The interaction between friction angle and effective rake angle has been investigated based on a slip-line field-based machining model from the literature. Machining forces and cut chip thickness values were obtained from orthogonal cutting tests and employed in the process model. The proposed model also allows for calculating material properties such as shear flow stress and fracture toughness. The proposed model can successfully simulate machining forces during shearing-dominated machining conditions. However, machine-hours are costly and during the training, the MT is unavailable for regular production purposes. Here, virtual real-size models offer a solution by providing basic operation principles to future operators. In this context, it is yet unknown whether a virtual teaching enhanced by real walking is similar to a real teaching scenario regarding the learning efficiency and long-term memory retention. This paper describes a study comparing the learning efficiency of a virtual training session with traditional instructions on a real MT. The learning success of both training groups is objectively and subjectively assessed on a real MT a week later. In this assessment, the task completion time and the number of errors are recorded. These products impart inherent benefits in manufacturing intricate contours and shapes at less additional expenses. This emphasizes the importance of studying the mechanical behavior of the manufactured parts, using polymeric materials in different orientations. In this investigation density, tensile behavior & hardness were studied for 3D-printed parts produced in four different orientations (A, B, C and D). It is found that for the best mechanical properties part should be fabricated using orientation ‘A’. Furthermore, for density and tensile strength part should not be fabricated using orientation ‘C’.
