These drawbacks can be mitigated using an improved drive strategy. The drive scheme applied in this work employed a DC-DC-AC boost switched capacitor converter to drive a 0.25 horse power single phase induction motor at a regulated duty cycle of 0.5 and 0.75. The motor was simulated under steady state and transient state at a varying load torque of 0-22.5Nm. The converter topology integrates the inductive switching cell with a switched capacitor in performing a direct energy conversion at a high output voltage gain. A simulation process carried out on the complete drive model showed that an enhanced starting torque and a speed regulation values of 0.2255 and 0.9271 were obtained at 0.5 and 0.75 duty cycle under steady state whereas 0.2094 and 0.2096 were obtained under transient state. The results obtained also showed that different efficiency values of 82.86% and 76.79% were achieved at 0.75 and 0.5 duty cycle. A stable motor operation with an improved voltage gain, appreciable power output and reduced torque pulsations were achieved at 0.75 duty cycle. All simulation processes were accomplished in MATLAB/SIMULINK 2014.","PeriodicalId":38705,"journal":{"name":"International Journal on Electrical Engineering and Informatics","volume":"17 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"87089872","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The high transient voltage from a lightning strike can cause huge damage to the devices of (OWT). In this paper a complete transient circuit model is established for the grid-connected offshore windfarm and an efficient analysis is also presented to evaluate the effect of changing the circuit parameters of blade, tower, grounding resistance, and lightning characteristics. Based on the circuit model, the transient voltage at the most sensitive points of the (OWT) can be determined during direct lightning strikes by ATP-EMTP and MATLAB software. Finally, mitigation techniques are investigated to reduce the overvoltage transients on an offshore wind turbine. This study used the GB50057-94 standard, as it stimulates the worst-case scenario especially in the regions with high lightning-strike probability. The results show that the use of the grounding wire is preferred as an active mitigation technique in offshore wind farms.","PeriodicalId":38705,"journal":{"name":"International Journal on Electrical Engineering and Informatics","volume":"126 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90579016","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One way to improve the search effectiveness, as well as the quality of text categorization is to build an effective stemmer that helps to match users’ queries with relevant documents in IR and reduce the space of textual representation in TC. This has been always an interesting research topic in IR and TC. We can define stemming as the process of reducing inflected and derived words to their reduced forms (stems or roots). Many stemmers have been developed for different languages, but there is always many weaknesses and problems. In the present work, we have developed a multilingual stemming approach, based on the extraction of the word root and that exploits the technique of n-grams of characters. Our experiments have been done on three languages which are: Arabic, English, and French.","PeriodicalId":38705,"journal":{"name":"International Journal on Electrical Engineering and Informatics","volume":"41 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"77337491","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The FA data found that some +CG, – CG and IC flashes were initiated with and some without a negative bipolar event (NBE). However, the VA data showed that an impulsive initiation event always initiated lightning flashes. The initiating event was usually followed by one or more enhancing events that increased the local electric field before the first classic IB pulse occurred during the initial electric field change (IEC) period. More VA pulses were detected than FA pulses during the IEC period. These findings indicate that lightning initiation emits VHF pulses or fast positive breakdowns (FPBs) and is accompanied by several negative breakdowns of IB pulses. The FA data clearly showed a negative slope of the IEC in the +CG flashes The IB pulse of the +CG flashes moved negative charge upward, similar to IC flashes. The arithmetic mean (AM) IEC duration for the +CG, –CG, and IC flashes was 0.24 ms, 0.29 ms, and 0.53 ms, respectively.","PeriodicalId":38705,"journal":{"name":"International Journal on Electrical Engineering and Informatics","volume":"107 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"77448105","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

DBD is also determined by the type of barrier made of materials with various dielectric constants. The power supply used in this study is a parallel resonant pushpull inverter using a flyback transformer. Five types of ceramics (K1, K2, K3, K4, and K5) and two types of granites (G1 and G2) as barriers were used in this study. The gap between the high voltage electrode and the barrier was 1.2 mm. The results showed that plasma with high light intensity is found in K3, K5, G1 and G2. Discharge current in G1 is higher than others. The highest discharge voltage occurs in the G1 with an air gap of 1.2 mm. K3, K5, K1 and K2 have better ozone concentrations than K1, K2 and K4. From the results of the calculation of the dielectrics used, all of them have a dielectric permittivity value of less than 15 and the relative permittivity of these ceramics affects the shape of the plasma, the light intensity of the plasma and the concentration of ozone produced. This type of granite as barrier that produces light intensity, plasma voltage, discharge current and the resulting ozone concentration is higher than the ceramic type.","PeriodicalId":38705,"journal":{"name":"International Journal on Electrical Engineering and Informatics","volume":"132 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"74977643","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Adaptive Least Mean Square (LMS) was merged with Min-max Normalization and Fuzzy Intuitive Sets (FIS) algorithms to create the proposed technique. This method might assess the value of uncertainty and information, which will influence the dataset's feasibility. If the dataset has an uncertainty value closed 1.5 and an information value of less than 0.5, it is usable. The method has been tested on both public and private datasets. As a result, intelligent irrigation systems that can manage the utilized resources are required. Using the Lagrange Multiplier approach, an optimal strategy for managing water and power resources is proposed in this work. It is employed because of its high accuracy solution and low hardware complexity. In the agricultural area, the optimization issue is phrased as a trade-off between water and power consumption. In order to test the proposed method, MATLAB software is used in two case studies. The obtained results confirmed the claimed efficiency and optimality of power and water resource management.","PeriodicalId":38705,"journal":{"name":"International Journal on Electrical Engineering and Informatics","volume":"119 7 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90249120","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
