One of the contributing factors is unsustainable forest management and low public awareness in maintaining an ecosystem. Upstream damage occurs due to illegal logging and deforestation for agricultural purposes or exploitation of forest products. Meanwhile, the conversion of forest land into commercial or residential use occurs in the middle to downstream areas. The research used a descriptive analysis method based on Situation, Structure, Behavior, Performance (SSBP), and Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method with data processing using the Expert Choice software. Research shows that the government's percentage of performance related to policies that have been implemented in the Lepan watershed is considered reasonable by the community, with a value reaching 62%. Alternatives in providing of Lepan watershed being healthy is returning of function by value weight 5.6, conservation by value weight 3.4, and planting by value weight 2.1","PeriodicalId":412108,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Sylva Indonesiana","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-02-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133823886","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The objectives of this research were to analyze the radiosensitivity of T. grandis Salomon clones by gamma ray irradiation and to analyze the genetic variations using Random Amplified Polymorphic Deoxyribonucleic Acid (RAPD). For those purposes, teak planlets were irradiated using gamma rays at 5 different dosages, those were 0 Gy, 10 Gy, 20 Gy, 30 Gy, and 40 Gy. Lethal doses50 (LD50) and reduced doses50 (RD50) were obtained using Curve-fit Analysis. Furthermore, the irradiated planlets were subcultured on medium MS + 0.1 kinetin (M1V0) the surviving M1V0 plantlets were multiplied to MS + 0.1 kinetin, so it is obtained the M1V1 generation. Genetic variation of the mutant was molecularly analyzed using RAPD methods and the variability was calculated using Analysis of Molecular Variance (AMOVA). Results of this research showed that lethal doses50 (LD50) and reduced doses50 (RD50) values were obtained at 24.5 Gy and 7.85 Gy, respectively. It includes genomes of small size and a small number of genomes. The genetic variation of mutant individuals in among and within the treatment of gamma irradiation was 16% and 84% according to AMOVA. It means that the dominant effect of genetic material caused genetic variation in mutant M1V1 generations. This dominance of genetic material could be caused by the response combination of tissue culture treatment and genetic factors that had the potency to be used as materials to select desired clones in the next stage.","PeriodicalId":412108,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Sylva Indonesiana","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-02-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117156926","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The description of the performance of FMU development is required by policy makers as part of the policy evaluation. In the evaluation of the policy, an assessment of the substance, implementation, and impact of the policy can be carried out. Policy evaluation is functional, with the intention of providing input for process improvement and continuous improvement of performance measures. However, there are still problems in the field that must be addressed immediately so that forest resource management can run well, such as the unfinished process of boundary demarcation reconstruction, regional stability, investment mechanisms and so on. The purpose of this research is to assess the performance of the successful level of forest management implementation at the site level. The method used in the assessment is the analysis of the components of the criteria and indicators developed by Forest Watch Indonesia (FWI) Version 2.0, document verification, and in-depth interviews. The results of the assessment show that the FMU Region I Stabat has a fairly good performance in carrying out forest management in accordance with its function as a forest resource manager at the site level. Several criteria need to be strengthened so that these criteria can run well. These criteria include regional stability and investment mechanisms.","PeriodicalId":412108,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Sylva Indonesiana","volume":"101 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-02-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116335304","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Sudan is a hot spot for deforestation, despite the increasing awareness of deforestation and its consequences. Consequences are related to increased emissions of greenhouse gases, water pollution, and loss of biodiversity. However, precise information on its forests' current state is very limited. Therefore, to intervene support of existing resources effectively, it is important to have a better understanding of the process to take place in the country and impact those resources. The objective of this study is assess and map Land use Land cover (LULC) change and analyze the anthropogenic factors causing it in Um Hataba forest, South Kordofan State. The study utilized two-free cloud images (TM 2000 and Sentinel-2 in 2018), field surveys, and questionnaires to analyze the decrease in forest cover. The results indicated there were a decrease in vegetation cover on wadis (clay soil) from 20.98% in 2000 to 15.85% in 2018 and vegetation on sandy soil decreased from 30.29% in 2000 to 30.13% in 2018. While mixed shrubs and grassland increased from 28.60% in 2000 to 33.20% in 2018 of the total area under study and the