Design/Methodology/Approach: The considerations based on the analysis of the literature and the results of empirical research indicate that enterprises use both direct forms (such as sales representatives, recommendations of other clients, fairs and exhibitions) and on-line forms (such as suppliers' websites). Specialized industry as sources of information about suppliers. portals as a source of information about suppliers. The thesis is confirmed by the results of empirical research conducted with the computer-assisted telephone interviewing (CATI) technique in medium and large manufacturing companies operating in Poland. Findings: The results of the conducted research indicate that the sources of information concerning new suppliers most frequently indicated by the surveyed companies are visits of sales representatives of suppliers sending the offer by suppliers, suppliers' websites, direct contacts of the management/specialists employed in the enterprise with suppliers, recommendations of other companies and fairs and exhibitions. The results of the conducted research also indicate that for manufacturers the most important sources of information about suppliers were: suppliers' websites, sending the offer by suppliers, direct contacts of the management / specialists employed in the enterprise with suppliers and the visits of sales representatives of suppliers. Practical Implications: The considerations based on the analysis of the literature and the results of empirical research indicate that both direct forms (such as sales representatives, recommendations of other clients, fairs and exhibitions) and electronic on-line forms of contact (such as suppliers' websites, specialized industry portals) play an important role in the B2B market as sources of information about suppliers. Originality/Value: Research on sources of information about suppliers used in purchasing processes on the B2B market is undertaken very rarely. Design/Methodology/Approach: The adopted method of examining the impact of the technology fear of warehouse workers on the level of their acceptance of work in an automated environment is influenced by 12 variables reflecting various areas of technology anxiety. Statements regarding the studied variables were made on the basis of previously conducted qualitative research and literature studies. The measuring tool in the study was a paper questionnaire. The survey was conducted among warehouse employees of the company that is a leader in handling e-commerce shipments in Poland. Findings: It should be noted that the impact of the fear of the technology of warehouse workers on the level of their acceptance of work in an automated environment is a relatively new. At the same time a significant phenomenon, both in the cognitive and methodological sphere, translates into the need to continue research contributing to the exploration of the problem itself. Especially when one takes into account the dynamically developing trend of automation and robotization of enterprises, which forces their clear demand for knowledge in the field of adapting employees to work in an automated environment. Originality/Value: The results of the analysis of the impact of the fear of the technology of warehouse employees on the level of their acceptance of work in an automated environment constitute an important construct for the development of a prototype of the assessment center scenario. The main problem that negatively affects individual structures is the problem of vibrations transmitted from means of transport to the road. By performing specialized tests before assembly, we are able to assess the amount of vibrations in a specific area of the road. The paper presents the methods that were used in this type of research and the possibilities of using the above-mentioned methods. on-road assembly tests. Design/methodology/approach: The authors conducted a series of tests using modern sensors allowing for precise indications of vibrations in the studied area. Then, taking into account the tests of vibro-isolating materials, they had the opportunity to properly select them for individual road construction elements. Findings: As a result of the research, it is possible to minimize damage from means of transport to individual road construction elements and the roads themselves. Practical implications: The proposed solutions are different from those available on the market, and make it possible to control damage to roads, and even prevent them to a fairly large extent, which has an impact on extending the quality of repairs. According to the authors, performing tests in individual areas is necessary before installing road structural elements, as it extends their service life. Originality value: The use of original solutions not available on the market. While different aspects and factors shaping BMI are increasingly exploited by researchers, there is still a lack of studies presenting application approaches that will ensure the effectiveness of a systematic implementation process for BMI. The aim of this article is to examine the determinants of the process of implementing innovative business models in Polish enterprises. Design/Methodology/Approach: The study was based on a five-stage BMI implementation process, in which individual phases were assessed from the perspective of entities involved in the cooperation, the resources used in the process, the encountered barriers and key implementation effects. Each of the 39 individual items included in the studied variables was assessed using a five-point R. Likert scale. The research was carried out using the CAWI method and covered a total of 235 randomly selected Polish enterprises. Findings: The results of the research on the determinants of BMI implementation have shown that the most important partner are the buyers, the resource - technology, the result obtained - work efficiency, and that the key barrier is the lack of knowledge. The use of primary data allows this study to indicate the specificity of the implementation of individual stages of BMI implementation, which are presented in detail in the text. The consequence of this revolution is the emergence of new requirements in terms of the competences of employees at every organizational level. The authors focused on the requirements of 4.0 engineers, in connection with the managerial competences expected of them. Design/methodology/approach: In order to answer the research questions posed, a review of the literature and commercial reports presenting the results of research on the expected managerial competences and the profile of an engineer 4.0 was carried out. Findings: The conducted research allowed for the development of the Body of management competencies for Engineer 4.0 model - BoMC4E4.0. Practical Implications: Research results will help to identify the scope of managerial competences of an engineer in the era of Industry 4.0, which in practice may contribute to the creation of requirements for candidates applying for a job in a managerial position in manufacturing companies, educational entities to adjust training programs to contemporary requirements of industry and other researcher to undertake in-depth research in this field. Design/Methodology/Approach: There is a research gap in the world literature related to the project of the concept of stabilizing the operation of power grids. This article assumes that the main factor destabilizing the operation of power grids in the long term is the surplus of energy