It attempts to fill an existing gap in the Job Quality literature by providing empirical evidence on job quality in the banking sector in a small island developing state like Mauritius. Not many, if any, of the studies conducted in the banking sector concentrate on job quality in a small island development state (SIDS) context. This exploratory study therefore made use of the qualitative interpretive research paradigm using semi-structured, face-to-face interviews. The population comprised of banking professionals at supervisory and managerial levels across different banking institutions in the island. Purposive sampling method was adopted using the snowball sampling technique which used the researcher’s judgment in locating the type of people who would provide rich information pertaining to job quality. 15 banking professionals agreed to take part in the study. Findings revealed that banking professionals in Mauritius better perceived recognition rather than earnings quality, and the social rather than physical work environment as major determinants of their job quality. They also opined that their job security was however based on their performance and willingness to learn and grow in the organisation. Appropriate recommendations were thus provided in the light of these findings.","PeriodicalId":387670,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Sustainable Business and Economics","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-05-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132719458","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The COVID-19 pandemic highlighted the importance of sustainable innovation for economic recovery. This study aimed to identify the critical factors needed to stimulate innovation, as well as any barriers. Using a case study approach, emerging findings from an online survey of participants from a range of private and government organizations were explored through in-depth interviews with selected \"innovation influencers\". It was found that the economic and cultural environments in Bahrain favor a conservative approach to innovation, with the opening of new market opportunities with existing products the most reported form applied. The need for a sustainable economic recovery post-pandemic has raised awareness of the importance of innovation in all its forms. The environmental factors influencing innovation are charted in an ecosystem model, with effective leadership and a national strategy identified as key components. The Innovation Ecosystem derived from this case study of Bahrain has wider applicability as a benchmarking framework. By mapping the local context against framework elements, identified gaps can usefully inform a sustainable innovation strategy at both a national and organizational level.","PeriodicalId":387670,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Sustainable Business and Economics","volume":"136 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-05-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115582756","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Even though their impact on the traditional economy is impossible to measure. Security tokens (ST) are the ones that stand out due to the preference they have from producers and consumers. The former obtains financial resources efficiently for their specific projects. While the latter look for STs in global digital platforms of trust and security. Which are regulated by public securities sales offices. The research proposes a method under the fuzzy logic theory and its applied models. It highlights the use of the triangular fuzzy numbers, the Fuzzy Delfi, Expertons, Hamming Distance, and the fuzzy inference system (FIS). The benefits and limitations of the proposal were highlighted when the proposal was used in an agro-export company. The route or algorithm of the value system to be followed in the execution of the investments stands out. Therefore, the research fulfills its objective and is very useful for small and medium export 4.0 companies. Since they are eager to obtain cash flow to improve their technical efficiency and to be able to export their artifacts to global markets. That is to say, the producer of goods can obtain an unprecedented benefit in an agile and efficient way in the context of Industry 4.0.","PeriodicalId":387670,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Sustainable Business and Economics","volume":"53 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126292986","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study has been conducted through a qualitative approach. The Coronavirus changed worldwide patterns intensively. These differences are caused by the high levels of accidental and secondary funding that this virus reflects. This study showed how e-commerce has grown due to the coronavirus. As individuals deal with their new living conditions, they have changed their shopping behavior to meet their requirements. The COVID-19 pandemic significantly affects many aspects of life, including how individuals deal with their needs and not their needs. The behavior of people, the nature of businesses, and the manner of life have changed. It spreads fears among individuals that they should avoid interacting with. The effect of Coronavirus has transformed the nature of business in the entire e-commerce globe. In particular, COVID-19 has a substantial influence on global e-commerce and in certain cases, has negative consequences, although generally, e-commerce is quickly increasing because of coronaviruses. Moreover, e-commerce businesses confront various problems, including extended delivery times, movement control challenges, social distance, and lock-up or lock-down. The shipping and supply processes are now rather sluggish, yet people are still buying since they do not have any other option. Thus, people move to technology because of coronaviruses. This study has shown the trend of e-commerce in recent times and also shows how consumers tend to adopt e-commerce. There is no such issue in the previous literature. This study fills in the gaps on these issues and also helps to improve the global economy.","PeriodicalId":387670,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Sustainable Business and Economics","volume":"48 2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129794194","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is a “circulation” and “human” idea aimed at balancing the construction and design of the residential environment with the responsibility and values of environmental resources and ecology. This study was focused on the formulation of planning and design guidelines that comply with the current circular building centred economy. Input from industry operatives was collected using semi-structural interviews and a pyramidal approach was employed using logical reasoning to set up planning and design objectives as well as specifications in 4 dimensions covering 12 items. The results provide substantial references for the promotion of current environmental codes compliant with circular building. They can also be used to shape up resource circulation in the construction industry, and help to meet the many needs of sustainable development in the planning and design of circular buildings.","PeriodicalId":387670,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Sustainable Business and Economics","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117167460","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The environment and human resources are used by the companies but eventually, they will react in a repugnant way. The environment is being polluted every day and it is a threat to human life as well as the world. To assess the impact of activities being done by the companies, a non-governmental organization was established in Boston called Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) in 1997. GRI (Global Reporting Initiative) established a sustainability reporting framework that provides a systematic guideline for the sake of companies to disclose their performance on the environmental, economic, and social degree of sustainability. This study will find out how responsible multinational (listed and non-listed) companies (MNC) in the case of sustainability reporting when they are consistently doing business in the environment of Bangladesh. This study was analyzed based on GRI (Global Reporting Initiative) guidelines towards their reporting on sustainability. A quantitative score from 0 to 3 was given for each of 84 performance indicators (9, 30, and 45 exhibitors for environmental, economic, and social dimensions respectively) of the GRI 3 guidelines based on sustainability reporting. This study reports that tidings on the economic degree are better compared to environmental and social dimensions. Much deviation is reported in environmental and social dimensions, but less deviation is reported in economic dimensions by the selected companies as the sample. Overall, the reporting practices of Nestle Bangladesh Ltd are better than other selected companies.","PeriodicalId":387670,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Sustainable Business and Economics","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122559856","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
