We fabricated two microfluidic polymer devices that enable to study active transport of kinesins and tau protein detection, respectively. The former device eliminated diffusional transport of target molecules in a single micrometer-scale channel to evaluate only the motor’s active transport, which was dynamically formed by a pneumatic poly(dimethylsiloxane) (PDMS) membrane valve. The latter device enables to detect a microtubule associated protein (MAP), tau protein, for differentiating its isoforms and mutants. These devices will be further integrated with motor protein assays to explore their applicability in bio-inspired nanosystems.","PeriodicalId":415083,"journal":{"name":"International Conference on Bio-inspired Information and Communications Technologies","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-05-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125660714","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This stands in contrast to whole image frame-wise acquisition using standard cameras. Recently, we proposed a novel biologically inspired efficient motion detector for such event-based input streams and demonstrated how a canonical neural circuit can improve such representations using normalization and feedback. In this contribution, we suggest how such a motion detection scheme is defined by utilizing a canonical neural circuit corresponding to the resolution of cortical columns. In addition, we develop a mapping of key computational elements of this circuit model onto neuromorphic hardware. In particular, we focus on the recently developed TrueNorth chip architecture by IBM to realize a real-time, energy-efficient and adjustable neuromorphic optical flow detector. We demonstrate the function of the computations of the canonical model and its approximate neuromorphic realization.","PeriodicalId":415083,"journal":{"name":"International Conference on Bio-inspired Information and Communications Technologies","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-05-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115790483","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

So, these software development approaches represent advanced paradigms for modular software product lines development. Thereby, a FOP and AOP symbiosis would permit reaching pros and cons of both approaches. \u0000 \u0000FOP allows developers to modularly refine classes collaboration for Software Product Lines (SPLs), an adequate approach to represent heterogeneous crosscutting concerns. Similarly, traditional AOP structurally modularizes in a re- fined manner homogeneous crosscutting concerns. Since traditional AOP presents implicit dependencies and strong coupling between classes and aspects, these AOP issues are solved by the Join Point Interface JPI approach. This article presents JPI Feature Modules for FOP + JPI SPL components modularization, i.e., classes, aspects, and join point interfaces along with their evolution, for a SPL transparent implementation in a FOP + JPI context. In addition, this article shows JPI Feature Modules of a case study to highlight mutual benefits of FOP and JPI approaches for a modular SPL software conception.","PeriodicalId":415083,"journal":{"name":"International Conference on Bio-inspired Information and Communications Technologies","volume":"43 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-05-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133293872","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
