The shock occurred in the zone of a large Ulakhan fault, which is visible in satellite images and can be seen in the topography between the Indigirka and Kolyma Rivers at a distance of 1,500 km. Statistics of seismic observations in the last century and at the beginning of this century show that in the zone of influence of the Ulakhan fault within the crust (~ 35 km thick) at a depth of 7-30 km, more than 14 thousand local events were noted. The epicentral intensity of more than ten of them reached 6–8 on the Russian scale (MSK-64). In addition to high seismicity, additional geodynamic indicators of the reactivation of the Ulakhan fault in modern time were identified, in particular, high heat flux, icing processes, paleo-and modern seismic dislocations, etc.The macro effects of this event on an area of 300 thousand square kilometers were studied in three Arctic regions of Yakutia and in the south of the Magadan region and its epicenter is located by the proximity to the well-preserved paleoseismodislocation Uryun – Takh – Takh, which arose more than a thousand years ago and is clearly visible in the search sistem of Google. As a result, a structural-dynamic model of the Ulakhan fault zone is proposed, explaining the occurrence of the Ulakhan – Chistay earthquake on the basis of the kinematic scheme of the Omulevsky block, which is undergoing extrusion by a collision between the Eurasian and North American lithospheric plates in Northeast Asia.","PeriodicalId":41676,"journal":{"name":"Vestnik of Saint Petersburg University Earth Sciences","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.3,"publicationDate":"2020-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"80789867","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Heterogeneity is represented by zone with low and high hydraulic conductivity in two types of configuration: planned boundary and strip-layer. We studied five models for each type of heterogeneity with two variants of hydraulic conductivity. We carried out three-dimensional modelling with the use of Modflow (for hydraulic heads and electrical potentials) and ElSources (for current source term). We obtained SP distributions Self-Potential produced by pumping test which indicate heterogeneity. We calculated the values of the anomalous field for a detailed study of the heterogeneties. We found a correlation between SP and drawdown for the case of heterogeneity with low hydraulic conductivity. We defined the both boundaries of the strip clearly for zone with low hydraulic conductivity. The outer boundary of the strip-layer was not fixed due to the high hydraulic conductivity of the heterogeneity and low hydraulic gradient at the boundary. We estimated dependence of horizontal thickness of heterogeneity on SP distribution. The results can serve as a base for defining the heterogeneties in the aquifer.","PeriodicalId":41676,"journal":{"name":"Vestnik of Saint Petersburg University Earth Sciences","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.3,"publicationDate":"2020-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90729632","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The aim of this work was to find out the peculiarities of territorial differentiation of publication activity of Russian universities’ staff. We analyzed more than 25 thousand scientific publications indexed by scientometric databases RSCI and Scopus. The authors of these publications were full-time employees of 46 Russian universities. It was determined that significant differences in the publication activity between universities are connected with the presence of traditional scientific schools and are weakly dependent on both the number of the department employees and the status and material base of the university. The hypothesis that the correlation between the \"specialization\" of scientists in physical or human geography depends on the level of development and natural features of the region was not confirmed. Of all the areas of human geography, the least developed and popular was political geography. A fairly low publication activity of human geographers working at universities was noted. On average, each staff member of the studied universities wrote only 7 articles on human geography for the period from 2010 to 2019 (less than 1 paper per year).","PeriodicalId":41676,"journal":{"name":"Vestnik of Saint Petersburg University Earth Sciences","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.3,"publicationDate":"2020-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"80750296","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