from RES (supply phase). There is no interdisciplinary approach to the presented issues, therefore the common area discussed in the article is of great scientific and application significance. Findings: The current work on hydrogen technologies shows that the use of hydrogen in the economy adjusts the systems to its extraction, production and distribution. In this scope, there must be comprehensive design and management of processes in the phase of supply, production, storage and distribution of hydrogen, in terms of efficiency and maximum support for the achievement of socio-economic goals. Practical Implications: Solving the problem related to the instability of renewable energy sources due to the dependence of the volume of energy produced on uncontrolled factors. In the near future, this problem will only increase due to the increase in the number of producers of electricity from RES and the instability of the operation of power grids. Therefore, it is important to prepare a concept for the operation of the power grid stabilization system in terms of the supply chain phases. Originality/Value: The priority direction of political actions in the field of sustainable development of the energy sector is the course of the energy transformation (decarbonisation) and the flourishing share of renewable energy sources (RES) in the primary energy supply. Design/Methodology/Approach: The following research methods were used: desk research and case study. The results of the research can be used in terms of recommendations for entrepreneurs in the approach to implementing the RPA concept, and thus improving the functioning of the organization. Findings: The results of the research can be used in terms of recommendations for entrepreneurs in the approach to implementing the RPA concept, and thus improving the functioning of the organization. The term Robotic Process Automation (RPA) appeared relatively recently, but the phenomenon itself has been around for a long time. Practical Implications: Logistics processes, and in particular the costs related to their implementation, are an important element of the economic process. Automation of logistics processes related to logistics processes, and even entire production lines, is becoming a global trend. At the same time, the implementation of this type of improvements and innovations can be carried out in virtually any organization, regardless of the industry and scale of activity. Based on the case study, it was shown that the robotic automation of processes in the logistics of the tested production company contributed to the reduction of the total costs of the entity by about 10%. Its first part focuses on various aspects of defining and optimising buyer service. Next, the focus turns to the benefits and barriers of service standardisation, and at the end of the text, the focus turns to logistics buyer service, understood as the ability of a company's logistics system to meet customer expectations in such categories as lead time, certainty and security of transactions, communication with the customer, and efficiency and convenience of service. The authors have made a comprehensive analysis of customer service as a business process. They have focused on the ways in which customer service is perceived and the factors determining its level. They then evaluated the advantages of standardising logistics service, without ignoring the limitations of implementing this process. Design/Methodology/Approach: The paper uses the method of descriptive characteristics of market phenomena and processes. The professional literature on customer service standardisation was comprehensively searched. Findings: The results of the analyses are of both cognitive and pragmatic value, especially in the context of undertaking work towards the development and implementation of a standardised logistics strategy for customer service. Originality/Value: Standardisation of the customer service process allows for a quicker response to customer preferences, and also makes it possible to design the process in such a way that it has a positive impact on the company's operations and becomes a source of its competitive advantage. Kulińska, Marek Matulewski","doi":"10.35808/ersj/2958","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.35808/ersj/2958","url":null,"abstract":": Purpose: The aim of the article was to indicate selected risk management instruments for the identification of deviations, and threats in the flow of supply chain processes in the furniture industry. It is based on research conducted by the authors on the example of a selected company in the supply chain of a furniture industry, IKEA. Dersign/methodology/approach: The FMEA method was applied in this study. Relationships were determined on the basis of guesses, observations and conversations with people who worked or work at IKEA. The business areas involved in the flow of goods and services of the above industry were analysed. The potential type of defects was defined together with their consequences. The probability of defect occurrence was determined on a scale from 1 to 10. The RPN parameter was determined. Findings: For a given branch, the biggest area of potential defects could be problems in the sales department. The distribution department also needs significant improvement, as transport companies have significantly inflated their financial expectations and the frequency of deliveries by road transport has increased significantly due to changes in the trend of customer orders via the Internet. The computational experiment consisted of applying a newly developed random search algorithm to solve a number of cyclic delivery synchronisation problems. The results obtained by the algorithm were compared with the solutions calculated by the exact method. Practical implications: Based on the above data, a risk map of the analysed risk factors was created. The matrix shows the occurrence of hazardous situations and the impact of the risk on the enterprise, manifested in specific ranges of significance of the occurrence of risk factors. Originality value: It can be concluded that there were risk factors in the enterprise that could critically disrupt the course of processes in the sphere of procurement, production and distribution, as well as in the management of logistics processes. Design/Methodology/Approach: In order to answer the stated research questions, a statistical analysis was carried out of the obtained research results on the digitalisation of logistics processes in the pharmacy industry. The hypotheses were verified using Spearman's correlation. Findings: Activities related to the digitization of in-hospital logistics processes can significantly contribute to the support of the treatment process, thanks to the use of appropriate solutions and tools contributing to the streamlining of selected activities performed by medical personnel. There are a number of features that differentiate healthcare entities, such as the size of the hospital, the level of reference, or the use of IT tools. Practical Implications: Hospitals play an important role in the health care system by providing medical services to citizens. The purpose of providing hospital services is primarily the implementation of the treatment process aimed at preserving, saving, restoring or improving the health of patients who use such services. Originality value: The present research, with the verification of hypotheses, was conducted for the first time in this area.
