DSTATCOM is controlled to compensate reactive power, harmonic current, neutral current and unbalances in the load. The control algorithm extracts reference currents and generates gate pulses for IGBT switches by PWM technique. An adaptive hysteresis band current controller is proposed to control the hysteresis bandwidth according to the modulation frequency, supply voltage, DC capacitor voltage and slope of the reference compensator current wave. The performance of three phase four wire system with DSTATCOM is validated for harmonic elimination and balancing of loads by using simulation models in MATLAB /SIMULINK.","PeriodicalId":414407,"journal":{"name":"The 5th Annual International Power Electronics, Drive Systems and Technologies Conference (PEDSTC 2014)","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-04-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121318290","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is based on current-fed switching network and multi-resonant circuits, using in flexible distributed generations. The proposed topology has only four active switches with common ground gate driving for each input port. Moreover, the current drawn from each input port is low current ripple owing to its topology. Phase shift controlling handles power exchanging through each port and overlapping phase is used to adjust output voltage around its rated voltage. MATLAB/SIMULINK2012a environment is used to simulate the different modes of operation of this proposed converter.","PeriodicalId":414407,"journal":{"name":"The 5th Annual International Power Electronics, Drive Systems and Technologies Conference (PEDSTC 2014)","volume":"67 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-04-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125186837","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A Γ - Z source inverter that has been introduced recently has a very interesting feature: unlike the Trans Z-source inverter its voltage gain is increased by lowering its transformer turn ratio. The voltage gain in a Γ - Z source is very sensitive to transformer turn ratio, particularly when it approaches to its lower limit of one. Therefore it should be wound carefully and should be a safety margin to avoid triggering of unanticipated events. In this paper, it is shown that the voltage gain is increased significantly with combined the Γ - Z source inverter with the switched inductor voltage multiplier cell. The proposed inverter is analyzed and the voltage gain is obtained and is compared with a Γ - Z inverter. It is shown that the voltage gain for the proposed inverter is higher than Γ - Z inverter in any transformer turn ratio. The performance of the proposed inverter is verified with simulation results.","PeriodicalId":414407,"journal":{"name":"The 5th Annual International Power Electronics, Drive Systems and Technologies Conference (PEDSTC 2014)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-04-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115341987","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Conventionally, the droop control is adopted as a decentralized control method for power sharing in DC MGs. However, current sharing accuracy or voltage regulation deteriorates due to the effects of line impedances. In this paper, a new adaptive control strategy is proposed for DC MGs. In low load conditions, the output currents of the DGs are far from their maximum acceptable limits. Therefore, current sharing accuracy is not important. As load increases, the output currents of the DGs approach their maximum acceptable limits. Therefore, at high load conditions, accurate current sharing is necessary. In the proposed method, with increasing the load, the equivalent droop gains are automatically increased to attain more accurate current sharing. Simulation results are provided to verify the validity and effectiveness of the proposed method.","PeriodicalId":414407,"journal":{"name":"The 5th Annual International Power Electronics, Drive Systems and Technologies Conference (PEDSTC 2014)","volume":"36 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-04-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127474575","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the proposed model, Park's equations are used as fundamental state-space system in which stator quantities are referred to rotor reference frame and winding fluxes are considered as state variables. Magnetic saturation is also taken into account in both d- and q-axes. First, a conventional model is presented and afterwards, the new approach is described and developed. Using trial and error procedure, an appropriate neural network is employed and trained for modeling saturation using back-propagation algorithm. Several steady state and transient simulations such as short circuit and sudden changes in input quantities are done. Quantitative and qualitative results obtained from simulations show the accuracy and usefulness of the new model as well as valuable information on the topic.","PeriodicalId":414407,"journal":{"name":"The 5th Annual International Power Electronics, Drive Systems and Technologies Conference (PEDSTC 2014)","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-04-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122304692","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
