Researchers claim that initial lack of engagement and psychological factors may have had serious implication on students' perception of online learning and hence their capacity for knowledge retention. The objective of this research is to explore if the trend is going beyond an initial phobia-based resistance to the modal change or are there structural aspects. The research also addresses the impact of technology and its management on students' online readiness, specifically, their computer and internet self-efficacy, and their ability to communicate through online platforms and express their emotions. The research was conducted on a survey of 225 business students at Nile University at two stages, the first was during the initial wave lock-down in Spring 2020 and the second during the third wave lockdown in Spring 2021. Instruments used was the multidimensional instrument for college students' readiness for online learning “The Online Learning Readiness Scale” (OLRS). Nile University was among the early universities in Egypt who has managed to swiftly transform all their courses to the online format post the first wave of the pandemic. Results showed measurable changes in the student's perception as well as psychological factors changes. The results have considerable implications on how to handle the longer-term expectations from anxiety, readiness for engagement and perception of knowledge retention among the business school students. Tartibu","doi":"10.52202/060557-0091","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.52202/060557-0091","url":null,"abstract":"This research aims to investigate a possible integration between Lean Six Sigma tools and principles and Industry 4.0 technologies to address pre-harvest and post-harvest food waste with a focus on Sub-Saharan Africa. With the projected increase in world population by United Nations to increase by 33% in 2050 and 99% increase in Sub-Saharan African in the same year. These foreseen changes will present global food security concerns in the future, with the greatest demand growth from the Sub-Saharan African region. The United Nations and the Food and Agriculture Organization predict that about 1.3 billion tons of food are globally wasted or lost per year, which also further adds to a global food security concern, bringing about a rise in food prices due to growing consumer demand. To address this impending challenge on food security globally, we aim to introduce analytics by applying advanced information systems synergies with the lean six sigma DMAIC methodology to systematically proffer solutions to production waste by understanding the critical factors responsible and curbing them with the latest innovations. Banks that can capitalize on technologies and are able to integrate them will have a competitive advantage and will be considered one of the winning banks in the financial sector. In the COVID-19 pandemic, banks face a hard challenge and bank leaders had focused their attention on offering high quality customer service based on the use of Information Technology. Technology Foresight could help us to predict the expected Banking Services technology for the next 10 years. The main purpose of this paper is to investigate how the digitalization process in the banking has affected its relationship with customers. Three main actors were studied: client experience and banker/bank productivity. SWOT analysis and surveys of actors' opinions were used to foresight the technology might affect the banking services. One of the significant findings is that financial institutions, open for this collaborative innovation, will need to concentrate on digital transformation to meet the dynamic customer requirements that will eventually lead to a higher profit for them. The second major finding was that the technologies like artificial intelligence, blockchain, etc. can provide an effective product set to clients resulting in scalability of transaction banking business. However, it does come at the cost of robots replacing front end customer interface. This could cause a threat of redundancy to human capital and increase the training costs on the banks.
