On the Genetic Behavior of Some Factors in Aduki-Bcan. Among crosses, colored stem x green one, a mating gave a mixed F2 generation consisting of 9 co!oreds and 7 greens in every 1 G. The reason why we have not mual 3: 1 ratio, but 9: 7, may be readily explained by the interaction of two complementary factors. This assumpュ tio1 was confirmed by the results obtained in F3 and F4. The parents of this cross also differed in the color pattern of seed • coat, the one being self black and the other red eyed white. The F2 generation raised from the self black seeded hybrids consisted of four different types, self black, self red, red eyed white with black mottling 0:1 the colored part anc.l red eyc.1 white, in a 9 : 3: 3: 1 ratio. The subsequent brcedi1;_!; test proved that the segregation is resulted by the recombination:of two factors which arc responsible for the p:uticular color patt心rn on the seed-co:1t. There arc found the complete corrdatio:1 b;:;twecn the stem coior and the seed pattern. Thus al colored stems gave only self black seeds, while al green stems gave either one of the remaining three. This interesting fact may be explained by assuming the occurrence of two stronば linkages between the 恥tors for stem color and seed p北tern.
