The objective of the study was to see the impact of Organic (FYM) and Inorganic fertilizers (UREA, SSP and MOP) on the the growth yield of tomato of a ‘Tomato P.K.M-1’ and ‘Tomato F 1 Ferline’ at the Nursery area of a College of Forestry, Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology and Sciences Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh. The experiment was laid out in Randomized Block Design with three replications. Different level of organic and inorganic fertilizers combination was taken F 1 (control), F 2 (100% NPK), F 3 (100%FYM), F 4 (75% NPK + 25% FYM), F 5 (50%NPK + 50% FYM), and F 6 (25%NPK+ 75%FYM) were used for Tomato plants. The highest plant height, the maximum number of branches, number of flowers and fruits/plant as well as the greatest fruit size, fruit yield/plant and fruit yield/ha were obtained best in F 2 (100%NPK) application of the recommended dose of nutrients. The results revealed that significantly the highest plant height higher yield and yield attributing characters were recorded with the application of 100% NPK.","PeriodicalId":411017,"journal":{"name":"INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF FORESTRY AND CROP IMPROVEMENT","volume":"41 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114702170","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A number of production techniques can be used to improve the properties of MDF; particularly the tensile strength perpendicular to grain (internal bond). One of the new techniques is needle punch. Where-in the wooden frame with needles is used to punch the fibre mattress before making a board. Effect of needle punch technique on physical and mechanical properties of MDF board was evaluated. Boards were prepared from bamboo with 6%, 8% and 10% phenol formaldehyde resin using needle punch technique (two time punch) after the mat formation at three different pressure i.e., 14 kg/cm 2 , 17.5 kg/cm 2 and 21 kg/cm 2 , respectively, for 15 minute hot pressing. The physical and mechanical properties of MDF board were evaluated as per IS specification 12406:2003. An increase trend in the internal bond strength of MDF board with the increase in needle punching during mat formation as well as resin content and pressure was observed. The results indicate that suitable MDF boards can be prepared using needle punch technique (two time punch) with 10% resin content at 21kg/cm 2 specific pressure which meets most of the other physical and mechanical properties as per IS: 12406:2003. Some of the physical properties of board like water absorption and general swelling were higher than the Indian Standard requirements which can be controlled by suitable treatment.","PeriodicalId":411017,"journal":{"name":"INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF FORESTRY AND CROP IMPROVEMENT","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116756134","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

On the basis of morphological characteristics the fungus, the fungus was identified as Phoma eupyrena which produces symptoms on the leaves as numerous small, pale, irregular spots which are light brown with dark black margins and blightening appearance at the apex region initially. Phoma eupyrena form pycnidia, whose range varied between 240-250 μm in diameter and conidia are hyaline, short, cylindrical, mostly straight and unicellular. Conidial size ranged between 3-6 × 1.5-3 μm.","PeriodicalId":411017,"journal":{"name":"INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF FORESTRY AND CROP IMPROVEMENT","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-06-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123865959","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
