The research methodology is based on the civilization approach to understanding historical and socio-political processes. The importance of analysing the content of Russia’s civilizational mission from the “Moscow is the third Rome” perspective is shown. This article focuses on the emergence and relevance of Russia’s civilizational mission expressed in the formula “Moscow is the Third Rome”. The process of strengthening the belief about the state’s sacred mission within the modern Russian society is investigated. It is shown that there have been three attempts in Russian history to create a harmonious Russian Empire, with the third attempt having been undertaken in 2000. To study the establishment and development of Hispanophony and analyse its potential as a resource for shaping the foreign policy of Spain. Procedure and methods. Information provided by international consulting agencies and Spanish research institutions, as well as data gathered from Russian and Spanish scientific papers on the establishment of Hispanophony and its current state were generalised and examined. Results. The study revealed that the potential of Hispanophony has not been fully realized due to the lack of a unified strategic approach. However, the Government of Spain recognized the necessity to develop an integrated model promoting the Spanish language and culture during implementing its foreign policy. Theoretical/practical relevance. The paper identified problems and difficulties of the modern His-panophone policy, as well as defined a number of areas in which Hispanophony can be used as a resource for promotion of political interests of Spain. Particular attention is paid to how the Russian understanding of the Eurasian idea evolved and to the potential of its conjunction with alternative unification projects of the European Union and the PRC. Given the complex nature of the stated problem, the authors employed interdisciplinary, systems and problem approaches, as well as political, historical, sociological, comparative and other research methods, which enabled the analysis of the evolution of views on the Eurasian integration held by the Russian leader V. The author considers demographic, socio-cultural, military-political and other factors which contributed to Barbados becoming a relatively independent territory governed by England. The development of the island is shown in the context of historical events, taking place in England in the period under study, in terms of their impact on the formation of economic and political relations in the colony. Moreover, their informational value for the purposes of investigating the national environmental history is discussed. The materials relating to the history of nature protection are mainly contained in the funds of the bodies of agriculture, forestry and water management, as well as in intersectoral structures, which are responsible for the management and planning of the national economy.
