized recommendation of composite services according to a variety of user-specified criteria, including classic quality of service as well as complex privacy and security dimensions. We conduct an extensive experimental evaluation, using datasets of actual WSDL documents and comparing our algorithms with state-of-the-art solutions. Our experimental evaluation demonstrates that our algorithms are both effective and efficient.","PeriodicalId":418492,"journal":{"name":"2013 IEEE 14th International Conference on Information Reuse & Integration (IRI)","volume":"49 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-10-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129278423","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To this end, the paper presents a Personalized Web Service Architecture (PWSA)to support the automation of personalized workflow advertising and discovery. The basic tenet of the architecture is the concept of active service workflows, whereby semantic-aware agents, referred to as flowlets, enable the execution of web service process, based on a user-defined rules and personalized interests and the Web services specification. Two schemes are used to support personalized workflows. In the first scheme, the flowlet uses a centralized approach for workflow execution. The second scheme, uses a decentralized “routing slip” approach to orchestrate web services. The centralized scheme provides a more robust and secure mechanism to perform web service workflow. In particular, the scheme can efficiently detect and deal with failure and malicious behavior occurring in each step of the workflow. The decentralized scheme uses communication bandwidth more efficiently to achieve service orchestration.","PeriodicalId":418492,"journal":{"name":"2013 IEEE 14th International Conference on Information Reuse & Integration (IRI)","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-10-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117069275","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

By increasing sensor node lifetimes the need for intervention and maintenance can be greatly reduced and nearly eliminated. Although energy storage and even energy harvesting are active areas of research, less attention has been focused on the best design practices for reducing the energy requirements of the sensor node itself [15]. With proper design, many existing low power components and technologies can be leveraged to greatly increase efficiency. This paper provides an overview of a wireless sensor node built using advanced low power components and efficient software operation. Further, it explores general design approaches which can be applied to maximize energy efficiency in wireless sensor node designs, and provides testing results which show very low power operation and extended run times on common batteries.","PeriodicalId":418492,"journal":{"name":"2013 IEEE 14th International Conference on Information Reuse & Integration (IRI)","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-10-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126996319","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
