The development of Ceric-cerous technique is traced from 1980 to the present day with reference to its use as processing control dosimeter. To the same purpose the residual TL of the 280°C peak of natural quartz is suggested for the first time to extend its gamma-ray response up to 100 kGy. The factors affecting on measurement accuracy for both systems are improved to satisfy the requirements for quality control of irradiated products. Entsprechend den unterschiedlichen Aufgabengebieten wurden 3 Verarbeitungs-programme (FORTRAN) fur den Rechner EC 1040 entwickelt. Das Programm LINFOR, eingesetzt zur Analyse der Strahlenwirkung auf Membranvesikel, trennt ein NMR-Spektrum in 2 Linien bei gleichzeitiger Bestimmung der Linien-formparameter. Fur die Reinheitsanalytik deuterierter Verbindungen ermoglicht das Programm AKKU eine Spektren-akkumulation (max. 255 Akkumulationen). Das Programm ISOTAN ermoglicht, bei deuterierten Losungsmittlen den Deuterierungsgrad verschiedener chemischer Gruppen zu ermitteln. Insbesondere wurde die Effektivitat verschiedener Detektortypen und der Empfangsradius in Luft gegenuber der Strahlung dieser Radionuklide ermittelt. Es zeigte sich, daβ trotz Einsatz des effektivsten, betaempfindlichen Zahlrohrtyps zur Erzielung vergleichbarer Impulsdichten ein hoherer Aktivitatseinsatz bei 133Xe im Vergleich zu 85Kr erforderlich ist. Der Einsatz von Szintillationsmeβsonden erhoht die Effektivitat, allerdings auf Kosten der raumlichen Auflosung. Es werden eine groβere Zahl von Punktstrahdern, die in hochschmelzenden Kapseln untergebracht sind, und ein weiterer Strahler, der sich in einer Bleikapsel befindet, zugesetzt. Die Lagekontrolle der Punktstrahler bei der Bewegung des Strangs erfolgt mit zwei Meβgeraten. Die genaue Tiefe der flussigen Phase wird an Hand des tiefsten Strahlers im Strang unter Hinzurechnung derjenigen Stranglange, die durch das markierte Blei gekennzeichnet ist, bestimmt. The radiotracer method has better accuracy connected with the shorter sampling period. With neutron radiography quantitative measurements of the depth of surface corrosion of aluminium objects can be effectively performed. Experimentally it has been confirmed that through I cm thick Al slab approximately 0.1–0.2 mm thick layer of corrosion products can easily be detected. Neutron radiography can thus be a valuable nondestructive method for the detection and quantitative evaluation of corrosion on aluminium structures. Aluminium honeycomb structures can thus be simultaneously inspected for corrosion nests, moisture and defects in adhesive layer.
