Gerec ve yontemler: Calismamiza 10 sistemik olarak saglikli kronik periodontitisli (KP) ve 10 tip-2 diabetes mellitusu olan kronik periodontitisli (DMKP) birey dahil edildi. Tum bireylere 4 seansta kok yuzey temizligi ve kok yuzey duzlestirmesini iceren cerrahi olmayan periodontal tedavi (COPT) uygulandi. Plak indeks (PI), gingival indeks, sondalama derinligi, sondalamada kanama ve klinik atasman seviyesi degerleri baslangicta ve tedavi sonrasi 3. ayda olculdu. Tukuruk ornekleri toplanarak IL-1β seviyeleri analiz edildi. HbA1c testleri baslangicta ve tedavi sonrasi 3. ayda olculdu. Bulgular: Tedavi sonrasi 3. ayda tum klinik parametreler, HbA1c ve tukurukte IL-1 β seviyesi her iki grupta da anlamli olarak azaldi ( p 0.05). Tedavi sonrasi 3. ayda DMKP grubunda PI ve HbA1c seviyesi sistemik olarak saglikli KP bireylere gore daha yuksek bulundu ( p <0.05). Gerec ve Yontemler : Otuz adet lityum disilikat seramik disk (1 mm kalinlik ve 3 mm capinda) uretildi ve labial yuzeylerinde mine ve dentin seviyesinde dis preparasyonu yapilan 30 adet cekilmis curuksuz alt kesici dise simante edildi. Uygulama yontemine gore 6 test grubu tasarlanmistir (n=5); 1. grup mine yuzeyinde ve lazer uygulanmamis, 2. grup dentin yuzeyinde ve lazer uygulanmamis, 3. grup mine yuzeyinde ve Er: YAG lazer (600mJ, 2 Hz) uygulanan, 4. grup dentin yuzeyinde ve Er: YAG lazer (600mJ, 2 Hz) uygulanan, 5. Grup mine yuzeyinde ve Er: YAG lazer (165mJ, 30 Hz) uygulanan, 6. grup dentin yuzeyinde ve Er: YAG lazer (165mJ, 30 Hz) uygulanan. Er: YAG lazer her ornege 3 saniye boyunca uygulandi. Lazer uygulama isleminden sonra, tum gruplar kopma olusana kadar makaslama baglanma dayanimi testine tabi tutuldu. Numunelerin kopma paternleri incelendi. Elde edilen veriler istatistiksel olarak tek yonlu ANOVA ve post-hoc T-test kullanilarak 0.05 anlamlilik duzeyinde analiz edildi. Bulgular: Tek yonlu ANOVA testi sonuclarina gore gruplar arasinda istatistiksel olarak anlamli fark elde edilmistir (p<0.05). Post hoc T-testine gore sadece 2. ve 5. gruplar arasinda istatistiksel olarak anlamli fark olmadigini gorulmustur. Grup 1'deki orneklerin ortalama makaslama baglanma dayanimi degerleri, diger tum gruplardan istatistiksel olarak daha yuksek bulunmustur (p<0.001). Sonuc: Er: YAG lazer seramik venerlerin cikarilmasinda basarili ve etkili bir uygulamadir. Recently, it is easier to get rid of those unwilling spaces aesthetically with the help of newly developed restorative materials. Major diastema may frequently occur due to high frenulum junctions thus causing unaesthetic outlook for some patients. In this case report a maxillary major diastema due to high frenulum was closed non-invasively with direct, prepless composite resin restorations. In this case frenectomy, office bleaching and direct prepless restorations was respectively planned. Six weeks were waited for periodontal tissue healing after frenectomy operation and then bleaching procedure was done using 40% hydrogen peroxide gel ( Opalescence Xtra Boost, Ultradent, USA ). Following vital bleaching; after 2 weeks, universal adhesive agent (Universal bond, Kuraray Noritake, Japan) was applied to the etched enamel surfaces (36% phosphoric acid etching with DeTrey Conditioner 36, Dentsply, Germany). Direct composite resin restorations was done using “A1B” and “NE” shades ( Estelite Asteria, Tokuyama Dental, Japan ). Polishing discs (SofLex, 3M ESPE, USA), interdental strips (Epitex, GC, Japan) and two spiral polishing twists (Twist Dia, Kuraray, Japan) was used during the finishing and polishing stages. As a result, the ideas to improve effective training methods for future dentists who will have impact on oral and dental health of the society will be developed. Methods: A survey including sociodemographic, oral and dental health-associated questions was conducted with 200 students who were studying at Faculty of Dentistry of Inonu University and subsequently, dental examination of each student was performed and evaluated. Results: It has been noted that students generally give importance to oral and dental health and nutrition as their grade level increases. It is observed that since the beginning of their education, the rate of restorative treatment increased, and the number of tooth cavity is decreased. Conclusions: Considering that dentistry students are individuals who will educate and influence the society, they need to pay more attention to their personal health and care. MAderivatives have a long established role in biomedical devices and are utilized in restorative dental composites, contact lens materials, and bone cement. Zebrafish is one of the most commonly used fish species in toxicity potential testing. Aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of a MA derivative, polyethylmethacrylate (PEMA) exposure on the development of zebrafish embryo. Materials and Method: Adult AB strain zebrafish were kept in an aquarium rack system (Zebtec, Tecniplast, Italy) at 27 ± 1 °C under a light/dark cycle of 14/10 h. Normally dividing and spherical embryos were selected and utilized for all of the described studies. After range-finding experiments zebrafish embryos were exposed to MA in well plates containing 20 embryos, having four replicates. Developmental effects and mortality rate were evaluated for 120h. Nitric oxide (NO) levels of the embryos were evaluated using Griess Method. Results: In present study no significant difference was observed in the NO levels of the embryos in the control group and in the MA exposed group. However, some developmental defects were observed in some of the MA exposed embryos. Lack of pigmentation was evident in one DMSO exposed embryo and pericardial edema was observed in some of the MA exposed embryos. Toplamda 9 adet in vitro calisma ve 15 adet vaka iceren 7 adet vaka sunumu calismasi degerlendirilmistir. Sonuc: Tam seramik restorasyonlarin Er: YAG lazer ile cikarilmasi umut verici bir protokoludur. Gunumuzde cok sayida guclendirilmis tam seramik sistemi gelistirilmistir. Guclendirilmis tam seramik sistemleri arasinda zirkonyum esasli seramik restorasyonlar, yuksek dayaniklilik ve estetik ozelliklerinden dolayi tercih edilirler. Klinikte zirkonyum oksitin kor materyali olarak kullanimi tatminkar optik ozellikler, 1000 MPa’i gecen yuksek bukulme direnci, biyolojik uyumlulugu ve translusent olmasi gibi avantajlari sayesinde tercih edilmektedir. Bunlardan en yaygin olarak kullanilani yttrium ile stabilize edilmis zirkonyum oksit polikristalleridir. Kullanilan materyallerin ve uygulama tekniklerinin basarilarini ve ozelliklerini belirleyebilmek, restorasyonlarin klinik prognozunu belirlemek, restorasyonlari oral cevrede degerlendirebilmek amaciyla kontrollu klinik calismalara ihtiyac vardir. Bu nedenle bir takim klinik basari degerlendirme kriterleri olusturularak standardizasyona baglanmistir.
