During the modeling stage, we adopt a hybrid time domain model wherein keplerian orbital parameters are modeled in continuous time domain, while attitude parameters are, modeled as polynomials in discreet time domain. The output of the model is subsequently used to realize an ortho-rectified image by single stage resampling. The image rectification procedure adopted is based on back projection by indirect method but is redesigned to eliminate several unnecessary computations that are made on a pixel by pixel basis and is illustrated with a Spot data set. The study illustrates the excellent and very promising potential of adopting Singular Value Decomposition SVD in the bundled adjustment process. The study brings out that this two stage approach results in a significant reduction in computational time while retaining the product location accuracy. Geometric rectification is made by a single stage resampling, which significantly enhances the radiometric fidelity of the processed data when compared with conventional techniques used in operational environments.","PeriodicalId":405479,"journal":{"name":"2012 UKSim 14th International Conference on Computer Modelling and Simulation","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-03-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122665676","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This mobile robotics system has been designated as the (KSU-IMR), as it a test-bed for research within the area of mobile robotics system navigation through the use of an active stereo vision for planning a path within an unstructured environment at King Saud University in KSA. The system is making use of fast image processing tools, as in addition to fast algorithms for processing the dynamic images. The approach followed here is to employ the Epipolar Geometry to compute the 3-D details of the environment where the mobile is moving. The algorithm mixes stereo vision, occupancy grid mapping, and potential field path planning procedures to form a robust and consistent robotic system for mapping and navigation.","PeriodicalId":405479,"journal":{"name":"2012 UKSim 14th International Conference on Computer Modelling and Simulation","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-03-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124233923","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It offers high efficiency and flexibility, and is a good candidate to address the ossification of the Internet. It is also a key enabler for resilient and low latency cloud services. Network virtualization is also expected to give rise to new business roles. Therefore, these business roles, their responsibilities and their interactions should be deeply analysed. Understanding the effects of design decisions and parameter settings in a virtual network ecosystem can be achieved by modelling and simulation. In this paper, we introduce a new simulation environment, in which a network virtualization ecosystem with its all players and the infrastructures they possess can be modelled, and the performance of new designs for efficient and resilient virtual networks and cloud connections can be assessed.","PeriodicalId":405479,"journal":{"name":"2012 UKSim 14th International Conference on Computer Modelling and Simulation","volume":"1631 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-03-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115832025","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Specifically, we have chosen Lake_20 Mesh, Lake_35 Mesh and Tri_20258 Mesh for our research work. All these meshes consist of small triangles. The objectives of aesthetic graph layout, such as minimization of edge intersections and near equalization of edge lengths, follow the goals of mesh untangling and generating good quality elements, respectively. Even though performance of the function has been improved with Global Positioning System (GPS) and high information and communication technologies, it was reported that users sometimes feel anxiety because of low accuracy of the position estimation especially in urban area and delay of information updating. The purpose of our work is to propose pedestrian navigation method to reduce anxiety of users. We propose evaluation functions to estimate various landmarks' effectiveness based on the \"recognizability\", and \"visibility\", and a route planning algorism for safe and easy way finding. The estimation model was constructed through several cognitive experiments about recognizability and visibility for different types of landmarks.","PeriodicalId":405479,"journal":{"name":"2012 UKSim 14th International Conference on Computer Modelling and Simulation","volume":"10 3","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-03-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114025178","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However two of these systems, the Pulse Coded Modulation and Linear Delta Modulation, still have some weaknesses limiting their advantages, these limitations negatively affect the communication process causing quantization error, slope overload distortion and granular noise. On the other hand, communication engineers have developed two additional digital communication systems which are the Adaptive Delta Modulation (ADM) and the Differential Pulse Coded Modulation (DPCM) in order to solve the aforementioned problems. This paper discusses the implementation and simulation of the aforementioned digital communication systems using Simulink (The Math Works, Inc., Natick, MA, USA) showing the effect of different types of noise when applied to the channel, thus, proving the importance of DPCM and ADM systems in eliminating such effects and ensuring a successful transfer of data.","PeriodicalId":405479,"journal":{"name":"2012 UKSim 14th International Conference on Computer Modelling and Simulation","volume":"73 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-03-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114328305","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Among various modulation techniques for a multi-level inverter, the space vector pulse width modulation (SVPWM) is widely used. The complexity is due to the difficulty in determining the location of the reference vector, the calculation of on times, and the determination and selection of switching states.This paper proposes a general SVPWM algorithm for Multi-level inverters based on standard two-level SVPWM . To control multilevel converters, the pulse width modulation (PWM) strategies are the most effective, especially the space vector pulse width modulation (SVPWM) one, which has equally divided zero voltage vectors describing a lower total harmonic distortion (THD). In this work, a three and four-level inverter using space vector modulation strategy has been modeled and simulated with a passive R-L load. Simulation results are presented for various operation conditions to verify the system model.","PeriodicalId":405479,"journal":{"name":"2012 UKSim 14th International Conference on Computer Modelling and Simulation","volume":"2019 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-03-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122046276","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As CNFET devices are widely considered much faster than their CMOS counterparts, the CNFET comparator should show much improved performance than the CMOS one. Therefore the key performances of the comparator like rising and falling delay, gain, average power dissipation and other transient responses of the proposed CNFET comparator are analyzed from simulation results and are compared with the simulation results of the CMOS comparator in the same condition.
