The purpose of this study was to analyze food availability and the level of community food security in Pahawang Island, Indonesia. The data were analyzed descriptively and based on the House hold food security access scale (HFSAS) on 9 variables. The results showed that the food provided from the agroforestry area consisted of vegetables, fruits, tubers and empon-empon while the food that could not be provided from the agroforestry area was rice, fish, tempeh, tofu, chicken, meat and others. etc. are obtained from the sale of agroforestry products. The revenue from this agroforestry product reaches Rp. 641,085, 000 per year or equivalent to 64,108.5 kilograms of rice per year. This means that for 14 days the community can survive if Pahawang Island experiences a disaster that causes people to be unable to leave the island. Based on the calculation results, the average food security score of Pahawang Island is included in the category of moderately food security with a score of 15.6. Agroforestry management in Pahawang Island needs to be maintained because it has proven to be able to improve community food security. The addition of commercial plant species also needs to be done, especially from the types of fruits and woody plants.","PeriodicalId":39816,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Design and Nature and Ecodynamics","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"87389846","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This research is the third-year measurement of the activities of monitoring the health of mangrove forests in East Lampung Regency. The purpose of this study was to determine the value and trend category of the health condition of the mangrove forest in East Lampung Regency. The stages of this research, namely: measuring the health trend of mangrove forests in the six FHM clusters that have been built and analysing the data using the Forest Health Assessment Information System software. The results of this study indicate that the trend value of the health condition of mangrove forests in each location is Kuala Penet (8.64-20.90) with a good category because CL-1 and CL-2 are constant, Margasari (2.52-5.57) in the bad category because CL-3 and CL-4 decreased, and Purworejo (5.58-8.63) in the moderate category because CL-5 and CL-6 increased. Thus, the average trend value of the health condition of the mangrove forest in East Lampung Regency (7.70) is in the moderate category. This can provide information to the community on preparedness in dealing with natural disasters.","PeriodicalId":39816,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Design and Nature and Ecodynamics","volume":"10 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"79594309","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A high-frequency argon jet plasma method has been proposed for decomposing hydrogen content. The excitation temperature of plasma can be directly observed from atomic emission lines. This information is more efficient to characterize the plasma behavior to optimize the decomposition process. In this study, the plasma excitation temperature was determined using spectroscopy and Boltzmann’s plot with a higher argon gas flow rate. An argon gas flow rate varied from 300, 400, 500, 1000, 1500, 2000, 2500, and 3000 mL/min. It flows inside a hollow tube in the counter electrode. A 27.12MHz high-frequency power source of plasma was applied to produce jet plasma at atmospheric pressure. The excitation temperature was observed in the range of 4310K to 5133K. The highest excitation temperature of 5133K was obtained at an argon gas flow rate of 500 mL/min.","PeriodicalId":39816,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Design and Nature and Ecodynamics","volume":"50 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81643055","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The research explores the growth condition and regularities of common pine plus-trees, the best individuals with high-quality genetically determined traits for creating seed and vegetative seed plantations and further conducting breeding work are identified. There are findings on the genetic variability of trees on forest-seed plantations by ISSR markers on the example of common pine, identifying the existing gene pool of this species. Studies of forest reproduction by plantation type conducted throughout one republic or the planet as a whole provide preconditions for its improvement and higher efficiency of silvicultural works. Scientific and environmental institutions and authorities should join their efforts to develop effective measures to compensate for reforestation forest management.","PeriodicalId":39816,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Design and Nature and Ecodynamics","volume":"2 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"89960860","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, the purpose of the current paper is to get efficiency best by using biodiesel fuel and comparative with normal fuel. The variables