In what follows, from some examples of the European Neolithic (7000-3500 B.C.) and the Pre-classic period of Ancient Mexico (2500-1500 B.C.), this symbolism of duality is emphasized as expression of the continuing human quest for completeness. The rumor will evoke the hermaphroditism of this knight, devoid of attraction to either sex. We try to show that there is not absolute masculine or feminine in these two cultural universes, insofar as the feminine always implies a masculine principle and the masculine a feminine principle. And this dialectical principle that covers each of the two categories aims to relativize the power of this category in relation to the other. Moreover, in these two cultures, the attributes of the feminine are often more valuable than those of the masculine.\"","PeriodicalId":40223,"journal":{"name":"Caietele Echinox","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44791739","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
