Linguistics courses aim to increase students’ knowledge and understanding of human communication and to understand the nature of language in general, bringing students to a point where they can apply this knowledge in particular fields such as criminal justice, education, forensics, languages, law, psychology, sociology, speech therapy, or translation. Linguistics students will be prepared to become language professionals, pursue graduate studies in linguistics or TESOL, or to practice the skills of a linguist in a variety of professional fields, including speech therapy/ pathology.","PeriodicalId":415775,"journal":{"name":"Key Topics of Study","volume":"39 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131447483","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These may focus on macroeconomics, applied microeconomics, quantitative economics, or economic history. Whatever courses students take, they will become familiar with the way economists think about problems and devise solutions to them. Although the program does not offer specialized professional training in economics, it provides excellent preparation for graduate work in economics, the study of law, and careers in business or government. Students should consult a department adviser about field courses that fit their needs.","PeriodicalId":415775,"journal":{"name":"Key Topics of Study","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131780446","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study focused on three stations located in two regions with different climates: semi-arid (Aflou) and arid (Laghouat). Ants were collected between March 2013 and February 2014, using pitfall trap sampling over a four-season period and quadrat counting techniques. A total of 20 ant species have been identified, which belong to 8 genera in three subfamilies: Dolichoderinae, Myrmicinae and Formicinae. Moreover, it was noticed that the study areas, which can be characterized by their floristic nature, physiognomic and even edaphic aspects, directly influence the ant community ecology and distribution. We classified them in both eurytopic and stenotopic species. It was also observed, using a Correspondence Factorial Analysis (CFA), that the ants’ activity is seasonal and often correlated with temperature fluctuation and trophic availability.","PeriodicalId":415775,"journal":{"name":"Key Topics of Study","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115111650","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Its scope spans the humanities, the social sciences, and the biological, physical, and evolutionary sciences. As a history of the human species, anthropology studies all human biological and behavioral variation from the earliest fossil records to the present; it includes the study of nonhuman primates as well. As a social science, anthropology aims at uncovering the patterns of past and present societies. As one of the humanities, anthropology seeks to understand the ways cultural meaning and political power have shaped human experience.","PeriodicalId":415775,"journal":{"name":"Key Topics of Study","volume":"132 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121584381","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
