Para los neoliberales, la democracia es un problema, una realidad historica que debiera ser disciplinada para el mercado. Estas notas de investigacion plantean algunos elementos de la discusion sobre la implementacion del programa neoliberal ligada al proceso de globalizacion capitalista durante los anos 1970 y 1980. Capitalismos centrales y perifericos experimentaron en distinta forma e intensidad las nuevas politicas centradas en la proteccion de la empresa privada, el mercado y la iniciativa individual, desplazando los objetivos del pleno empleo y el bienestar social. Este despliegue se aprecia en sociedades tan distintas como Chile y Alemania Federal, desde mediados de la decada de 1970 y los anos 1980. El caso de Alemania evidencia que la democracia puede limitar al neoliberalismo, mientras que la dictadura en Chile jugo un rol fundamental en propagar las politicas neoliberales. EnglishNeoliberalism is related in different levels to the force and authoritarianism that the market -and related sectors- are able to mobilize. For neoliberals, democracy is a problem and a historical reality that should be disciplined to satisfy the demands of the market. These research notes raise some elements of discussion about the implementation of the neoliberal program during the 1970s and 1980s concerning the process of capitalist globalization. Both central and peripheral capitalism experienced the intensity of new policies focused on the protection of private companies and individual initiative in different ways. These policies displaced the objectives of full employment and policies of social welfare. This deployment can be observed in societies as different as Chile and Federal Germany from the mid-1970s to the 1980s. The German case demonstrates that democracy can constrain neoliberalism, whereas in Chile the dictatorship played a fundamental role in propagating neoliberal policies.","PeriodicalId":39049,"journal":{"name":"Revista Austral de Ciencias Sociales","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44082518","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A traves del seguimiento de los procesos de profesionalizacion, las trayectorias laborales y de las historias familiares y emocionales de 30 militantes y ex militantes de los partidos que formaron el Movimiento Democratico Popular (MDP 1983-1987)1, desde 1990 hasta la actualidad, el estudio discute los principales cambios de las formas de participacion politica en los ultimos 30 anos. En base a los aportes de la sociologia del individuo y la sociologia de las emociones, el trabajo interpreta los dilemas de la recomposicion de las vidas despues de la lucha anti dictadura: la exposicion de las contradicciones de la reconversion laboral y economica, junto con la discusion de los costos emocionales de la participacion politica, permiten afirmar que los militantes viven procesos dolorosos y conflictivos de transformacion identitaria que no terminan de explicarse por el fin de la participacion politica o por la crisis que viven los partidos de izquierda a partir de 1990. Son procesos mas complejos de reconfiguracion de identidad que surgen del modo en que los entrevistados elaboran las emociones asociadas al compromiso politico y reinterpretan los sentidos colectivos de sus experiencias de lucha. EnglishThis article analyzes the processes of social and political reconversion of the Chilean Left during the Post-Dictatorship period from a biographical perspective. By tracking professional and labor trajectories as well as emotional and family stories of thirty former militants of the parties that formed the Movimiento Democratico Popular (MDP 1983-1987), from 1990 until today, this study discusses the main changes in the forms of political participation in the last 30 years. Drawing on contributions from sociology of the individual as well as sociology of emotions, this paper interprets the dilemma of recomposing lives after anti dictatorship struggle: the exposure of contradictions in labor and economic reconversions, alongside the emotional costs of political participation. This findings allows to affirm that militants live painful processes and conflicting identity transformations which are not explained entirely by the end of political participation or the crisis of leftist parties during the nineties. This paper claims that these are highly complex processes of identity reconfiguration that arise from the way in which the interviewees elaborate the emotions associated with political commitment and reinterpret the political and collective meanings of their fighting experiences.","PeriodicalId":39049,"journal":{"name":"Revista Austral de Ciencias Sociales","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"70486207","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

La desagrarizacion en cuanto proceso de cambio social es tambien un mecanismo de transmision y de generacion de desigualdades sociales. El articulo trata sobre los efectos que la division territorial de las actividades agrarias tiene sobre la reproduccion de las desigualdades sociales. De este proceso de diferenciacion socio-territorial se han examinado varias dimensiones: En primer lugar, los cambios socioeconomicos y culturales en el campo no solo generan territorios agricolas de especializacion flexible, sino que redefinen las formas de vida tanto de la poblacion rural como de la poblacion urbana. En segundo lugar, los cambios en la diferenciacion rural-urbana generan nuevas conexiones socio-territoriales y la consiguiente reconfiguracion de los lugares. Asimismo, el aumento de la movilidad (migraciones y desplazamientos) esta asociado con la segmentacion etno-territorial de las comunidades. A manera de conclusion, destacamos diferentes fuentes de la desigualdad propias del proceso de desagrarizacion. EnglishDe-agrarianisation refers to the set of changes and transformations experienced by rural areas and populations during the process of formation of the world economies. De-agrarianisation, understood as social change, is also a process of transmission and generation of social inequalities. This article deals with the effects that the territorial division of agrarian activities has on the reproduction of social inequalities. Some dimensions of this socio-territorial differentiation process examined in this article are, firstly, socioeconomic and cultural changes in the countryside generate agricultural territories according to flexible productive specialization. These changes also redefine the forms of life of both rural and urban populations. Secondly, changes in the rural-urban differentiation create new socio-territorial connections, which imply spatial reconfigurations. In addition, increasing mobility (migrations and displacements) is associated with the ethno-territorial segmentation of communities. By way of conclusion, this paper highlights different sources of inequality within the de-agrarianisation process.","PeriodicalId":39049,"journal":{"name":"Revista Austral de Ciencias Sociales","volume":"15 25 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"70486139","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
