Consumers are learning to improvise and to learn new tastes. Consumers cannot go to the supermarket, so the store comes home. Although consumers are moving back to old tastes, it is possible that new rules and practices in the way consumers shop and buy goods and services will be changed by the government. As all elements of the economy are intricately interlinked with public health initiatives and lock-ups, this has resulted in the nation's economic turmoil hinting at a shift in market dynamics. Consumers are drivers of market competition, development, and economic integration in any market. With economic turmoil, customers are also undergoing behavioral change, but the question is how much transformation they have undergone since the crisis will endure. This article explores consumer buying behavior during the Global Pandemic Crisis and during the ensuing lockdown period when the world remained standing for more than a quarter of a year. The proposition offers further testable hypotheses for future research to understand consumer sentiments or the need to buy ‘what is enough' within the marketing context and how to strengthen the post-pandemic crisis to ensure the sustainability of business models. It would also be interesting to explore the correlations of this forced consumer buying behavior with other variables such as crisis learning, changing needs, personality, nationality, culture, new market segment, and age in developing new models of consumer buying behavior.","PeriodicalId":407182,"journal":{"name":"Nigerian Chapter of Arabian Journal of Business and Management Review","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129598852","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The bureaucracy whether in developed or developing countries is viewed as the mechanism of actualizing public goals, programmes and objectives and as such cannot be under estimated. The peculiarity of the Nigerian state and its bureaucracy in terms of representation of all segments of the union, with a focus through the eyes of the instrumentation of the “value added” narrative is viewed as the main point of this paper. The paper utilizes secondary data and a comprehensive desk analysis was carried out. It was discovered amongst others that, the Nigerian bureaucracy lacks effective representation and that human resource procurement process has been hijacked by corrupt politicians. As a way of policy recommendation, the paper opines amongst others that the Federal Character Commission (FCC) be overhauled in terms of reforms in order to place it in a proper framework to effectively carry out its duty without fear of interference.","PeriodicalId":407182,"journal":{"name":"Nigerian Chapter of Arabian Journal of Business and Management Review","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124953029","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The transition from viewing work-life balance practices solely as a means of accommodating individual employees with care giving responsibilities to recognizing their contribution to organizational performance and employee engagement is an important paradigm shift that is still very much in process. Not many women manage to find a compromise and devote enough time to family and the ones who have managed to find this balance can be considered happy. It is therefore imperative for women to organize time wisely by finding a good job which will suit their skills, interests and home fronts. This study examined the work life and maternal homeostasis in Nigeria Banking Sector using some selected commercial banks in Ilorin metropolis, Nigeria as a case study. The population of the study consisted of all female employees of all the commercial banks in Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria. Convenience random sampling technique was adopted to select 80 respondents from eight major banks in Ilorin metropolis. A total of 80 copies of questionnaire were designed and administered to the female staff of the selected banks in equal proportion. The Chi-square statistical tool of analysis was employed to test the hypothesis in order to achieve the objective set for the study. Findings from the study revealed that work life balance has significant effect on family life of female employees in the banking sector. The study concluded among others, that management of banks should maintain a healthy balance between work and family demands by recognizing the areas that negatively affect female employees’ wellbeing and how they can be addressed by seeking access to the family friendly initiatives that would improve their work and family satisfaction and overall wellbeing. The study recommended that the management of these banks should maintain policies that promote work life balance for female employees to enhance effective delivery of service while maintaining a peaceful and conducive home front.","PeriodicalId":407182,"journal":{"name":"Nigerian Chapter of Arabian Journal of Business and Management Review","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115842341","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Temperature rise and variability in rainfall patterns has had serious consequences on crop and livestock production in Nigeria leading to a decline in food production and accessibility. Smart Agriculture (SA) is the way to turn around the situation to more resilience and higher agricultural productivity leading to improved food accessibility and security status. This paper utilized cross-sectional survey research design and primary data to examine the effect of smart Agri-Preneurship dimensions on food accessibility in South-West, Nigeria. The study adopted Cochran, Hatzes, Butler and Marcy formula (1997) to ascertain the sample size. A reliable and valid questionnaire was adminstred to 632 agri-preneurs. The regressed constructs revealed positive and significant effect of smart agr-preneurship on food affordability (Adj. R 2 =0.642, F (6551) =167.442 and p=0.000). The study concluded that smart Agri-Preneurship dimensions affected food accessibility in South-West, Nigeria. The research recommends smart agripreneurship adaption to address food insecurity and most especially food accessibility, preferably within the south-south part of Nigeria, where oil pollution has affected farmland and accessibility.","PeriodicalId":407182,"journal":{"name":"Nigerian Chapter of Arabian Journal of Business and Management Review","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129878322","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
