An initial semi-directive interview carried out at family homes made an inventory of the situation of the children and their families. The care needs identified led to interventions for 6 to 12 months. A care quality assessment questionnaire and an open satisfaction questionnaire were sent to the families. The 28 families included expressed difficulties and shortcomings in their health course. The needs relate to the medical, psychological, and social spheres, underlining the need for linking the different partners of care. The interventions mainly consisted of coordination, as well as the start of projects for requests for respite and training, particularly in pain assessment. The end-of-study questionnaires particularly show satisfaction with the initial interview, but no impact on quality of life was found. We found that the parents of children with severe psychomotor impairment are asking for an extended interview in their living environment to express their difficulties and their needs, as is usually offered by palliative care teams. The various requests from families can be answered by linking the different care partners, but also by setting up systems dedicated to severe psychomotor impairment.</p></div>","PeriodicalId":39498,"journal":{"name":"Motricite Cerebrale","volume":"44 2","pages":"Pages 36-43"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46798913","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However their best practice recommendations for rehabilitation spark debate. The relevance of the work of “motor development milestone” is criticized in this regard. This study aims to identify the professional practice expectations and to observe whether invariants can be observed during care built on the work of “motor development milestone” for children with cerebral palsy (CP) in order to know whether they meet these expectations.</p></div><div><h3>Method</h3><p>A literature review was conducted to identify the expectations of professional practice for the rehabilitation of CP children using qualitative analysis sorted by thematization to construct an analysis grid. An observational study of practice by a selfconfrontation interview with 3 independent physiotherapists was carried out. The interviews were analyzed using the grid in order to first identify possible invariants of practice and then, if necessary, to link them to the expectations of professional practice.</p></div><div><h3>Results</h3><p>Forty-one “sub-headings” were identified to describe the professional practice expectations for the rehabilitation of CP children. Experimental assistive mobility with an electric wheelchair is one example. Here, we present seven case reports of adults with multiple and severe disabilities, living in institutions. They were proposed training sessions, guided by a multidisciplinary team and dedicated to the discovery of using an electric wheelchair. We show that the learning milestones that are described in children with motor deficiency when beginning to use an electric wheelchair are also observed in our adults. For each individual, depending on the severity of his/her neurological damage, this experiment revealed the level (exploratory or operative) of cognitive ability that was reached after training. For all of them, the discovery of a self-initiated mobility was a source of intense emotional and attentional mobilisation.</p></div>","PeriodicalId":39498,"journal":{"name":"Motricite Cerebrale","volume":"44 1","pages":"Pages 16-20"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48389651","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