rainfed agricultural area increased from 20.13% in 2000 to 20.82% in 2018. The main factors of degradation and fragmentation as the expansion of mechanized are rain-fed agriculture, felling of trees and woodcutting, worse grazing activities, and construction of infrastructure. Information garnered from this study can provide a good basis for forest rehabilitation programs and can also be used for developing proper management plans that consider the needs of the communities utilizing the forest.","PeriodicalId":412108,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Sylva Indonesiana","volume":"91 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-02-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126308015","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of them is the use of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) as a vehicle for capturing aerial photo data. This study aims to map the mangrove ecosystem in order to find out spatial information with UAV technology and to identify mangrove species, distribution, and associations. The ground survey was conducted on 02 until 04 May 2019 in North of Lancang Island, Seribu Islands, DKI Jakarta Province. The mangrove data collection was carried out in four stations with marking, tracking the mangrove area and drone flights for taking aerial photo data. Based on the research, it was found that the mangroves were in good condition with an area of around 4 hectares, consisting of Rhizophora mucronata. However, there is a lot of waste around the mangrove ecosystem, especially inorganic waste in the form of plastic. Where the presence of garbage can cover the roots of the mangrove so that it can affect respiration and cause death in mangroves. The application of UAV technology that is integrated with GIS in mangrove ecosystem mapping is expected to be an alternative in extracting mangrove databases for future coastal ecosystem management.","PeriodicalId":412108,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Sylva Indonesiana","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-08-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114177080","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

At this stage, it takes a week or more to compile the media, so the media is ready to be inoculated by the fungus. This long composting time, economically slow down production in the cultivation of oyster mushrooms. Thus, using an activator to speed up the composting process is often done. During this time, the most widely used activators to shorten composting time is Effective Microorganism (EM4). In this study, another type of activator with the same function as EM4 was tried, namely Promoting Microbes (PROMI). The purpose of this study to determine the effect (dose) compromise on the making of oyster mushroom growing media to mycelium growth time, pinhead growth time; harvest time; the number of the fruiting body, and the weight of fresh mushrooms.  The raw material used candlenut wood sawdust (Aleurites moluccana Willd) in the making of media. The method used in this study is the making of growing media, composting, sterilization, inoculation of the fungus, and maintenance. Growing media consisted of sawn wood sawdust, PROMI, bran, CaSO4, CaCO3, and water. The treatment used is the addition of compromise to the growing media before composting. The doses of PROMI given are as follows: 0 g (P1); 0.25 g (P2); 0.5 g (P3), and 0.75 g (P4), each of which dissolved in 200 ml of water. This study's results indicate that different PROMI when mixing raw materials influences the time of mycelium closure in growing media and the time of harvesting mushroom fruit bodies. For the time of mycelial closing, giving as much as 0.5 g, PROMI has different control effects.  The provision of PROMI as much as 0.5 g and 0.75 g also influences the control in terms of harvest time.","PeriodicalId":412108,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Sylva Indonesiana","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-08-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131573771","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Knowing soil fertility in the landscape will provide information on land management. The nature of the soil differs from one point to another, therefore it is necessary to map the properties of the soil. The purpose of this study is to map the distribution of the properties of forest land in areas that have been degraded. The land is a former privately-owned oil palm plantation in the Gunung Leuser National Park (TNGL) forest. The study uses a continuous grid interpolation method, thus forming polygons of soil properties. The soil types are Inseptisol an Ultisol. The results of the study show that most of them belong to the type of soil that is finely textured so that erosion can easily occur if surface runoff occurs in areas that have been exposed. The soil water content range that has the widest area is the range 26.98 - 29.50% with an area of 14.38 ha (42.91% of the research area). The range of land capacity has the widest area, namely the range 42.24 - 49.32% with an area of 13.32 ha (39.76% of the research area). Low organic matter content and acidic soil pH. Based on the results of these studies, the land in the research area is less fertile. However, restoration efforts are very possible because many tree species are adaptive with low soil fertility.","PeriodicalId":412108,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Sylva Indonesiana","volume":"49 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-08-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124792936","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
