First, the uncertainties are converted to disturbance input, the conditions to enable the closed-loop system to be stable are established and a state feedback controller which guarantees that the closed-loop system will be regular, impulse free and robust stable is presented in terms of the solutions to linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Finally, the effectiveness of the developed approach is illustrated by a numerical example.","PeriodicalId":397095,"journal":{"name":"2014 11th International Conference on Fuzzy Systems and Knowledge Discovery (FSKD)","volume":"205 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-12-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116378318","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In our paper, we implemented an improved parallel Apriori algorithm which realized both count and candidate generation steps under MapReduce framework, while existing parallel Apriori algorithm only considered count step. We analyzed the time complexity of our improved parallel algorithm and compared to the original parallel algorithm, which indicates advantages of our algorithm with massive candidate item sets. Based on our experiment result, we proved that our algorithm performs better under big data situation and achieves excellent speedup feature.","PeriodicalId":397095,"journal":{"name":"2014 11th International Conference on Fuzzy Systems and Knowledge Discovery (FSKD)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-12-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128716406","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The RFA descriptor uses Fourier transform to convert the image gradients in the local region of a keypoint from spatial domain to frequency domain. The transformed gradient frequencies are then analysed to obtain the principle description within the local region. The principle description is represented by low frequency Fourier coefficients and they are directly used in the descriptor to represent the keypoint. Experimental results using a series of performance evaluation procedures showed that RFA descriptor demonstrates higher performances against different image variations comparing to benchmark local image descriptors. The results also indicated that the RFA descriptor is particularly reliable when used on the images, which are degraded by blurring and JPG compression. According to the performance evaluations presented in this paper, spectral analysis shows strong potential for local image description. It paves the way for future research in alternative spectrum-based techniques such as Wavelet transform to precisely analyse local image patches.","PeriodicalId":397095,"journal":{"name":"2014 11th International Conference on Fuzzy Systems and Knowledge Discovery (FSKD)","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-12-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133013543","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Two benchmark datasets RWCP-DB and Sound Dataset are utilized for this purpose. A set of acoustic features for daily sound recognition is identified and used. First, sound classification is carried out using individual classifiers on both datasets. As the classification accuracy comes out lower with base classifiers as compared to the results reported in literature, ensemble methods are then employed for classification task. The ensemble methods prove to be effective and robust in recognizing daily sounds as they yield high recognition rates. The classification accuracies achieved by our proposed setup of ensemble methods are higher than those mentioned in literature for the two daily sound datasets.","PeriodicalId":397095,"journal":{"name":"2014 11th International Conference on Fuzzy Systems and Knowledge Discovery (FSKD)","volume":"62 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-12-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126272074","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To address the alignment problem, feature-based (such as SIFT) SRC method has been proposed. But it always works not ideally for the contiguously occluded face images. After analyzing, we point it to the issue of features' reliability for multi-task recognition. Through the theoretical analysis on the sparsity of SR coefficient, a formula for evaluating features' representation reliability (RR) is proposed to optimize the multi-task feature-based SRC. In this paper, firstly, we present the main thought of the proposed formula of RR. Then it is introduced to the feature-based SRC method. Finally, experiments on Yale and AR database are performed. The proposed method is compared with the methods of MKD-SRC, SIFT-matching and original SRC. Experimental results show that the proposed method is more robust for simultaneously handling the variations in illumination, alignment, expression, and occlusion.","PeriodicalId":397095,"journal":{"name":"2014 11th International Conference on Fuzzy Systems and Knowledge Discovery (FSKD)","volume":"39 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-12-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115955786","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