under consideration include biodiesel ratio, engine load, and injection pressure. The experiments were performed with different engine speeds (1500, 2000, and 2500 rpm) and with different torques (4, 5, 5, 7, and 8 N.m). The biodiesel ratio (at 10%, 20%, and 30%) affects engine performance, power, specific fuel consumption, and mean effective pressure. The comparison is performed in the previous variables according to the gas ratio of the output exhaust (NOX, CO2, CO, HC, and smoke). The experimental work shows the center composite design approach of the response surface methodology. To get the best performance from the engine, the optimal values for the engine factors are 50% per volume, an engine speed of 2500 rpm, and an engine torque of 5.9744 Nm. The optimal engine performance responses depending on these optimal factors have been Power (KW) 2.36665, BMEB (bar) 3.6465, BSFC (g/kWh) 338.131. The exhaust released was 1.7808 (g/kWh). 273.985 (g/kWh) BSCO2, 0.0436773 (g/kWh) BSCO BSHC, NOX (2.48637 g/kWh), and 3.43418 g/kWh smoke.","PeriodicalId":39816,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Design and Nature and Ecodynamics","volume":"29 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81888968","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, the Nipa habitat develops into an area of water mass circulation and becomes rich in nutrients that trigger the growth of phytoplankton as the primary producer in the aquatic ecosystem. This study aimed to examine the species composition and distribution of phytoplankton and nutrient content in the nipa ecosystem on the west coast of Aceh, Indonesia. It was conducted from July 2018 to September 2019 and sampling was carried out in two areas, namely Kuala Bubon Aceh Barat district and Kuala Tadu, Nagan Raya district. A total of 100L of surface water samples was taken from three points at each location. Subsequently, the water was filtered with a plankton net mesh No. 25 and preserved with a 4% Lugol solution. The water sample from both locations was also analyzed for nitrogen and phosphorus contents. The results showed that there were 20 species of phytoplankton in both sampling locations, with Kuala Bubon consisting of 13 species with density of 160.87 cells L-1, and 15 species in Kuala Tadu with density of 273.64 cells L-1. Haramonas sp. was the dominant species in Kuala Bubon, while Amphisolenia bidentata was dominant in Kuala Tadu. Based on the nutrient content (nitrate+nitrite and phosphate), the average nutrient content in Kuala Bubon was 1.31 mg L-1 (mesotrophic) and 0.12 mg L-1 phosphate (hypertrophic). Meanwhile, Kuala Tadu had 1.078 mg L-1 nitrate+nitrite (mesotrophic) and phosphate, 0.22 mg L-1 (hypertrophic) waters. These findings are an early indication that the estuary of Kuala Bubon and Kuala Tadu have been contaminated by organic matter.","PeriodicalId":39816,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Design and Nature and Ecodynamics","volume":"172 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"79468301","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Researchers were studying the water recycling technique and finding about other possible renewable water resources for irrigation, they conclude that saline water can be used to meet part of the irrigation water needs for many crops under special field management, because there are many crops have a high tolerance to the salinity without decreasing in the yield. The current study aims to evaluate the economic yield of saline drainage water in irrigation. A computer program (Fıuat Ujaj) using Visual Basic language was constructed to use the largest possible amount of drainage water for irrigation after removing the toxic effects and then calculates the relative yield of the selected crops. The Main Outflow Drain (MOD) in Iraq was selected as a saline water resource which has 4.63 dS m-1 Electrical Conductivity (EC). This saline water contained high concentrations of chlorine and sodium ions. MFUP results showed that toxic effect of these ions can be removed by diluting with 35% of the nearby river water. MFUP results showed that the crops with high and medium tolerance to salinity give an acceptable yield ratio when they were irrigated with diluted water (35%) to remove toxicity effects only, while the dilution increases for crops of medium sensitivity, but the acceptable yield of sensitive crops is not achieved except with fresh river water. If the crop production is lower than the economically acceptable limit, another 5% of the river water will be added to mitigate, and the dilution process continues until the percentage of the river water become 80% of the irrigation water. If the required product is not achieved, then the program instructs to irrigate this crop with the river water only.","PeriodicalId":39816,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Design and Nature and Ecodynamics","volume":"41 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"74384103","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
