The study aimed at evaluating the correlation between BLV infection and breast cancer in Iran. \u0000 \u0000 \u0000 \u0000 \u0000Methods: In the cross-sectional study, a total of 85 breast cancer tissue samples and adjacent tumor samples (normal tissue) were collected during the year 2022 from women referred to general hospitals in Qom Province, Iran. The nested PCR technique was performed to determine the presence of tax and gag genes of BLV in the collected samples. To confirm the presence of the tax gene of BLV, PCR products of some BLV-positive samples were subjected to direct sequencing. \u0000 \u0000 \u0000 \u0000 \u0000Results: Based on nested PCR technique, tax and gag genes of BLV were detected in 12.9% (11.85) and 3.4% (3.85) of breast cancer tissue samples, respectively. Also, the tax gene was present in 4.7% of the control samples, but the presence of the gag gene was not observed. Most malignant samples of BLV were III grade. The study aimed to determine the hospitalized elderly's satisfaction and related factors with the physical structure of hospitals affiliated to Kashan University of Medical Sciences, 2022. \u0000Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted on 650 elderly admitted to hospitals in Kashan from 2022 to 2023. Sampling was the Convenience method. The developed researchers' valid and reliable questionnaires were used to collect data. Data were analyzed with Pearson's correlation coefficient, independent t-test, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), and linear regression tests in SPSS version 16. \u0000Results: The mean age of the elderly was 71.7 ± 6.2 years. The mean score of elderly satisfaction was 24.6 ± 3.8 points on a scale of 0 to 45. The increasing age of the elderly had a statistically significant with the elderly satisfaction with the structure of hospitals (r = -0.12, P = 0.003). Multiple regression showed that the hospital specialization (P > 0.001) or being general (P > 0.001), marital status (P = 0.001), having movement problems (P = 0.001), education level (P > 0.001) and type of insurance (P = 0.005) as predictor variables explains 36% of the variance of elderly people's satisfaction with the physical structure of hospitals. \u0000Conclusion: The inappropriateness of the physical structure of hospitals causes dissatisfaction among the older adults. Hospital specialization, literacy level, marital status, movement problems, and insurance support are related to the hospitalized elderly’s satisfaction. It is necessary reforms the structure of hospitals to increase the satisfaction of older adults and prevent possible risks.

This study investigated toxic effect of Lippia citriodora leaf extract on two prostate cancer cell lines and its effect on docetaxel cytotoxicity. \u0000Methods: Cytotoxicity of Lippia citriodora leaf extract was evaluated individually or in combination with docetaxel. Cells were cultured in 96-well plates. After treating cells with different concentrations of extracts and drugs, their survival was measured by MTT assay. \u0000Results: Lippia citriodora leaf extract showed a highly toxic effect on prostate cancer cells. The extract at the highest concentration, decreased the percentage of viable cells to 18.01 ± 1.37 in PC-3 cells and to 20.80 ± 1.06 in LNCaP cells. The IC50 value of the extract was 78.14 mg/ml for PC-3 cells and 88.76 mg/ml for LNCaP cells. In addition, the extract increased the cytotoxicity of docetaxel. In the maximum increasing effect, the percentage of survival in PC-3 and LNCaP cells decreased from 50.87 ± 2.46 to 26.48 ± 1.12 and from 54.13 ± 1.83 to 28.84 ± 1.69, respectively. \u0000Conclusion: Lippia citriodora leaf extract had a remarkable toxic effect on prostate cancer cells in vitro and increased docetaxel cytotoxicity.
